Eagles Fly Alone. Pigeons Flock Together.

Just saw the DP of one of my WhatsApp contacts which showed an eagle with this caption, and I thought it made a lot of sense.

Although I'm not against numbers, but for me individual quality is foremost, and comes first before anything else.

Hence I do not concur with the orientation and certain sayings which favor numbers and quantity over individual quality.

For instance there is a widely accepted saying that "two heads are better than one", but I beg to differ, because it depends on the quality of the two heads as opposed to the one, as I believe that on that basis, one head can be better than ten or even more heads.

Because one head can be a good one, while ten heads can be ten bad ones, so instead of choosing the ten bad heads because of the numbers, I would ten times over take the one good head over the ten bad ones because of quality.

And this was one thing I learnt from Jesus, for Jesus wasn't about numbers or quantity-oriented but all about quality. Hence His choosing the twelve disciples(though one was a devil) to stay, over the many that left at a point. {John 6:66}

And even in His prayer life, He was not about numbers, for He was usually praying alone. And even when He had people praying with Him, it was just with the top three disciples and not even the whole twelve. {Matthew 14:23, Luke 9:28}

The point is that Jesus knew the importance of quality concerning what He was about and wanted to achieve, because He knew that it was because of His quality that the devil could prevail nothing against Him regardless of what he devised against Him. So for Him to build a church that could be able to withstand the devil to the extent He was able to do, He knew He needed to build a church of His kind of quality. {Matthew 16:18}

That's why despite that many of His disciples had left Him and never walked with Him again, He wasn't bothered because He didn't seek to build a church of quantity but of quality. So when He was through with the church, the quality of the church He had built spoke for itself as that is yet the most powerful and resilient church in history.

Today the orientation of the church leaders and members as a whole is very different from that of Jesus, for they are all about numbers instead of quality. So they do or say just about anything they can just to get more people into the church building, perhaps thinking that it is the loudness of the amen that would determine the result.

But the result speaks for itself, as in spite the record numbers of people in the several gigantic structures they have constructed for this purpose, the church is only a shadow of the church that Jesus built in terms of power and resilience, despite that the numbers of that church so pales in comparison to this, because heaven doesn't respond to numbers (quantity) but to quality.

Hence for me, just like the Master, quality takes precedence over numbers and quantity. And it's only after quality has first been established, that I can start talking about numbers.

Therefore though I'm not against numbers, I would rather have an eagle that flies alone, than pigeons that flock together.

Because despite that it's just one eagle, I know what I get from one eagle, for in that respect, one is one.

And then if I can get another eagle to add to that one, it is better than having one eagle. And if I can get another one to add to the two It's even much better. And then if I get another one, I can start talking about numbers, because I know that even though I got numbers, I got quality.

God bless.

Nice one!
Also note that sub standard is also ousted out of a group of standards.

Luke 17:37 (KJV)

37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

Yes, eagles also gather together, not just the pigeons, but what distinguishes the gathering of the eagles from that of the pigeons, is the quality of the gathering.

So it's no coincidence that Jesus, who was all about quality, would use the gathering of the eagles rather than that of the pigeons to describe those who would be caught up to be with Him on the last day.

And speaking of the gathering of the eagles, something about quality, is that it is not common.

So what that means is that when one is quality-oriented as Jesus was, the chances are that the associated numbers are not going to be as much as those of the quantity-oriented, which explains why many disciples left Jesus but few stayed, as that was in consonance with these sayings of His:

Matthew 22:14 (KJV)

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV)

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Therefore these sayings of Jesus illustrate how hard quality is to come by, and hence why Jesus called the chosen ones, eagles instead of pigeons, because many are the pigeons, but few are the eagles because of their quality.

So on point!
Of what use is speed without accuracy?
Isn't it a waste of time writing a life story that's wrong from start to finish, nitpicking over commas and semicolons?
Its better to be alone with sound mind than to company with numbers to no profit.

Considering the quality of the eagle, it shouldn't come as a surprise that it was often used to illustrate the things that be of God, inclusive of His people, in the Bible.

One of which is this saying of Jesus:

"Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together." {Luke 17:37 (KJV)}

The others would be coming up in subsequent posts.

God bless.

Gosh! Going by an old troll's warped logic, Prophet Isaiah must have been feeding people with "detestable eagle meat".
