Unfortunately the face of Owerri is now worse than that Ochanja market fire. You don't even know what is fire service in Imo state, so how will you be talking when your master Anambra is talking

[s]
emmamajesty:

bro cool down abeg
since the fire outbreak that destroyed a whole Ochanja market and other residential buildings in onitcha this month without a single fire servicemen around we no dey take anambra state serious again, the only different between anambra and jigawa state is noise making propensity

Since you people have nothing to discuss about your cursed backward state. Then dwell on this topic from Budgit cheesy

Some states like Delta and Anambra, with learned politicians are working. Imo state except Owerri is as good as dead.

Most of the instruments like portable water supply and tertiary education institutions that engender development where provided, are evenly provided in Anambra and Delta states.

But in Imo state, poorly educated politicians, worse, Rochas Okorocha, coupled with primitive greed in Owerri zone, make all instruments of development cluster only in Owerri zone.

The Orlu and Okigwe zones of Imo state remain in near dark ages.

The new governor from Owerri zone has set out early with policies to worsen the situation in Orlu and Okigwe zones.

My brother Anambra and Delta are working maybe on paper but might even be worse than some States you believe are not working. Building of roads does not make a working system but establishing sustainability across the system and State. Example if roads are built there should be proper maintenance plan because roads in rainforest with heavy duty 60 tonnes trucks plying them require regular maintenance.

Abagworo just shut up your dirty mouth, as much I totally don't like what kikate did, but in all honesty Imo state is the worst state in the SE in every sector. The only state Imo maybe a little better than is Abia state.

Abagworo mechie onu nsi gi there. Imo state is the worst state in SE with exception of Abia state. This has nothing to do with your poo versus okoroawusa poo. Face the reality on ground and stop talking rubbish

Ihedioha still have time.

He is just starting

From what Ihedioha did this early time, there will be no time for Orlu to have its time. Population drift from Orlu to Owerri shall multiply with Ihedioha building his new city in Owerri after refurbishing the public water supply of Owerri. Orlu will never recover from this.

Governor Ihedioha has appointed his brother Inlaw Chibuzor Iwuagwu as "head of service" causing public outcry. This is in addition to appointment of his blood younger sister as SSA protocols.

It saddens Me on how Imo State had remained stagnant since the inception of ihedioha. You can even tell by how this forum no longer have tangible content to build the forum.

Don't judge Ihedioha with the dryness of this forum. Abagworo, who always updated this thread, is a Rochas' apologist, and he's still angry that his stooge lost the guber election.

There's a regime change now. Abagworo's time belongs the history books. The trending guy is Aic Akwarandu, the governor's aide on new media, I suppose.

Follow him on Facebook as he films and uploads daily activities of the state governor. However, most of his projects are still at foundational level and will take time to be completed.

Yes, a lot is happening in Imo State just that Nairaland is no longer the right platform for getting the latest gist as it drops.

The link above is a testament that the present government is taking steps to open up other smaller towns to the public. He recently bypassed the various hotels and event centres in owerri and went down to Crystal lake resort Oguta to host the retreat for the expanded executives.

But i guess since its not your precious Orlu this would make no sense to you.

Hmmm. So taking a meeting to a hotel outside Owerri has become opening up of Oguta?
You get sense at all? They were talking about extending water and housing to other towns, to open those towns outside state capital.

I have since come to understand we need to take the spin and propaganda coming from gov't with a truckload of salt!

All the tangible content we had from Rochas in 8 years....where has it left Imo State today? Honestly, besides a few public buildings he put up in Owerri, i can't see any lasting legacy and economic enablers to point to as gains of a 8 year Rochas admin'!

I'm still giving Ihedioha the benefit of the doubt....Rochas left a lot of debt, unpaid salaries/pensions/gratuities, and decrepit/non-existent critical infrastructure for him as a welcoming gift! Ihedioha secures $50m investment for Imo State
Published October 30, 2019

Chidiebube Okeoma , Owerri

The Imo State Government on Tuesday said that it was attracting $50m investment to the state.

A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Chibuike Onyeukwu, said the investment was coming through the Africa Export Import Bank.

The statement stated the effort was part of the governor’s plans to boost the economy of the state.

The statement stated, “Governor Emeka Ihedioha’s engagement with the international development agencies to aid his administration in the task of rebuilding the state has again yielded the desired results.

“The Africa Export Import Bank is set to make Imo State a huge investment hub by setting up an Africa Quality Assurance Centre for the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones in the country.

“The AfrExim Bank is an export-import bank which strongly supports expansion, diversification, promotion and development of intra-and inter-African trade.

“The $50m (N18bn) investment centre under the quality assurance facility of the bank, will provide certification and inspection services for products for exports from Imo State and other parts of the country to the international market.”

In obodo oyibo where we all go to feast our eyes on uniform development, this Inspection & Certification facility of Afriexim Bank does not have to be built in state capital.

It can be built in other locations to induce uniform development in a state.
Let's watch Imo state government regarding this.

Two months ago, a Federal Fire frighting School which could have been located anywhere outside congested Owerri state capital, was located in Owerri, the same Owerri which hosts all six universities and polytechnics in Imo state.

Owerri Location Madness has been going on in Imo state.

I doubt you know much about Imo State. Rochas contrary to what you wrote left a lot of money for him, robust economy, booming real estate, booming entertainment and hospitality, good roads, excelkent security and nightlife, rapidly growing IGR, top 5 GDP in Nigeria and the needed pan African attention through his foundation College of Africa. Ihedioha and a lot of the elite feel they have scores to settle with Rochas and embarked on destruction from the day of swearing in and refusing to maintain infrastructures in order to use them as tool of blackmail against Rochas but it won't work. Imolites have eyes and know how Imo was 2011 and how it was as at May 29th 2019 so if Ihedioha degraded Imo in 5 months or 6 months it does not in any way discredit Rochas Okorocha. Presently Ihedioha is already a hated Governor by majority and is hanging on based on zoning and clannish sentiments.

Had it been a good Governor was in place with no intents of vendetta he would have ridden on the gains of Rochas and Imo would be better for it.

This one happened today. A traditional ruler was attacked by State government for honouring Uche Nwosu during his coronation anniversary. This is one of the many actions of the present government that is drawing us backwards from a peaceful State to chaos.

Why showing a childish attitude?
Okorocha's in-law lost an election, and he moved on.
In your case, you refused to move on.

I am not your Abagworo or whatever you call me but a serious Imo citizen that dwells in truth and progress of my State. We can't all keep quiet while our State is run aground because we support one politician or the other. I love Imo State more than Rochas and Ihedioha so our development satisfies me more than their politics. I'm really not happy with the way things are going presently.

We that have foresight said it but some of you thought it was about Okorocha without using your inner mind. Okorocha loved Imo and that's why he made his people invest massively at home instead of abroad. I wish Ihedioha goodluck till the Judiciary does the right thing but if he scales through at the tribunals then it will only take a miracle for him to return Imo back to a development hub it was when he resumed in May this year.
