RabbiDoracle:

A simple question :

Are these 2 banks part of the 7 SIBs?

FCMB has a total assets of 1.5b+ while FIDELITY has 1.9b+

Another one that I think could be part of the SIB could be STANBIC (Total assets of 1.6b+)

Maybe CBN shouldn’t have announced that 7 banks failed a stress test. There is now hysteria as people are trading on the news. Some are even closing their bank accounts. Everyone knows the Tier 1 banks-Zenith, GTB and Access.

Based on the news, even the Tier-1 banks may have to recapitalize because our Naira has lost a lot of value since the last capitalization exercise under Soludo

Q3 2019 results so far released:

The Good; GTB, UBA, FBNH, OKOMU OIL

The not-so-good; UCAP

I have since said that what is happening in the country's fiscal and monetary policy space(particularly the former) will favour the banks and certain coys in the CONSUMER(fmcgs) and PHARMACEUTICAL sectors.

Worthy of note is the fact that rates will likely push higher and remain above single digit in the short to mid term, as inflation bites following the government's increasing hunger for revenue drive to curtail its deficit and better manage its debt burden.
Inflation will also likely remain high with the recent stiff border enforcement/closure, increase in minimum wage and imminent top up in electricity, VAT and certain trx tariff.

When u juxtapose these 2 factors(rate to inflation drive), u won't be needing a soothsayer to tell u that banks will derive arbitrage gains therein.

There is a reason why the CBN governor declared that there are NO plans to reduce rates until inflation hits single digit at the last MPC meeting.

It is well.

Modified.

...so I noticed a few worries with OKOMU OIL and decided to pull it down from the GOOD to the not-so-good category of Q3 results released so far.
We think it(okomu) holds less risk-return and value behind the current price(on a YoY run) and so current mkt price would need to adjust downwards to allow for a better reward margin(MoS peg in view)
A 30-42% discount from current price should give room for a better reward raking-off risk.

i have been having these 500k shares in Multiverse since 2012 bought at 50k. Price now 20k. With the news of share reconstruction of 10 :1 and using share premium account to wipe of retained losses. will these be the game changer. i will attend the AGM on 25 Nov to hear what these mgt and board have to say. Shareholders are suffering.

checking some numbers this morning...

ucap hav one of the good Q3 in my own opinion. ucap is better than Afripud when valued based on earnings but the later is more better with cash valuation. since cash is oxygen of any firm, investors will keep bidding up afripud price grin

fairprice: ucap 4.7 , Afripud 7.4

My brother. Its a pity you are involved in this calamity stock. After reconstructions,it's either it becomes an illiquid stock(stagnant) at the reconstructed price or it drives back to 20kobo again.
No news,no good result,no good corporate governance,no technicals to help the stock at the moment.
