Dele’s mum or Tamara

Could Dele's father be the head paedetrician?
Why is Mr Oduah so wicked towards Tinu, I just hope Dele does the right thing now.

Thanks for the update ma'am, each one is a bomb kiss

Chuksdavis:
I think you are letting the story flow out in any direction as you type. You don’t have it completely thought out. That’s just by the way. Thanks for entertaining us with your wonderful writing skills. You might be good at many other things but I think this (writing) is what you are born to do.

“Well, I need you to seduce my wife.”, he replied.

Well, I'm restless and impatient when it comes to outlining. I simply just want to write when I get an idea. I'm not yet J.K. Rowling who can spend 5 years outlining.

That's by the way. You're welcome, love.

And you're totally making me tear up and blush.

Ok, let me just me this clear. Though it will be stated in subsequent updates. Jason Oduah never wanted Tinu for his son. He only conceded to the marriage because of Chris's willpower and the love he has for his son.

We are soon going to find out just how much he loves his son.

Millie dear, hmmm! it will be unfair for me not to comment despite being a silent reader on NL. You are good, Almighty God will continue to inspire you more. This is just the beginning for you.
Do u what? I ve read alot of novels, Sydney Sheldon, Hadley Chase and the likes so i know a good story when i read one.
Patiently reading the story since i came across it since yesterday, you kept me glued to my phone. Yet i was looking for how to judge your story but today you brought out the HIGH POINT of the story.
Bringing back Dele's father into the picture is what ve been waiting for, without Fola, Jola, and Dele's mum your story would have been incomplete.
But mehn! you are born to to do this.
Kudos to you, you made my reading worthwhile.
Waiting for more updates.

Awwwn, Millie! U posted so much updates and I wasn't around, I'm ashamed of myself for not logging in on nairaland for so long.

The twists, the onslaught of new characters, everything has me like....I'd have used emojis but u know na...

Tinu's suffering broke my heart, the guards were brutal!

Mr. Oduah's hate and all these hate for Tinu, me I'm not understanding o, I don't get why someone would just hate someone so deeply!

Dele's father should interfere and save Regina from the clutches of her grandfather or a pending orphanage home, they're not as rosy as they seem.

On a lighter note, I have to admit that I mixed up the Roses siiiince B4 this shit got serious even, I just started putting them together now.

Millie, u really really really did well with all these updates, it's a masterpiece, ur choice of words, the plot, ur twists. Everything is muah!
Ur story touches us, it makes us feel a variety of emotions, from anger, to fear, to love and even lust=_= and that's really something.
You've done a really good work babe, words can't express how much we all appreciate u.

Firstly this is the first time I'm commenting on a literature thread, secondly, I'II be goofing not to acknowledge the exuberant performance the author put up on this story, normally I'm not a fan of fiction, because most fictionally developed novels and writings without undergoing thorough reviews are just too flawed or predictable and dead on arrival, from a scale of 0-10 i will want to score Milli 9/10 and the remaining 1 is left for the culture, this is a Virtuoso performance i must say, your choice of words were liberal, moderate and top notch although some readers like myself revel in a tease of vulgar. I want to also commend the way you have been able to relate with your audience thereby instilling a robust relationship with the readers, it seems you know properly the work ethics of the various characters and scene thereby creating no vague and ineptness, the twists? We love all the twists never bother about that

Dr. Jola Ige dragged himself towards his office feeling drained and praying for the month to end. Then, his retirement would be official and he could relax peacefully at home. He wondered why the board would choose someone as lackadaisical as Dr. Owen Edoghame to replace him as head paediatrician. The man had not showed up for rounds for a week. The future of paediatriccs in the hospital was going to rest on the shoulders of an unreliable practitioner and in less than a month, it would cease to be his problem.
The eyes of the man he saw danced on his mind. Those eyes were so familiar but he couldn’t place his finger on whom he had seen them. Maybe he was the father of a child he treated. It had to be that. He settled his curious mind with that explanation.
“Doctor Ige.”, a nurse called as he passed by the nurses' station.
“Yes?”, he answered and turned to face them.
“You have mail.”, the nurse said and handed him some envelopes. He scanned through them. They were mostly invitations. Apparently, events would usher him into his retirement. A nurse ran into the station and panted, “Elsa left Roberto on the altar. She told him she still loves Guillermo.”
“What?!”, all the nurses exclaimed.
“The patient I went to give injection was watching it online.”, she said panting. One of the nurses nudged the rest to keep quiet thinking their brazen behavior was what made the doctor go ashen. They all busied themselves with little nothings hoping not to get scolded by the doctor.
They watched the man shake his head and gather his envelopes and leave without a word. They then turned to face the announcer.
“Mercy, didn’t you see Doctor Ige? You should have waited till he left before telling us that kind of news. I don’t want query o.”, a nurse said and continued filling out a form.
“Everybody knows Doctor Ige is either lecture or query. Frankly, I like my file the way it is. This one that he didn’t say anything. God please, I don’t want query.”, another nurse said fretting.
“Prisca, please I will follow you to your church. HR said if I get another query that is the end. God should let him forget about it.”, another one said.
“Assuming this stupid Doctor Edoghame will be responsible for once, shey Doctor Ige will not have retired since?”, the first nurse asked.
“That is by the way. Guillermo slept with Elsa after she returned to him.”, Mercy said in glee.
“Mercy, abi what are they calling you? Your head is not correct. It is because you are new, you are still doing yen yen yen yen yen yen yen yen. When you fill one of Doctor Ige's query and you have to answer a query five times, your sense that took vacation will return.”, Prisca said and grabbed a tray of tablets and pushed the nurse that cause the uproar earlier out of the way.
“Them no dey tell person.”, the nurse filling out the form said.
✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴
Jola Ige shook his head at his stupidity and forgetfulness. How could he have forgotten Elsa’s eyes? Her milky white eyeballs and ink black irises had haunted him day and night when he first met her. He closed the door of his office and hung his coat on the rack sitting on the door. He never loved any woman the way he loved her and she slept with his brother. His twin brother. He had trusted her and loved her with every cell in his body. He would have done anything to make her happy. He had taken up more shifts at the hospital he was working in then to buy all her textbooks and hand-outs. He worked himself to death to put her through school. And when she kept having recurrent miscarriages, he stood by her. But his love for her meant nothing to her. She slept with his brother and lied that he raped her. He would never have believed the innocent young lady he fell in love with at the hospital would turn out to be a viper.

