jarawa:
Barely two days after the Supreme Court struck out the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari as winner of the February 23, 2019 election, agitation for the 2023 presidential ticket has commenced. Credible sources told our correspondent yesterday in Abuja that some power brokers in the party were already planning how to field another candidate in 2023.

It was gathered that high ranking members of the PDP, including some serving governors were plotting to field a northern candidate in 2023, while some party bigwigs from the South felt cheated by such arrangement and are challenging the move.

A Board of Trustees (BoT) member from the South who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity said: “It is true that some power brokers in the PDP were not comfortable with the emergence of Atiku but we supported him as our candidate.” “So now that our case has been thrown out, there are pockets of agitations regarding which zone should produce the presidential candidate in 2023. “But I think the party also needs to handle this matter with caution because, already, many of our members are likely to jump ship to the APC. I’m also considering that option so I don’t want to comment on the matter anymore,” he said.

But PDP National Publicity Secretary Kola Ologbondiyan told our correspondent yesterday in a telephone chat that the party has not taken a decision on its 2023 presidential ticket. “There is no agitation within the PDP over the 2023 presidential ticket. It’s even too early to talk about 2023, but I can assure you that the future of the PDP is very bright. “We have not even seen the reasons they (Supreme Court) advanced for their judgement. So we have not reached discussion on that yet,” he said.

You are right ... Let the south unite

South west had eight years as President.. Another as VP.. The south south.. 6 years as President..
I think they should all rally round the South East this time..

If not the North takes it again

why would we want to do that after they abused the shitt out of us for years because of ipob....??

There's no best in Nigerian elections. The best are never allowed to even come out successful as aspirants and when they do, they are unpopular.

As to the bold, I will say its only an assumption. There's no verifiable source to ascertain that statement.
Even the people's attitude tells otherwise.

It will be a huge demonstration of ingratitude, mistrust, and hatred by pdp if they dont field an Easterner for 2023 given how hard those guys have worked for the party.

Twenty years of diligence, loyalty and obedience is no joke.

More like 20 years of blind slavery because PDP will still zone it either to North or SouthSouth. Just watch.

I think this should be a good news to you.

APc will foolishly field Tinubu... Who will start failing from appointing his running mate.. A Muslim Muslim ticket..

PDP will field kwankanso or Tambuwal... With a more balanced running mate like wike or obi..

I think APc is already finished

What if this leads to the defeat of the APC?
Do you think APC hierrachy wish to leave power by 2023?

Eastlink:
PDP zoned it's Presidential ticket to the north in 2019 and they couldn't win. The Igbo's gets the ticket come 2023. The north has served it's turn through Buhari.
Both APC and PDP should field Igbo candidates. This is the best deal in the interest of the nation.

the political truth is dis
prior to 2023 elections, APC would pick a southwesterner but a very weak one with a stronger northern (possibly NE) vice.
according to social media rants
PDP would pick a northern plus a southeast or southsouth ticket (foolishly)
everyone would think PDP would win cos its all north + SE\SS V SW.

but haven noticed northern voting pattern since 1999, the north and SW would massively vote APC again den the SE\SS would massively vote PDP (my people dont learn)
den middle belt states (8 of dem) would vote 50\50 but give APC more votes.
APC wins but north takes control as the SW person would be very weak with a strong northern vice.
the only thing dat can change d equation is if tinubu\osinbajo\fayemi tries to contest
den the reverse.

please m an igbo man fully blooded SE
m just a political analysist

You are political strategist, the PDP need to hire you as their Political strategist on how to return to power in 2023.

Nobody is afraid of anything...
the south west has an existing relationship with the North through Tinubu and co.. so it's no brainer that the North with their population will reward the south west for selling out the rest of the south in 2015...

So a PDP Northern ticket is the sure bet to destabilise the south west and APc..

No northerner will leave Kwakwanso or Tambuwal and vote one Tinubu from Yoruba land

No south East or South south citizen will vote the bullion van master...

That's how APc will lose

Northwest.... Sokoto PDP, Zamfara PDP

Northeast.... Bauchi PDP, Adamawa PDP, Taraba PDP

North central.... Benue PDP

Southwest... Oyo PDP

5 southeastern States

5 south south states and 60% of Edo state

Now consider presence in other supposedly APC states like Kano, Lagos, Plateau, Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun.

And you still can't see that PDP is the true national party??

There's nothing national about the PDP. That is the greatest denial we claim to believe and continuously tell ourselves.
PDP operates the law of let the minority have their say but majority have their way.

Who destroyed Nigeria more than Buhari

A man who borrowed money in four years more than all his precedessors combined since 99..

A man who holds the record as the only sitting president on earth who has spent more time away from his country while in office

Who will support Buhari aside a mad fellow
it is about delivery, not just sitting in the country. I am sure if APC finish this their 8 years tenure, PDP would be ashamed of themselves.
the only PDP president I respect is yar'Adua other like Obasanjo and Jonathan with is wife has been patriotic enough please.
