Enugu State is building Govt House annex in Nsukka. In Delta state, nearly every important development project in the state capital, Asaba, is found also in Warri, lesser in other major towns of Delta state. Anambra state is not too different. But in Imo state, we have only Owerri. Before Owerri people, you don't dare mention extension of development institutions in Owerri to Orlu or Okigwe. Change 1 Like

Village: Owerri people take pride in calling Orlu and Okigwe villages; this is another most annoying thing in Imo state. If the modern public water supply systems slated for Okigwe and Orlu were built by IMSG which built Owerri public water supply system in the 1980s before military struck; and if tertiary education institutions extended to Orlu and Okigwe, instead of clustering all in Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu would have developed like Owerri. Orlu and Okigwe won't get called village by Owerri people today. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Ttipsy(f): 8:01am On Nov 14, 2019 |
Amah70:How do you mean by calling orlu a village?? is it because the useless government sitting in Owerri has practically refused to reconstruct roads,, and initiate an urban renewal projects in Orlu? Rochas administration obviously didn't do exactly what is expected in Orlu,, and we hope the new administrative will do,, without sentiments 1 Like |

Ttipsy: An educated gov devoid of clannish interests should understand that Rochas heaped all his development projects in the state capital, with his belief that he was wooing Owerri to support his son-in-law to succeed him. Thus gov Ihedioha ought to have faced first a serious urban renewal for Orlu and Okigwe. But you know what? It's like Ihedioha is trying to use what he called a 'non indegenes' visitation panel to recommend relocation of Imo state university teaching hospital from Orlu to Owerri. Even a goat knows that wherever a hospital is situated and is equipped and staffed well, sick people, even from India , and Owerri shall flood the teaching hospital for cure. 2 Likes |

Amah70: You forgot that the governors of the Imo State for the past 12 years or even more have came from Orlu or Okigwe. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Amah70: 3:00pm On Nov 15, 2019 |
Dedetwo: ..and those governors who came from Orlu and Okigwe concentrated on development of state capital; with the hope that their successor would shift focus to development of Orlu and Okigwe. Now a successor from Owerri arrives, you shift the development goal post to state governor develop his zone. See una pocket sense. That's the sense which has made Imo state the least developed state (except Owerri) in the SE. If Owerri didn't fight every governor who wanted to extend social infrastructures beyond Owerri zone, we should be having modern cities in Orlu and Okigwe by now. |