He groaned and collapsed onto the waiting room bench, nearly squashing the demure lady beside him. He apologized offhandedly without really meaning it and wondered why he had been posted to a town on the outskirts of Lagos with close to zero hospitals. He could count the number of hospitals he had seen and been to on the fingers of one hand and they had all told the same thing. We don’t need a corper? Why on Earth wouldn’t they need a youth corper? He didn’t want to teach. All his mates had opted for schools and he wanted to make an impact, to save lives and to help people. He didn’t want to be writing lesson notes and marking assignments. If he did, he would have studied biology education. He looked out of the window and saw the yellow sun happily going about its quest to bake everything it radiated on. He wasn’t going to leave the breeze of this OX standing fan yet.
He noticed the lady beside him reading a book. He read a couple of lines and was intrigued. He leaned closer unconsciously to make out its title. The lady noticed him and scooted over to the other end of the bench and eyed him with disdain as though he had been untoward with her. Was she angry he wanted to learn the name of the novel she was reading or because his apology earlier on was insincere?
“I’m sorry for the way I sat earlier.”, he said. He saw the error of his way and he didn’t need to make enemies in a small town like this one. He wanted a peaceful service year.

“Don’t talk to me. I know what you corpers are capable of?”, she said haughtily as if he was a bacteria and so beneath her. Was he in a town where previous corpers had being mischievous and ruined the reputation of youth corpers? But everyone had been kind to him since he arrived. Or was it the same kind of kindness one showed a Christmas chicken. Feed it well and take care of it till December comes and then you slaughter it.
“What might that be?”, his curiosity and nerves spurred him to ask.
“I know what you corpers do to women. How you get them pregnant and abandon them all for your enjoyment.”, the lady answered and flipped to the next page. He raised an eyebrow. Did she think he could get her pregnant by merely talking to her?
Small town people and their small minds.
“You do know how pregnancy occurs?”, he asked. He had seen her reading a novel with heightened grammar. She must be educated. She ought to have learnt how pregnancy came to be.
“Of course.”, she said and turned to face him. He was taken away by how white her eyeballs were and how dark her irises were. “And I know how you corpers make it happen. How you resort to diabolical means to get girls and all what not. Guess what. I’m not going to fall into that trap.”, she stated and continued reading.
He could not hold back the boisterous laughter that left him

