Chimezirim121: Stop spewing nonsense. With all your Igbo nonsense, we have never won the U-20 world cup or the world cup. Before the 2013 U-17 world cup, we used age-cheats to win three U-17 world cups. Tell me, what difference has having more Igbos in the team done for our overall achievements as a footballing nation? Our most prolific goalscorer remains a Yoruba man, Rashidi Yekini. He is also the first Nigerian to be crowned African Best Player. He was also the first Nigerian to score in the World Cup. The first Nigerian footballer to be shortlisted for Africa's best player award was a Yoruba man, Segun Odegbami. Odegbemi was also the first Nigerian player to win the golden boot in any footballing competition (1980). Ahmed Musa is Nigeria's highest goalscorer in our world cup history. He is not an Igbo man. With all your Igbo nonsense, Amuneke was the only Igbo who scored in the 1994 world cup team. This is not meant to downgrade the Igbo's contribution to our football. Just to let you know that a right team selection is the best, not necessarily a team full of Igbos. Because a team full of Igbos has never won us even an U-20 world cup. We should place more emphasis on comprehensive club scouting. I know of a Hausa guy back in 2008 who had the deft touches of Okocha. He was lanky, but could last on the pitch, dribbling, throwing passes, and all. We used to call him Mai Mai to mimick Jay Jay. Where is that guy today. He has probably forgotten football and gone to farming or cattle business. Generally, Hausas don't really play football. But once in a while, you find one or two potential stars in their clubsides who our coaches would then ignore until the boy abandons football and joins the family business. This is not about tribe. If the Igbos are ordinarily so good, we would have won more than we have won. But there is really no difference. 9 Likes |

stagger: My brother religion takes the praises of what really works. If the boys were techanically good with a good defence and game plan they would have surely won because the talent was there. They didn't have all these things but relied on prayer to complete it or complete them it failed. For teams that have all these in place they don't need to pray before they can win. That's why prayer has never made Super eagles win the world cup because things are still lacking in the team. Same thing happens to the sick.People get sick and get back to full wellness after going to the hospital but get back home and starts praising God.Whereas the truth is,if he had prayed alone and had not gone to the hospital death will be his case.So when you seperate what works and religion it is clear which actually works. You need to test the two singly and see what really works.Thank you |

Administratively, a lot went wrong with our team. The coach cannot tell us this is our best U17 team. Too much sorting and bribes must have made them to loose focus and centralized the team on a particular tribe. It's all about bidding for shirts with money not performances anymore. This is a shame to us and to the sport in general. It's obvious Manu is broke maybe so much has not been given to him for what he had done for the country. I really do not blame the coach. |

majamajic: First of all, it is NFF that organizes friendlies, not Rohr. Second, the number of players trooping into the Super Eagles are not Rohr's work alone. We have a technical team selected by NFF which keeps tabs on development, including on player overall ratings. Some of these players have already debuted for or have been invited even before Rohr came onboard. We have always had them. Someone like Troost Ekong was first invited by Stephen Keshi. I think Leon Balogun was also first invited by Keshi. 1 Like |

PrecisionFx: I know that . What I am saying is, despite winning the U17 world cup 5 times, such performaces have not resulted in improvements to the senior side.,..to the point where we should be competing up to semi-final, even final level at the World Cup. In the 1980's Pele predicted, after seeing our 1987 U17 side, that an African side would win the World Cup by 2000. Sad that we haven't lived up to that promise. |
