You make sense bros

But I still think we will beat Denmark and Austria

I should say possibly because it will be a friendly and to be honest anything can happen.

However, in a tournament settings it becomes a Totally different situation.

Do you remember when we dismissed Denmark in the 1998 Workd cup and we were thoroughly flogged and disgraced by them.

great point bro nothing more to be said

ILLICITblood:
Good morning House

on Jamilu Collins

I've read the back and forth between Thesupernerd and other monickers on the fellow and this is my two cents

Collins is not as bad as alot of people here want to paint him to be

Yeah,we need an upgrade but Idowu?? Really??

sha,every mallam with him kettle

against Benin Republic, he was beaten too easily by a fast winger, speed ain't his strength.. but other than that,He hardly did anything wrong in that match

Defensively, He cleared alot of balls and the Beninese couldn't get past him

and Offensively, ask any one who watched the match,he was a Darling to watch.. he created about three chances plus he had this solo run whereby he nutmegged a player and dribbled past the second.. He was unlucky not to have an assist there

like i said, Yes he is not the best out there

But he is certainly not as bad as painted

long Live this thread.... long live the super eagles.. long live Nigeria

But odey plays regularly.

See, Nacho is even behind Ayize Perez. Of vardy injures today, Perez would be starting at that position. How can someone be behind vardy and yet has just 2 starts??. Let's be honest, Brendan tells the media one thing (praises nacho) but does another (just 2 starts). You sef, think am now

I had this discussion with TheGoodJoe quite some time ago and he was up in arms that l was essentially being biased and talking rubbish.

I don't know Brendan Rogers personally. But l know a few players and agents who do. And they all say he is TWO FACED.

But that's not relevant as such what Managers day in the press and what they believe and or say off camera are TWO DIFFERENT THING'S.

Brendan has no time for KC that's the reality. But also all the Managers he has played under have found him WANTING. That's three different managers you really can not get more emphatic than that.

There’s a lot of talk on Benzema potentially playing for Algeria. To do so, he’d have to terminate his French nationality (renounce his citizenship). Thoughts?

God keep Osi for us we pray no injury for him.
To blazes with Tammy
Our defense is a big suspect conceding early under 20mins in 2 consecutive matches
Rohr must scout for better options for the back 4

Do you know there are league two teams that have held thier own with Epl teams that doesn't put them on the same standard.

Was it not a league two team that beat Leicester City in the Cup last season. But they still didn't do much more that season.

I remember Southend playing Arsenal a few years ago and almost winning the game.

In cup games anything is possible.

If you put Sadiq Umar in league two honest no bias he will struggle. You said he held his own OK how many goals did he score ❓ over the two legs and you know a lot of thier youth player were in that team.

So how did he hold his own bros.

Let me not be biased and negatively subjective.

Why would you consider Ozonwafor ❓ Irrespective of club and league.

Using my never ending proposition for identification.

Has he been consistently consistent with top class outstanding performances for clubland league over time.

Because you have said he is better than Uduokhai and Iorfa. I personally don't think Uduokhai is better than Iorfa from the few times l have watched him play.

I am curious know what your view is which is mostly objective.

Adarabioyo has been dissapointing from day one IMO playing pretty football at Man city. It simply doesn't prepare for the harsh reality of physically intense football in the EPL and Championship.

Not surprisingly Adarabioyo was woeful at WBA he has gone to a struggling Blackburn. Where it is all hands on deck and he may have learned very quickly.

I say this because first time I really watched Tomori playing RB for Hull city he was average if not below. Now he has improved so much in one season he is playing for England.

Players improve with time although not all.
tomori played only 8 minute for England and they did all that just to cap tied him. If he get up to 5 caps for England, he should go to any pentecostal church to give testimony.

Anyways the way this guy has been treated is simply disgraceful. He made a mistake and apologized.

You supriseme with this comment.

Tell me what team in the EPL will buy a striker who has scored 5 goals over three seasons in the EPL.

