I understand this can start the vehicle. How do they now drive it away? The Fob has to remain in close proximity of the vehicle for it to continue running, no?

I don't think there is need for the key fob to be present in the car at all times.

I remember when my 2003 accord key broke, since it had an immobilizer chip in the key, the key blade will not start the car on its own until the key fob is attached. But once engine starts, you can even leave the key fob behind and drive a unlimited miles.

It seems the system only depends on the key for authentication to start the engine but once engine is running, car doesn't require further key verification.

I may be wrong but i guess it will drive.

Anything electronic is UNSAFE.
Bank account, Computer Data of any kind, simcards, every Electronic you own....
Everything electronic is unsafe. Somebody can hack it and you won't even be aware till it's all gone.

I hope this world can reset back to manual and analogue technology.

True.

That's why I frown at the idea of electronic voting or transmission of results in Nigeria.

The key fob uses the same kind of batteries used in risk watches, so best option will be to remove the key fob battery when not in use.

That's why I ask you ,it about cheap labour or what?

These guys are producing there because of cheap labour,it's not as if China is adding something special to their product.

They make the design,not China.

A relay is a switch that closes circuits using electronic or electromechanic means. For example I can build a circuit that lights up a bulb. I can make the switch of that circuit to open or close in the presence of a magnetic field. I can make the switch with a magnet such that its external (exposed) side is a north pole and it can only open towards the outside of the circuit. So if I bring the south pole of a magnet towards the the closed switch then the switch will open since its now attracted to the magnet. To close the switch, I just bring the north pole of the magnet towards it and the switch is repelled and closed. This is a simple operation of a relay circuit.

Tracker. Install tracker, abi they go around with signal/ frequency jammer??

This is probably easy to hack into that vehicles using normal keys.
I thought a car steering cannot rotate without key to unlock it or these ones unlocked automatically when the signal is capture?

yea thats software aspect and china leads in hardware, its not all about cheap labour cheap labour exist everywhere in the world, go to parkistan and poor countries, there is cheap labour, ,
its about the technology , china has the technology,,(hardware technology)
america has the knowledge(software design and programming)
your android phone needs hardware and software to function, the software is the android os which is owned by Google(america)
the hardware is the physical components ,ic diodes microchips etc,
for iphone, america makes the design and china manufactures it, ,,,, the software (ios) is owned by american but the hardware moherboard microchips, is made in china
so America cant do without China in the present economy

The chip,ic used on your hardware are manufactured by which companies? Where are these companies from even though they produce in China?

You think other countries can't manufacture hardware like China? Where do Russia and America produce their military equipment?

Get a pedal or a steering lock. But best solution I have seen so far is Diagnostic Port Lock. More like the OBD11 port lock.

No the fob doesn't have to be in close proximity to drive the car, so long has the engine is not turned off it can be driven.
