in the spirit of enlightening one another, because i see some common misconception about Nairobi here a lot.
1.Nairobi has about 4 business districts, they include the following

a) The old CBD (this the one that is easily recognizable on photos)
b) Upper Hill the fastest growing business district in Africa
c) Westlands
d) Mombasa road

kenya's commercial and high end property segments is doing pretty good, you can give us that

however, we are doing poorly in lower end properties, mass transport and gabbage collection.

one of the major reasons why westerners prefer Nairobi over Dar is because of its good climate, Nairobi climate is cool all year, infact there is very little need for air conditioning in Nairobi, this is what i love about Nairobi the most.
I would add Kilimani/ngong road as a business district. Its not the climate alone but also the infrastructure, the English speaking professionals, world class office and residential spaces, etc etc.Nairobi big problem is traffic jams and petty thieves.

Guys with enough research I have noticed as stupid as Kenya is they think they can use infatrucure I.e (loan infrastructure ) to make Kenya a developed country if that is so why isn't south Africa yet a developed country and come to think of it do you guys even have future master plans at least a 30years master plan Nigeria once made that mistake that why our once glorified 1980s infrastructure are nothing today but we've learned from that mistake and now every newly built city e.g. eac, centenary, kano cbd etc have at least a 30years master plans so the cities won't be addicted with our population raise the will cause heavy stress on our infrastructure

Kenya produces about 4bn litres of milk. A litre of raw milk in Kenya is ksh36. cheesy In fact, that ksh36 is the highest in the market, it is paid by Brookside.

If you multiplied 4bn litres by ksh36, you get about $1.5bn. grin

Remember, your milk industry is only 20% formal.

And please please please, stop lying once again! Brookside was never valued by Danone at $400million in 2014.The last time Brookside was publicly valued was in 2009.It was a paltry $170mn. cheesy

So,milk $1.5bn max.Let me go to tea.
Today,we will get the true idea of how small your GDP is actually. Trust me.

They didn't produce 4 bill, they produced 3.43 bill littles last year. http://dailyactive.info/2019/03/05/top-ten-milk-producing-countries-in-africa-kenya-will-surprise-you/
They did export usd 1.1b of tea last year. I wonder how they can produce agricultural goods worthy 30Usd bill.

And I think Nairobi should never be compered with Abuja Abuja beats Nairobi in infatrucure by far the only problem is there are very few skylines in Abuja and note that because it still under construction because that city is lyk super planned do you know that apart from centenary city the federal government are constructing a numerous amounts of towers in the main city and the exciting thing is all districts in Abuja from the estates zone to the main city to centenary city would be connected with tunnels and double lane morden speed trains not sgr
NOTE every thing I just typed are not dreams but riality under construction.

Kenya agriculture sector. Let see how cooked it is.

1) Kenya Dairy Sector - The largest and most sophisticated in Africa. With an estimated 5 billion litres of milk produced in the country. With about 648M litres processed. It accounts anything btw 5-8% of GDP and about 15-20% of the Kenya's agricluture GDP. In dollars terms - the sector is worth anything 5-8 billion dollars.

Some of biggest industry players include Brookside (owned by Kenyattas) - with 45% market share, KCC (owned by gov & farmers) with 35% and many farmers-co-op processors like Githunguri (10%).

Suffice to say kenya leads Africa in milk consumption...

Brookside is now well over 1B dollars in valuation and sell it's milk as far as Zambia. Few years ago French Dairy Conglomerate (Danone) valued it at 400M dollars when it acquired a minority stake.

In Africa - Brookside, Danone and Arbaaj - are biggest player. With signing of Africa Free Trade - expect to see Brookside milk in West Africa shores.

Here the famous Fulani herdsman who also double up as Nigeria President admiring Brookside factory in Ruiru Nairobi.

This brookside company is careless.I doubts how do they produce their dairy products.

Imagine dudes entering production area without hairnets! That shouldn't allowed at all.A stupid people who tries to produce milk.Someone should buy them these stuff..

You're talking about city master plan.Of course. Those are living documents.Nairobi master plan was written in 1948..updated in 1973..and recently updated in 2015 or around.Plans are good. Its even better when they are followed.Nigeria cities need to enforce strict zoning.Abuja is already loosing it.We also have national vision.Ours vision 2030 when we hope to be a middle class country like South Africa with GDP per capita of 4000 dollars or more.We are now at 2000 GDP per capita and we hope triple our GDP by 2030 and add less folks. It would be nice to be 300b dollars economy with 60m folks in 2030.

These bulls can weigh almost a tonne. Look at those legs, short and steady to support that boxy bulky body. Now that's a true beef breed cow.

I remember back then in highschool Geography studying about Beef Farming in Kenya and Argentina. You'd always compare Kenya with a high ranking nation in a certain economic activity. For instance we had topics like

- Dairy farming in Kenya and Denmark

-Horticulture in Kenya and Netherlands

- Fishing in Kenya and Japan

That's the 8:4:4 for you. You learned more than what you asked for
Mkenya2019:
Kenya beef industry - boost of modern ranches and breeds like Kenyan Borana - one most sought after beef cow

cheesy It's even worse than I thought. And price of raw milk has even dropped to Ksh26 and not the Ksh36 I quoted earlier. That gives them $1bn max from milk.

You get money when you sell milk just as milk. What about when you add value to it and sell it as yoghurt or any other known dairy product? You just don't take the annual production and multiply it by the market price so as to get the true value of Kenya's dairy sector.

But wait until you hear Yemi Kale - he probably claim you livestock production is worth 30B dollars.
Let me punch another hole in your parachute. Nigeria is number one in Africa in terms of goat production. Heck! They're everywhere in Nigeria.
grin
Among the Asian countries the largest goat
population exist in China, India, Pakistan and
Bangladesh. Goats in China (182 890 670 heads)
constitute the 18.19% of the total world goat
population. The above countries together with
Nigeria constitute the top five countries in the world
with the largest number of goats
.

And you consumed 13 million tonnes of maize smiley smiley That is like how many bags per every Tanzanian. Is that new national pass-time. The figures I knew were around 5.5M - it appears you did 6.3M...then 6.7M in 2017/2018.

Now 16M metric tonnes is a strech....maybe Magufuli got confused with all the English.

I heard during the meeting with Zim over the Maize deal..it became very embarrassing clearly no one in TZ entourage understood English...Zim VP had to do the translation.

Mnangagwa had asked Magufuli if he had a translator among his staffers to which the Tanzanian responded in the negative before carrying on grin grin

Taking into account the possible five billion litres produced all over the country, the figures should translate into those billions you are denying. Processed milk is sold at sh.100 per litre while in the informal market the same goes for about sh.70.
