Good day all.... Good work everyone is doing exchanging information and sharing opinions about this process. God bless y'all... topeolu1: In one way or another, everyone has been right about the NPC/birth certificate issue. I would just like to add my opinion with respect to the second point in the Manitoba letter attached.... In my understanding, what is implied is that an individual above 18 SHOULD NOT apply for or collect a birth certificate AND CANNOT tender a birth certificate for any reason. Once the individual is above 18 and possibly looses the old birth certificate or applying for the first time, what he should be applying for is an attestation of birth. In other words, for a birth certificate to be valid, the date of issuance to the date of actual birth recorded should be less than 18yrs. cc @ifeoma77, @scandinavian02, @babybanky. There have been many people in the PPR hall of fame for this thread and past threads that have used the birth certificates. Others too have used the attestation of birth and gotten PPR. I used the Old birth certificates for my sister and I, still waiting for PPR 8months on. As @joo2018 rightly said, if in doubt, err on the side of caution and get the attestation of birth. Do whatever makes you sleep well. It shall end in praises to the most high. 7 Likes |

danfad: Why do they keep referring to "Port Harcourt University" though. That's not the name of your University. You can call their attention to that to see if that will change anything or head over to WES. 2 Likes |

From the wording of the fifth paragraph of the letter, I think either the VO did not see your upload on sibling relationship, or he wasn't convinced. No indication refers to the validity of the document(s) submitted. As has been suggested, order for gcms notes to better understand the VO. Meanwhile, I would also suggest you raise a CSE as soon as possible (attaching your refusal letter and highlighting the refusal reason) and reupload all the documents you earlier submitted, and if possible, add more documents and/or pictures. 5 Likes |

danfad: This is really strange cos verification of credentials from a University like UNIPORT(Federal University) should not be a Herculean task as suggested in the mail. However, their continuous mention of Port Harcourt University as against University of Port-Harcourt makes me believe something is fishy somewhere. But, 1. Did you process your transcript yourself or by proxy? If by proxy, do you really trust the person? 2. Is your credential from a satellite/affiliate campus? I asked because ICES recently updated documents requirement section for Nigeria, listing even some "popular" institutions with illegal satellite campuses and whose credentials will not be evaluated. Although, last time I checked UNIPORT was not among. 3. Have you tried contacting your school peradventure ICES sent verification which was never attended to by them. I know people have evaluated successfully with WES but anybody who has evaluated UNIPORT credential with ICES should please clear the air. 3 Likes |

Please I need a clarification on this. Can one claim sibling point for a sibling who did a soft landing and should be returning back to Nigeria in like 3 months. Will there be an issue if she gives an address but won't be there in some months time when they may need to do verifications. Anyone who has gone this route, please advise. Thank you. |

ojsamuel: I processed the transcript myself. It was sent from the Centre for Petroleum Geosciences, University of Port Harcourt via email. Not a satellite campus and ICES never contacted the centre for verification. I have sent them a mail to confirm the details, hopefully they will change it. I really wonder where Port Harcourt University came from. On my dashboard its showing University of Port Harcourt. |

There are various immigration pathways as listed on the official Canadian immigration website (www.cic.gc.ca). Browse through and I'm sure you will find one suitable for your peculiarity. However, this thread (basically page 1) contains information for one of the pathways - Express Entry for Federal Skilled Workers. As the name implies, it's an economic pathway for those with skilled work experience. zaidasqueen: 1 Like |

danfad:I think the problem is that maybe CPG is not among the list of universities they have, mind you CPG is not a university on its own, it's under UNIPORT, so you were wrong by going through CPG, you should have gone through UNIPORT or IPS. |

I need your advise. My unaccompanied spouse ( not migrating with us all now or in the near future) had problems with his chest ray during our medicals. He cleared all the 3TB tests, we were sent to see an Pulmonologist who confirmed he doesn't have TB. My kids and I already passed our medicals, he is the one delaying us. Please can can i don to expedite this process. 1 Like 1 Share |

opella: Transcript, success letter and all the information I filled online still carries University of Port Harcourt, I really don't think that should be an issue. CPG is under UNIPORT, IPS to is. If I can get my refund quick I don port go WES. After 4 months Pls can I reach them via twitter? |
