Look at this product of jihad motivated university telling someone he have not attended a good university when they graduate they end up been fanatics and liars like lie Mohammed grin grin grin

Okay, don't complain when you go to your kids school, and see the female teacher dressed in a micromini skirt, and a bikini top, teaching your kids.

Or don't complain when a female doctor comes to attend to you dressed similar.

Because dressing properly means that somehow you support jihad, and are a fanatical muslim to you.

(Guess I should stop dressing formally to work, and just wear a singlet, and boxers, so that you don't mistake me for an ISIS bomber. By the way, that means that all those bankers who dress corporate are advancin g the cause of jihad...wow!)

For you to know it's better than most of the schools in the west you must have attended most of the schools in the west.

As for dress codes. You moan about unviersity dress codes, but if a female doctor came to attend to you wearing a micromini skirt, with a sleveless blouse displaying her cleavage....you would complain. Or if a female teacher did the same when teaching your children(Yes, the dress conde exists in the workplace..just as bad as the unviersites). Dress codes are preparing you for the world tomorrow...where companies and institutions do the same in the name of corporate image.

Like the lawyers...why is it ok for lawyers to have a dress code, and not unviersites?
1) You literally have no idea how my doctor dresses and I would not give a f**k how my doctor dresses.
When I meet a doctor, I am only concerned about their knowledge.
2) The world of today and tomorrow doesn't give a f**k about how you dress. Ladies in my office wear shorts and nobody bats an eyelid because at the end of the day, we only care about your work.
3) When you attend a good university, you will know serious schools don't have time for this kind of thing.

1.I am a doctor. In training, we are also taught that dressing is important.
2.That's your office, your office is not representative of all offices.
3.ABU is a good university. And does have time for the academic side of thigs..plenty of time.(I know people who went there after all).Plus there are many other universites that have codes.

Dressing is subjective.

This thinking is why Nigerians are religious and corrupt at the same time. Always bothered about the irrelevant things.

A criminal is a criminal whether he wears suit or jeans.

1.But of course...we have to dress well, because some people already have this image.
2.That's a generalization. But, I'll leave it at that.
3.And you assumed that because ABU has a dress code, it isn't into research. Or doing 'university things'. Besides, most Nigerian universites need funding in the billions of naira to attract quality facilites, and staff for research. Plus, we need to harden up standards in our education system.

P.S...Having a dress code does not mean that you want to implement jihad. Dress codes are basically training you for the job market...where there are many isntitutions and companies that have the same dress codes and uniforms. Some are even needed for safety (eg...if I have to be in the theater, I have to wear a baggy theater gown for health and safety. Lab techies have to wear lab coats for their safety, and so on. ).

Plus, some, if not all professions have an image that consists of being formally dressed among other things. ABU has for example a very large Faculty of Education which trains many primary and secondary school teachers. And most parents expect Mr or Ms teacher to be dressed properly.

Thus, Nigeria becoming a Sultanate.

So what difference do you make?

They are only trying to merge morality and discipline with education, you should expect that from a Nigerian university situated at Muslim dominated area, abi u wan make dem dey dress like universities in the east. That is why we are unique. It isn't a must we be like the west.

Dress codes are basically training you for the job market....

This is bullsh**t.
There are two skills you need for the job market.
1) People skills
2) Technical skills (skills you need to do the job)

No matter how you dress, if you don't the two skills above, you are on a long thing.

Back to ABU
When you attend "good schools", you'll see that nobody literally gives a f**k about what you wear.
Lecturers are concerned whether their students are learning or not.
When a lecturer meets a good student, the lecturer thinks about mentoring the student or finding a good mentor for the student.
When the lecturer meets a struggling student, the lecturer is concerned about why the student is struggling and how they can help.

If the management of ABU was seriously concerned about funding for research, they wouldn't have time to think about students dressing.

You are condemning a school but your first two posts have grammatical errors. Shame on you. Many years back, ABU and one other University in Egypt were the only two accredited schools in Africa. They lost the best of lecturers they had which were mostly foreigners because of frequent religious crises. Besides, most of the students there are even from the southern part of the country.