Then add his huge transfer fee and wage demands.

I think he may decide to run his contract down because nobody will pay £15 million for him now.

Championship clubs will look at him as not suited and or good enough if they have promotion ambitions.

So Turkey is his best bet at the moment so he may get half of his current pay but because of the favourable tax regime. He may end up with the same money.

Furthermore, the football thier is not as taxing and he may be able to score once again.

The Bank-on Candidates to be Osimhen's genuine back-up especially as regards how we play in attack now...

The "bonafide" options:

- David Okereke

- Sadiq Umar

- Peter Olayinka

- Cyriel Dessers

- Kelechi Iheanacho (once that January move happens and he gets playing again and keeps showing good form)

The Dark horse Option(s); In with a chance probably in the long run if they step things up:

- Stephen Odey

- Josh Maja

- Taiwo Awoniyi

The "Manage-manage/mediocre" options (Not suited to how we play in attack):

- Ebere Paul Onuachu

- Simy Nwankwo

- Anthony Ujah

Sadiq Umar seems to be the best option though he is not playing in a top league. Followed closely behind by Okereke based on club form. I don't think Rohr rates the Dutch league else Dessers should have been the number one bonafide option.

However, if Kelechi, Maja and Awoniyi who are in better leagues get to play and score goals consistently for one month, forget those bonafide options ever making the team ahead of them. In fact, Kelechi will be the first to regain his place in the national team ahead of everyone here due to..wetin we know but I don't know if there situation will ever change.

NB: Peter Olayinka is better on the LW.

I must admit I'm loving Osimhen all round play plus this synergy he has with Samu.
However, I think he needs to work on his finishing.. Not necessarily his finishing, more of the way he strikes the ball.
WE are seeing two sides of him right now... The one that latches on passes on the break with breathtaking pace and the link up target man type.

great result from the team. yes you might say it's just "Lesotho" however the manner that we battered them was impressive. This is what the Super Eagles of the 90s always did. once they faced a team they were clearly better than they would absolutely beat them into submission no room for any yeye upset. Didn't watch the match was at an engagement but even the MC of the event was letting us know what was up telling us scores at a point grin

Osimhen, Osimhen, Osimhen i remember when i was defending his call up when rohr has just taken over. i remember how i said he's a diamond in the rough who with time and patience could metamorphose into a beast of a striker for the National team. i remember saying that even the great Yekini took time to hit his stride. i remember forgiveness attacking me saying i was delusionally comparing victor to yekini. today it now looks plausible. Osimhen is most definitely not the finished article but he's making big strides game by game. before it was he falls down easily, next he's not strong to hold up play, can't compete against "elite defenders" little by little the boy is answering his critics. i pray he maintains that unquenchable hunger to improve and do well that the best players always display.

defence still needs a defender who can read and snuff out danger effectively. Ekong is my guy but he is still the front foot kind of defensive enforcer. same with omeruo. balogun who reads the game well is not the fastest at his best and his lack of game time and advancing age have affected him badly. hope we can find one asap with leon's game reading ability but with requisite pace and physicality.

enough has been said about how to address the fullback situation so i wont add to ILLICITblood's well written opinion on the matter.

midfield is almost their if the nff can pull off getting ejaria and ebere eze to don the GWG omo na better jollof our midfield go just dey dish out.

goalkeeping position is still not safe with akpeyi. i think this is the time for rohr to be brave and put faith in whoever is the best nigerian keeper in the NPFL and give him a run of games at least until okoye matures or uzoho is fit.

Supernerd has spoken well and analysed extensively the back up options to osimhen. whoever is in form or the next best person should be auditioned until it's eventually sorted.

My opinion on our coaching situation has not changed. rohr might not be the best tactically but overall his pluses over ride his negatives. if the nff is not sure of getting a good tactician if they decide rohr should go please they should let him be. better a moses that took you out of egypt going towards the promised land than some false Joshua who will lead you back to bondage
