Felicia clamped her thighs together and rested her head on her palms and prayed for Tinu and for forgiveness.
Father, by your mercy, don’t let Tinu and her baby die. Father, please, have mercy on me. Let your healing power flow here today.
She sighed and stood and began to pace the hallway of the hospital. This was her fault. The Holy Spirit had been nudging her to speak to Jaiye about Tinu for over two weeks but she shunned Him. She had shunned the Spirit of truth. Look at the result of her foolishness.
Father, please let your mercy speak today.
Tears stung her eyes. She never would have raised the issue up with Jaiye if not for the dream Dapo said he had. The boy had seen his mother looking ghoulish, with the ability to save a drowning pregnant woman but walked away and the woman drowned. Tinu and her baby’s blood would be on her hand if anything happened to them. A sob escaped her lips. She fumbled her phone out of her pocket. She had to call her prayer partner.
“Hello.”, he said, picking up after the third ring.
“Hello, Jaiye?”, she sobbed.
“Felicia, are you ok? What happened at the prison?”, he asked alarmed.
“Jaiye, please can you pray with me? Please we need mercy. Tinu has to be operated on to save her and the baby’s lives. Jay, I need mercy. Jay, I need mercy…”, she sobbed harder and clamped her hand on her mouth to muffle her sobs.
“Felicia, calm down. Psalm 86 verse 5 says for thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. And more importantly, the bible says in Hebrews For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in….”
“Time of need.”, Felicia completed. She wiped her tears. “Jaiye, I can’t string a decent prayer point together now.”
“Lean not on your own understanding. Pray in the spirit for…”,
“The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”, she completed again. That was his favorite verse to quote whenever they prayed together before they began to speak in tongues.
“Lean on the Spirit, my love. I’m on my way to court but I’ll be praying here as well.”, he said.
“Thank you, Jay.”, she said and sniffled.
“All will be well. The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much. I’ll call Brother Matthew and Sister Faith in Intercessory Prayer department. Just have faith. Prayers move mountains.”, he said.
“Thank you, love.”, she said and he hung up. She wiped her tears and began to mumble prayers in another tongue, the heavenly tongue. She paced the length of the hallway as she prayed.

At first, rage coursed through her to hear it was a woman he was talking to but at she paid closer attention her anger faded into curiosity and worry.
“MJ, we are taking this revenge too far. We already put Tinu in Jail. Why on Earth do we have to kidnap her baby?”, Gabriel said sternly.
“I lost my own baby too. Or don’t you remember? And you are saying this revenge thing. Is it not your blood brother we are avenging? The son of your father and mother.”, MJ replied.
“MJ, we are taking it too far.”, Gabriel said.
“Too far is killing the baby like they killed Simon. I’m only going to have the baby taken to an orphanage.”, MJ said offhandedly.

millieademi:
Chapter 2
He smiled as he watched Nenye and his mother get along swimmingly. He couldn't believe the two women he cherished were together and adored each other. He was relieved. He met his mum's deadline and got to see Nenye in his mother's niche and it was like putting a freshwater fish in freshwater.

She caught him staring at her from the corner of her eye and smiled. She felt honored he saw her serious enough to introduce her to his mother. The woman was an epitome of strength and wit. Her eyes held years of experience and she wanted to learn a lot. She listened attentively to all her stories.

He cringed as his mother shared stories of his childhood antics. Nenye was surprised when the woman told her Délé till he was thirteen could not sleep with the light turned off.

"So what would happen if there was no power supply?", Nenye asked in between guffaws.

"Well, I had rechargeable lamps and lanterns.", the woman explained giggling.

" Not so macho, huh?", Nenye teased him still laughing.

He groaned in embarrassment. "Did you have to tell her?", he asked frowning at his mother.

"What? She deserves to know.", she answered with a mischievous smile on her lips. " You know Nenye, I remember when he was three, he always wanted to be a girl after watching Sound of Music. So he would wear my dresses and tie my wrappers and twirl around and dance.", she mocked and Nenye burst into laughter and started singing Edelweiss at him.

"Ugh", he groaned and he left the sitting room.

" Common, Captain von Trapp, sing with me", Nenye called after him before sharing a laugh with his mother.

✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴
"I had fun today.", Nenye announced as he parked the car a couple of blocks away from her house.

" I'm glad", he smiled.

"Thanks.", she said taking his hand in hers.

" For what? ", he asked.

" Taking me to see her."

He smiled and held her hand, "I should be thanking you. I thought you'd run the other way when I mentioned seeing my mum."

She giggled, "Actually, I was nervous and I wanted to say no but the pull is so strong, I ended up saying yes."

"I'm grateful then for the effect I have on you.", he boasted. She smiled and kissed him passionately and pulled away. He was left dazed and she flashed him a naughty smile.

" I believe I'm the one with an effect on you.", she gloated.

"Two can play that game, tease.", he sounded the war cry and pulled her in for a knee-buckling, insides-melting, mind-blowing kiss.

