Fury fought like a coward. Had he been braver, he would have won the fight. He was too scared of Wilders punching power. He was the better boxer.

Uhm, no they're not. When we talk "character", we're talking of the fictional character being portrayed. When we talk "acting", we're talking of the actor portraying said character

As a character, Bale is way ahead of Affleck One might say it's unfair because Bale had 3 movies for character arc. The significance of theme of each film and villains played great role in the development of Batman as a character. On another side, Snyder & Affleck got Batman the legend, Snyder had equal or more chance to use the backstory to define Batman as a character. He partly got it right but for the major part he screwed up terribly.

As for acting, you can't blame Ben Affleck for terrible script but he did okay with whatever he had. He did look good as dumb frustrated bully. There wasn't much for Ben to compare with Christian Bale since the character development is not there, no emotional arcs. It would be unfair to compare for now. Ben Affleck did look great as both Bruce Wayne and Batman in costume.


Character may be important but you write off the rest too easily. They're still very important.

That said, I think it's one of Bale's best roles honestly. Something that Joker said in the dark knight that had some merit is "Don't talk like one of them, you're not. Even if you'd like to be. To them, you're a freak. Like me. They just need you right now." I think that's true. Aside from Bale himself, the Nolan trilogy was able to make Batman out to be this entity that lurked in the shadows rather than this guy who strictly worked with the GCPD. It's also most likely true that the GCPD thought Batman was some fucking weirdo but the truth is, they needed him in their darkest hour.
