Bank workers in Nigeria committed 37,817 fraud cases in 2018 where they stole N26.182billion. This is contained in the National Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) report which showed that the bank employees stole N12.01 billion.

When put together, the amount stolen by the bankers in in just two years from their employers, whose major business is to keep customers’ deposits, was N38.93 billion.

I am not surprised, welcome to a country where everyone likes to act influential and rich, most bankers like to be seen rich, I know of one in fcmb then in east , he changes cars like 'no man business " , always looking Porsche and forming sweet boys.

A thief is a thief anytime but have they (banks)taken care of the required things. Keep pple in charge of money and pay peanuts.

Same thing in govt.
Permanent secretary/director salary is small but he has access to manage millions of naira and he should not package himself.

First Bank of Nigeria must be leading the pack. First, it was my money some months ago and just last week, my cousin whose was #200k+ just last week. And to think that they do this with reckless abandon and blame it on nothing when you air your displeasure tells you these contract staff guys are not working alone.

I don't see any need talking about our failed govt.

People are not just getting it. We just want to oppress living above our means at all cost. We don't want to start small, we are always in a race with friends, family members, colleagues, a lot . When i saw a woman took her child to babalawo to do jazz for her 15year old child boy to make him jam very wealthy while person to cash out big, then i know we already failed our selves not just the government.

What's the difference between Bank workers and Employees.

From my understanding of the above the Bank workers are the staff who carry out auxiliary job functions that are the Bank workers who are some times or most times outsourced staff.
Then the employees are the core staff of the bank who have deep knowledge of the dynamics of the system and how it operates at the back end and can do and undo from the back end that is the CEO,Executive Directors,Regional Managers,Branch/Business Managers,Head Office/Regional Office staff and also Branch Core Operations and Marketing Staff

Although both can be used interchangeably

NOTE:Just my thinking

it is better to keep your money under your mattress. all these bank workers are thieves

thats not the point. people like you fail to understand world dynamics. you only look at the salary but forget that the cost of living in the UK is 10 times more expensive than in nigeria. someone earning 16,000 pounds a year in the UK ( which is what cashiers in the UK earn ) is equivalent to someone earning 40,000 naira a month in nigeria. because rent in the UK alone is 5 times the rent you pay in nigeria. in UK the average rent is 700 pounds a month. thats 7200 pounds a year. that is 4 million naira a year that they pay in rent. what is rent in nigeria ? you can get a nice place for 800,000 naira a year. on top of their rent they are obligated to pay council tax. this is 1000 pounds a year. thats an extra 500,000 a year. on top of that they are obligated to pay TV license. thats another 500,000 naira a year. on top of that they are obligated to pay for putting their car on the street. thats another 500,000 naira a year. do you get the picture ? you dont compare salaries, you compare the cost of living and a banker in nigeria with his 80,000 naira a month has a higher standard of living than a banker in the UK with his 16,000 pounds a year. and yet they do not steal customers money.