It took her a few seconds and fluttering her lashes to regain consciousness. " Point taken", was all she could say and he smiled in triumph.

"When will I see you again?", he asked as he caressed her cheek.

" I don't know. Dad didn't say how long he wants me to stay in Abuja. Can I see you tomorrow? At the airport? ", she muttered in sadness.

" Nenye, I don't like this. When will you tell your parents about us? I'm serious about you. If you were ever in doubt, today should have cleared all your doubts. I'm tired of hiding in the shadows like what we have is some illicit affair. I hate the fact I have to drop you off blocks away from your house. I hate that I never pick you up from your house. I hate that I can't drive you to the airport tomorrow. I feel as if I'm unworthy of your love.", he lamented.

A tear rolled down her cheek. "Délé, do you think I don't want to hold your hand and show you off to everybody? Délé, I love you. I just need you to be patient.", she consoled.

" Here we go again, Nenye.", he scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Délé, don't do this to me. This isn't how I want to remember today.", she pleaded. " Give me time, Délé. I'll tell them. I promise. I'll swear on my life if you want me to.", she begged.

He saw the pain in her eyes and conceded, "There's no need to swear. I believe you. I just wish you'd tell them sooner."

"I promise I'll tell them before our monthsary", she vowed seriously. He smiled insincerely. She reached for his ticklish areas and tickled him.

" Nenye, stop.", he cried amidst laughter. She didn't heed his request and kept on at it till he captured her hands in his and gave her a doze of her own medicine. She laughed and pleaded for him to stop. He stopped after tormenting her for a while.

"Always know I love you", she declared as she panted for air.

" Me too.", he said and rested his forehead on hers.

So what do you think Nenye is hiding?

I also think she's double dating. Nice story milleademi

This is my leap of faith, guys. A character from a movie I love said La foi peut déplacer des montagnes. I'm really hoping it's true.

Here goes nothing.

"Why didn't you tell me she had not eaten yesterday?", he asked on the verge of anger.

"Sir, she begged me to let her fast for two days. She said she wanted to pray for you. I let her and she has refused to break since morning.", she explained afraid.

He sighed and hoped she was not intending to fast for seven days. He remembered she'd fast for months when he was younger for his success and her prayers had worked miracles for him. She also prayed and fasted for her husband to come back. But that was one prayer he knew God had no intention of answering.

He sighed and muttered, " Where is she?"

The middle-aged woman nodded and led the way to the sitting room where his mother sat weakly on a sofa, hitting her thighs together. She was hungry. She did that every night she had given him the last meal in the house. She would smile as she watched him eat. When he was younger he didn't know what it meant so he'd eat till his heart's content.

Whenever he asked her why she did that, she would say it was natural, something all mother's did. It was until he got into secondary school he understood and when he saw her hitting her thighs together, he'd stop eating and beg her to eat the rest of the food.
She closed her eyes so she didn't notice when he crouched in front of her. She raised her head only when he kissed her hands. She smiled and ran her hand through his hair and muttered his eulogy. He smiled and kissed her hand again and held it in his. He could see right through her. She always did that when she didn't want him to see her pain or when she wanted to ask for something.

"Mrs. Ladipo, please excuse us", he ordered in an polite tone.

" Yes sir.", she answered and left.

"Mummy, what is it?", he asked in concern.

" Délé, how old are you? ", she inquired.

" God!", he groaned, realizing where the topic was headed. He couldn't believe he left everything just to come and face the one thing he didn't want to hear.

Hello,my lovelies. How's the day going? As if Ikeja Electric had a vendetta against me, there's been no light. And I can't cry.

Anyway, update will be in a bit.

And we made FP again. (Can I get a whoop whoop?) Thanks for the love fam. I love you all. So now I'm at a crossroads. And maybe we can resolve it together.

Ose is a character I love. Because he is the entire reason behind the second book. (Wait and find out how)

Should I give him a love interest or forget about it?

Please let's send in our views. Thank you.

Felicia followed the guard to the solitary confinement cell area. She waited patiently as the man unlocked the cell grumbling under his breath. She crossed her arms over her chest and watched the man feign ineptitude, fumbling the padlock.
Whether you like it or not,you will open this gate today.
It wasn’t her fault the mad director chose to vent his frustrations out on him. All she wanted was for the pregnant woman in solitary confinement receive medical care and proper feeding. She didn’t even commit the offense she was even being punished for. The man opened the door and Felicia went in and caught Tinu lying on the floor. She thought she was sleeping untill she saw the blood streaming down her legs. She tapped Tinu but she didn’t wake up.
“Help!”, she screamed on top of her voice. She brought two fingers to the inside of Tinu's wrist and screamed with all the air in her lungs, “Help!.”

