A 34-year-old banker, Ramon Rilwon-Olayiwola, yesterday appeared at a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N11 million from bank customers’ accounts.

The defendant, a resident of 8, Sultan Bello Street, Owutu, Ikorodu, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Edet Okoi told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 22, at about 7:20pm, at Access Bank head office in Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant, an employee of Access Bank Plc., while working at the bank’s Contact Centre Executive Unit, used his position to fraudulently access customers’ details and withdrew money from their accounts.

Okoi alleged that the defendant withdrew N11 million from customers’ accounts.

“The defendant conspired with some other employees to change some customers’ details on the system and made unauthorised withdrawals from their accounts without the customers’ consent.

“During internal investigation, which the bank carried out, the CCTV footage showed that it was only the defendant that used the system for accessing customers’ details on the said date,” he said.

Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias granted the defendant N5 million bail with two sureties in the like sum and adjourned the case till September 29.

"DO NOT Harden your Heart

Provb 29:1
He That being often reproved hardenth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy."

Many are in captivity today because they have continuously ignored God's Warning.

God is Merciful. HE does not willfully punish or send calamity to mankind. Rather, before He does anything, He will send a Warning in order to give you a chance to amend your ways.

Even if He had Planned to punish you, He can be influenced by your reaction to His Warning. If we react positively by Repenting, He can Change His intended line of action as was in the case of the city of Nineveh after they hearkened to the Warning of Jonah.

In the days of Sodom and Gomorrah we see Lot pleading with his Son-in-laws to come along with him and his family because God was about to Overthrow the city. Instead of heeding the warnings they laughed him to scorn. They felt it was a joke until they were Suddenly Destroyed alongside all the inhabitants of sodom and gomorrah..

Those in the days of Noah suffered similar fate. They Mocked and laughed at Noah. We all know how they were Wasted..

Are you One of those that scoff at God's Warnings?
Have you been Hearing the undiluted Word of God but have not deemed it fit to amend your ways?
Do you read your Bible but are selective in application?

Be Careful not to Provoke the Anger of God. His Warnings should not be taken lightly.

It is true that He is a Merciful, Kind and Loving God, He is also a Consuming Fire.

It is only a fool that contends with His Maker and hopes to come out unscathed....

Various Warnings from GOD are going round the World in different forms..

I don't think sodom and Gomorrah committed the evils and Wickedness this generation has Committed.

Consider your ways, Make Amendments and Surrender to JESUS CHRIST.. He is the Only Acceptable way of salvation.

The Next hour Might be late.

This Message is For Somebody...

But the money should be traced and recovered instead of these long stories. If money is transferred from one account to another, there should be a way of recovery. Now. Well our judicial system shaa.

What a sarcasm!

The alarming rate of crime in Nigeria is becoming a thing of National concern, yet the leaders who the people look up to are also highly involved in "Thieferry"
as an occupation.

Religious leaders are not helping matters too. Who will the citenzry turn to for succor from this evil endemic that has swept across all borders of the country.

The solution indeed lies in the cause of this new found profession by all sundry. It's not rocket science nor nuclear energy, but if only unemployment rate can be tackled effectively and efficiently, then the war against Theft,Kidnapping,Banditry,Armrobbery et al., can be said to have begun.

The media sha. They have already labeled him GUILTY!
Dude is nothing but a scape goat! So because he accessed customer's account on the day fraud was perpetrated, that automatically makes him guilty. Banks and their incompetent audit and investigation system.
Do contact centre staff have access to core banking apps for debiting accounts? I doubt..

Scape goated!

That guy must have diverted hundreds of millions, together with some top executives of the bank. He is just being prosecuted for the amount they have proof for. (Not from CCTV, mind you)

I am a banker, so I know what I am saying.....

Adjournment isn't same with discharged and acquitted.
Also, the bail bond is 15m cummulative, that is, 5m and 2surety in like sum(same amount).
Assuming he is planning to evade trial which earlier insinuated, he is losing 15m and not 5m, so he still needs to get 4m to make up
