I will only address the part in bold. It is very wrong to claim I don’t care about the past atrocities. Indeed, no reasonable person can wish away the misdeeds of the past. Personally, I wish some of those sad events never happened. However, we must be fair enough to admit that atrocities were committed by all sides.

The MidWest was never an ally. We were neutral and infact prevented the Nigeria Army from preparing for defense and attack, that was a regrettable mistake of the MidWest stakeholders.

This neutrality was based on the fact that majority of senior officers in MidWeet were mostly Igbos and Aniomas. Ojoukwu struck with his army led by Banjo and all military personnel of Igbo stock all became Biafran solders before dawn.

Innocent civilians who were against the occupation were arrested and others murdered. The Benin Resistant Movement started and Urhobo/Ijaw Guerillas started slaughtering and poisoning the Biafran solders systematically.

The Biafrans cannot be exonerated from the genocide and although the Asaba massacre was worst but it was the rippling effect of what the Biafrans did in a region who were neutral and almost sympathetic their course.