Dele knocked the door again and waited for Ajiri to open the door. He could hear the sound of children laughing. He knocked again. God, what was the woman doing? He knocked again and rang the doorbell. He heard an I’m coming.”. A few seconds after, the door opened. The worried look on Ajiri’s face transformed into a scowl. He didn’t have time for her petty quarrels.
“I’m just coming from the prison. Tinu is in solitary confinement.”, he said.
“What?!”, Ajiri shouted in shock.
“The guards there told me she beat someone up.”, he explained.
“Tinu that can’t slap a mosquito to save her life?”, Ajiri asked. She invited him in and went to get her phone from the coffee table.
“Babe, they said Tinu beat someone up and she’s in solitary confinement.”, she rattled off to her husband who was refereeing the game of Scrabble between Temi and Tega. She saw Tóminí blowing raspberries on Chris’s stomach and watching him giggle in delight.
“Good afternoon, I’m Illiya.”, Ajiri said from his seat as referee.
“Dele.”, he said.
“Why aren’t the children in school?”, he asked and caused the children to look up.
“If you aren’t blind…”
“AJ”, Illiya scolded. “Children, can’t you greet?”, he said sternly. They all mumbled discordant good afternoon sirs and resumed their recreational activities.
“The children contracted chicken pox from school. They just recovered.”, Illiya explained.
“I’ve been calling Demola. He isn’t picking my calls. Babe, I have to go down to the prison. I’ve changed and fed Zino. Can you keep an eye on the children? Grace is with Zino so she should be good for now. But she'll be going to the market later.”, Ajiri asked fretting.
“Of course. Tega, go and bring the baby monitor.”, Illiya instructed.

“MJ, we are taking it too far.”, Gabriel said.
“Too far is killing the baby like they killed Simon. I’m only going to have the baby taken to an orphanage.”, MJ said offhandedly.
Tanya gasped and left the doorway. Only God knew what they could do to her if they found out she had been eavesdropping on their not so quiet conversation. Tinu had been a good boss to her while she was a maid in her house but she had loved Gabriel more than any feeling of loyalty Tinu’s kindness could spur in her. But stealing her baby. All the maids knew how much Tinu wanted the baby. Even prayer warrior Grace carried the matter on her head and prayed about it whenever she had her disturbing night vigils.
To steal that baby was cruel. Gabriel didn’t want to do it, right? Maybe she could help thwart MJ's plan. She pulled out her phone and texted her boss’s father-in-law. If he chose to ignore it then it was no longer her problem. She removed the SIM she had bought for the purpose of sending the anonymous text messages to Chris and broke it.
✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴
Dele looked up when his phone vibrated. Ajiri had gone home to take care of the children and he was left alone with the prison evangelist woman who had been muttering prayers in tongues since they got there hours ago. The woman reminded him of his mother who always prayed as though her life depended on it. She was probably praying too. She had said she would pray together with Donald for a successful CS for Tinu when he called her.
He brought out his phone and saw a text from Mr. Jason Oduah. “If you know you want your granddaughter alive and well and with your family you better be alert. Else, you will lose her and lose her forever.” Dele was confused. He saw an incoming call from Mr. Jason Oduah and he answered it.
“Dele, are you alone?”, the man asked as soon as Dele picked the call.
“Yes, sir”, he answered warily and walked away from the praying woman.
“I just got that text I sent you. The one threatening Regina.”, the man explained.
“Sir, what do we do?”, Dele asked.
“I am friends with the head paediatrician. Once, Regina is delivered, I’ll have them change her name to Patricia. Listen and listen carefully. Noone can know about this. The name that will be written on her incubator is Patricia Daramola. Do you understand? Tinu will be told her baby is dead….”
“What?”, Dele exclaimed.
“Look, I don’t care about Tinu. All that matters to me is the life and safety of my granddaughter. After a few days, Tinu will return to prison. You will have to stay in the hospital as the parent of the baby. When she is mature enough, I will fly her out of the country to be with C… her cousin. Margaux will raise her.”, the man explained.
“Ok, sir. I’ve heard you.”, Dele said.
“Thank you.”, the man said and hung up.

✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴
Dele paced round the paediatric wing of the hospital. He had to meet the head paediatrician. Discuss with him. No, the man could be a loyal friend of Jason Oduah. He had to be cautious. He was about to double cross Mr. Oduah in his own turf. Caution was the rule of the game. He brought out his phone. He needed advise. His mother would know what to do. As he typed in his password, he walked smack into someone and his phone fell out of his hand.
“You youngsters and your phones.”, the elderly man complained as he dusted and smoothened out invisible drinks in his starched, white coat.
“I apologise, sir.”, Dele said and bent to pick up his phone. He looked up and met the scowling aged face of the one man he hated the most in the entire cosmos.
His father.
The man’s scowl faded as he stared at Dele. Why did his eyes look so familiar? He had to have seen those eyes somewhere. But where?
“I’m sorry. Excuse me.”, Dele said and turned to walk out of the wing. He wanted to do so many things to the man. To gloat, to hit him, to ask him how he could throw his wife and son away and never look back, how he could believe the lies of his brother and how he slept at night.
