Good day all,

I have few questions to ask

1. Am at the point of applying for my study permit and am contemplating if I shld go through the paper route or online. Will be needing my passport for tourist visa application to UK in July. Don’t know the fastest route.

2. If I go the online route, how do I do my biometric?

3. Can I submit my application with a sworn affidavits for my age declaration

4. Can I make use of waec online printout as my waec certificate is missing and I don’t want to go through the long process of getting it reprinted by waec

Please assist
1. Both routes are the same(none is faster than the other). But since you intend applying for a UK visa in July I will advise you apply via online route cos with that you get to keep your passport until TRV is ready.
2. You will receive a message asking you to go for biometric days after you submit your application (though it could take a bit longer)
3. Yes you can
4. Yes you can use waec printout, but make sure you include waec scratch card so they can use it to verify.

Evening everyone,

Please concerning my birth certificate that I will be submitting for my online application.

Is it the one issued by the hospital I was given birth to I will use or the one from National Population Commission (NPC).

Cause the only one I have is that of Hospital own.

Can it be used too please?

@Bracha @Qudkom and everyone please!

You can do all of the above in Canada.

What you need to do is extend your passport at the Nigerian Embassy in Ottawa before it expires, you can get it the same day .. probably less stressful compared to Nigeria. Thereafter you would use your proof of Enrolment in school to extend your study permit visa if you wish. Ensure you do all of this before your study permit expires.

So a good timeline would be to travel to Ottawa either during Christmas break or immediately you’re done Winter semester in May to extend the Nigerian passport. Thereafter extend your study permit with proof of your enrolment from school. Ensure you don’t leave the process till late.

Also your visa is only essential for travel, so it could expire during your stay in Canada without worrying about extension, but your permit cannot expire / you should make sure it doesn’t expire while you’re still studying in Canada. If you plan on leaving Canada at any point during your study you can extend the visa before hand.
I thought study permits were issued at POE? Do the issue the study permits based on the duration of one's visa or what's on your evidence of enrolment to school

On this issue of gift deed, in a setting whereby the applicant has been residing at the property and the dad died before even transferring the property to him. And the dad's wish was to have his son inherit the property. Can the mother of the person transfer the property to the son via gift deed after a refusal on personal assets and financial status? This is in reference to my case. Note: the property was not included in the first application that was refused.

Your mother can transfer the property as a Gift Deed after the demise of your father. Your LOE should state that;

You have an asset in Nigeria which you must return to upon your graduation to continue managing, most notably a building which was gifted/transferred to you by your mother few years ago in 2009 (should be backdated), which you did not include in your initial application because you're being fully sponsored by your mother/brother/uncle (as the case maybe) and you assumed sponsorship covered the need for the applicant to disclose personal assets. You have therefore attached documents evidencing this property in Nigeria etc.....

Please this is just a guide, add more reasonable points to the letter and make it look convincing. Please don't declare that it's your current residential building that was transferred to you when drafting this letter.

Best of luck

Hi all. I'm a loyal follower here. I quickly want to confirm if it is possible today secure admission for masters in Canada with HND (Distinction in Comp science). I ve searched through some schools without success. If anyone knows any school of such, kindly recommend. Thanks

You can't secure an admission into a master's degree program in Canada with a HND certification. Your best bet is to go for a post graduate diploma in a field that is directly related to your previous studies or your current job role. You can extend your search to Conestoga College, Ontario.

Please, I have a question. Does everyone who apply for a TRV get a correspondence letter on validity of biometrics?

What if it's a paper application?
nochyks87:

I clearly understand what @optimus is asking. If The applicant has a co-op permit attached to his course of study, he has to provide evidence of where it is stated. It can be found on the letter of acceptance. So the applicant should upload the letter of acceptance to that section. That's what I used during my previous application and there was no worries as the school advised me to do so.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by chidaroy(f): 10:59pm On Jun 07, 2019
I think you'd be better off if you paid the fees (at least first semester) before applying for the visa. VOs look out for the school's admission conditions and payment deadlines.

If you haven't paid the fees by the time you apply and that falls within the deadline, it may create a different impression with the VO

#mytwocents

kemmyk:
God bless you

But plss one more issue ,I got a msg from my school just yesterday that I must pay the remaining school fees which is about 6000cad plus before the 12th of this month to retain my sit after I have already paid admission fee of about 1600cad last month ..they also mentioned that my visa must have been ready too...me that just started my visa processing...

the issue now is should I go ahead to pay for the school fees ( refundable after 10 days of resumption) or should I tell them that my visa is still under processing.

Am confused now

Thanks again @Frankrobbn1, I am opting for the deed which would be back dated. I am just trying to avoid any document that would take to long to be processed and think the deed is a pretty straight forward one.

@Qudkom I am not the only child deserving of my fathers property as you rightly mentioned, he has properties in other states which my other sisters got. It was a verbal pronouncement though and I am just trying to get a document as I forsee it making my application pull through. Thanks also for your response I appreciate your contribution.

Like I earlier mentioned, I hurried my application as a result of a deadline from my school i was trying to meet, which is the reason I omitted that vital information.

However, I have to wait for the gcms notes to seek further advice, for now let me get that document (deed) ready.

Cheers!

I trust it will turn out in your favor. Keep the house posted should you receive the CAIPS file. Best of luck with your reapplication

Hello everyone,

Please, I need your assistance. It's about the CIC 1294e form, under details of intended study. My questions are;
1. "The question which says my expenses in Canada will be paid by?" Please, am I suppose to provide their full names or simply write "Brother and sister-in-law" considering that they are both my sponsors?

2. Is the closing balance on their respective account statements plus mine equivalent to the funds available for my stay?

I look forward to your responses.
