Does Mercedes manufacture parts?
Pumps by Bosch, calipers by Bleep, pistons by Bleep, liners by Bleep etc etc. So anyone can buy from any of the Mercedes suppliers.

Save yourself the stress and buy a 2005 C320. That's the only W203 I can recommend.

Why only C320? Because it is V6? share pls

Because it's the most powerful M112 engine. The M112 is ridiculously reliable. Cheap too. The C240 is underpowered but the C320 is just about perfect. Good power, good efficiency, good reliability.

2005 because that was the face-lift year. New center console and instrument cluster, and they also fixed most of issues with the early W203. The 2005 C320 is the only W203 I'd buy. Apart from the C55 AMG, of course.

But I thought Benzedes fans don't need reliability? I thought reliability is only for "poor peasants" like governors who drive Toyota Landcruisers cheesy

The 2005 C230 Kompressor sef, one of the reasons I tinted it is so pple will see the small guy behind the steering.

Why not buy C180(2.0L I4), C240 straight 2.6L V6, C280 or C320 (3.2L V6)? I learnt the Kompressor engine is less rugged.

Hi guys, u people here are my e-family when it comes to car matters.

I made the biggest mistake of my life by trusting a 32-year old mechanic with my car key.

I need to bring ds out, maybe I could get help or advice on the next step to take and this would be a lesson to many as well.

My friend had a wedding last month, he needed to use my car, so I was to drive himself and the wife back to Ibadan from Lagos.

Drive to Lagos from Ibadan was perfect. On Saturday evening, when we were done with wedding after all the guests had left the venue, the new couple, myself and another friend got into the car to leave for Ibadan, dt was how ignition refused to start, I tried everything, car wasn't cranking, I opened bonnet, touched the battery, car started and then we left for our hotel rooms to get our stuff and prepare for the journey back to Ibadan.

On getting back to the car, i tried starting again, it didn't start, I was confused, it was getting late, retightened the battery but, No, it didn't work o, ba3 was very ok, there was no mechanic around to help check it. We tried jumpstarting, still didn't work.

One of us sha placed hand on one of some hoses around engine area, I tried it again and it worked, dt was how we got into the car and left Lagos. All through the journey, car drove very fine and smooth, I did 170km at some point sef, it was a smooth ride to Ibadan, my friend alighted but I didn't put off engine, he left and we proceeded to my friend's house but on our way, he decided to get Baygon at a supermarket. I put engine off, we tried starting again, nd ds time it took almost 2hrs of trial and error, car refused to start o, we eventually had to leave it there dt Saturday night nd went home.

Long story short, I called the mechanic guy who helped work on my suspension parts the previous week to come have it checked, he said car would start dt it was a fuse problem, apparently, fuel wasn't supplying to the engine nd I had almost a full tank. I didnt know how he did it. He opened my back seat, connected some wires and car started fine. He said to me that, a rewire would have to work on it the following day which was a Monday, I told him to let us take the car home but he insisted on taking it to his workshop so rewire can easily work on it b4 I get there the next day as I was meant to travel back to my base nd then, he made me believe it wont be safe for me to drive the car with the kinda quick fix connections he did, so I allowed him.

I followed him to the workshop and saw him Park my car with no issues, I went back home.
Got there the following day for my car and got the most shocking news of my life, my car had gotten in accident, an head on collision with a stationary Jetta.

The bastard took my car out in the night to a club/bar, got drunk and got in an accident dt rendered the front end badly damaged. According to the Police officer who towed the car to the nearby station, it happened around 10pm Sunday night.

Case is in Court, next Court meeting is on November 8th, nothing has been done about my car, the guy has been bailed to move freely since he met the bail criteria.

I am the one suffering for everything as I have no other car to drive to work, I can't even attend functions, I don't know what to do? Can I get people to buy the car in that condition, add money and get another one, even if its the common Corolla, or I should let them fix it like they have been begging me to, they said dey have been able to raise a little above 200k and they have 300k to 400k budgetted to fix the car.

What do I do?

Cc Radautoworks, Gazzuzz, Nwanneni, Logobenz3, Eddee, Smartchoiice, Kingreign, Weyreypey, HeavenlyBang, Nurey, etc etc..

U all knew when I got the car in February. Make una advice me biko, I'll post pictures soon.

I wish I did comprehensive insurance like Gazzuzz advised.

If you haven't done yours, it's not too late.

is this chelseafan1?
Oh shit I hope it's not the c230k.
If it is then bro I will say don't fix that car, sell as Is,collect the 300k from that mech and add some money to get yourself something else.
That car is very fragile and imagine the money pit it would become after getting in an accident
Sorry for your loss bro.I don't know how you people easily trust people like this o,cos I don't!

Collect whatever you can collect for the repairs but i wouldn't advise you fix the car after collection but sell as it's and get yourself a new car.

Again, "common Corolla". If the Corolla seems common to you why are you considering getting yourself one now that you have a tight budget? Atleast that same "common Corolla" if you have it as a spare, it should conveniently take you from point A to B without stress.

Finally, a comprehensive insurance would have addressed this. Sorry for your loss

Lol, sorry if the 'common' I used sounded offensive.

What I meant was the very popular Corolla.

It's like the only popular car we have in Nigeria.

Maybe I should have said they 2005 Corolla.

If it was a Camry or Accord I'll say fix. Most of them come into the country in a far worse shape.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for your Merc. I dont even think those guys have the expertise to do a proper fix and the cost of doing that may cost an arm and leg.

Write it off as bad investment, sell as is and get another vehicle. Sorry for the loss, I know how much it pains when I scratch my vehicle and I can't imagine how painful it must be to someone else do that to yours.

Thank you bros. The mechanic dude has a boss, the boss begged me to let them fix it and that, if I don't like it, I can sell it off. They said the Panel beater is very good and he handles a lot of damaged 'Tokunbo' cars even worse than this.

They've gone to price parts and they have gotten a quote of over 300k for the major ones like Bonnet, Bumper, Fenders, Radiator, Condenser. I think I should allow them and since I have the Court option too.