He could not hold back the boisterous laughter that left him. He heard her scoff but that didn’t stop his laughter. When he was able to strong two words together without laughing, he asked her, “Is that what you heard or what you watched on TV?” The look in her eyes told him it was the latter and he burst into ribcracking laughter.
“God, who will help me laugh?”, he said in between guffaws. Just how naïve was this woman?
He didn’t realize she looked much older than her sixteen years until he saw her in the school he finally decided to teach at. She was the assembly prefect and the principal had asked her to take him to the staff room and biology labs. Seeing her in her navy blue skirt and sky blue short sleeved shirt shocked him more than he could ever describe. And her embarrassment that Monday morning glued her tongue to the roof of his mouth and bent her head in shame. Through the journey from the principal’s office to the staff room, she answered all his questions by the move of her Atlas.
She avoided him like a plague or perhaps like a corper who could use diabolical means to get into her skirts. From what he heard from other teachers, she loved participating in the classroom, asking intelligent questions and giving brilliant answers to questions asked. But in his class, she became mute, deaf and an idiot. After listening to her answer ‘I don’t know the answer’ to the fifth question he asked her on Tuesday afternoon, and hearing one bespectacled girl sitting in front of him say absentmindedly 'But Elsa always knows the answer.’, he decided to punish her. He asked her to come to the biology lab to clean up and arrange specimens for the midterm practical test. She came, served her punishment and left without uttering a word of complaint. She got every question right on the midterm test but refused to contribute or participate in his class.
He decided to leave her alone. And he did so till she broke her arm while lifting speakers for the assembly one morning. The tripod stand for a speaker was weak and under the weight of the speaker it snapped and the heavy speaker fell on her arm. He had been assisting in the sick bay that morning due to the endemic catarrh that plague members of the town that time of the year. He made a splint for her and had taken her to the hospital since the school nurse was busy.
Her gratitude for his help thawed the ice in their teacher-student relationship. She began participating in his classes and he was awed by her intelligence and wit. She was better than so called science students and she topped the entire SSS3 at Mathematics. From what he garnered from teachers, she was the first choice for senior prefect but her father stood against her appointment. He didn’t want anything to distract her from her studies. The school and her father came to the compromise of Assembly Prefect.
He didn’t realize that the embers she had lighted in him at the hospital still glowed steadily till the preparation for the school’s Inter-House Sport Competition. Elsa hated sport and hid from tryouts and preparatory activities in the library or biology lab where she doodled impressive drawings of students running around. He had noticed her sketches of specimens were impeccable but seeing her draw animate objects, humans had wowed him. They got talking and he got carried away and forgot she was just a sixteen years old. He unconsciously allowed himself to fall for her and let the embers become flames. Before he knew what happened it was a bonfire and there was no dousing it then.
He thought he made the right decision by marrying her. He regretted it the morning he saw in bed with his brother. Of all things Fola was, he wasn’t a liar. And Fola would never betray him that way if he hadn’t been seduced.
✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴
Tinu’s lids fluttered open and she tried to move her left hand to cover her eyes from the piercing glare of the fluorescent light. She could only move it half way as it was tethered by a handcuff to the bed. She turned and saw the evangelist lady from prison stirring awake. Had she been there the whole time? She rested her right hand on her flatter abdomen. Her womb felt empty and panic washed through her.
“Where is my baby?”, her frog-like voice managed to croak before she burst into a fit of coughs. Felicia rushed to her side and brought a cold tumbler of water to her lips. Tinu drank like a fish that had been out of water. She gulped loudly and raised her hand to signal she was filled.
“Thank you.”, she said breathily and burped. “Where’s my baby?”, she asked.
“The doctor said she was delivered prematurely. She’s in a incubator.”, Felicia answered.
“Have you seen her? Is she ok? What does she look like? Can I go and see her?”, Tinu rambled on one breath.

“The doctor said she was delivered prematurely. She’s in a incubator.”, Felicia answered.
“Have you seen her? Is she ok? What does she look like? Can I go and see her?”, Tinu rambled on one breath and she tried to sit up but pain coursed through her pelvic area. She hissed in response.
“Be careful.”, Felicia pleaded and rested a hand on her shoulder. “The doctor said you suffered wounds and lacerations to your vaginal canal. So take it easy.”
Tinu sighed as she recalled what the guards had done to her. The pain was like lead in her heart but the thought of her baby blew it away like down feather. Her baby survived it. Her Regina survived it- the hunger and the rape. She survived it all. She chuckled with mirth and wiped the tears on her face.
“When can I go and see my baby?”, she asked.
“Im sorry but the guard was instructed not to let you leave this room. You’ll have to wait till she mature enough.”, Felicia said.
“What?!”, Tinu screamed.
“Im sorry.”, Felicia whispered. Tinu kept quiet for a minute and then grabbed Felicia’s hand out of the blue. “Felicia, please can you do me a huge favor?”
“Sure, anything.”, Felicia said.
Tinu sniffled and said, “Please can you check on her for me? So I can be sure she’s ok and safe and healthy. And please can you let me know what she looks like?”
Felicia wiped her tears with her free hand and nodded reassuringly. “Of course. I’ll even take a picture of her, if that’s allowed.”
“Thank you.”
✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴
Tinu’s mind designed and created possible features her baby could have. She probably be brown skinned like her. Maybe, she’d inherit Chris’s curly dark hair and pink lips. Then she’d probably look like Tóminí. Maybe she’d look like Chris's mother. Chris had shown her a picture of his mother and the woman was an icon of beauty. She was certain Chris got all his good looks from her. The woman had been more than fair skinned She had the curly hair Chris inherited. The only thing Chris inherited from his father were his height, complexion and probably business skills.
The sound of the door opening made her turn to the door smiling. She assumed it was Felicia returning with a picture of her Regina. Her expectant smile turned into a grin when she saw her visitors. It was Ajiri and her children. The twins ran to her bed screaming Mummy while Ajiri tsked in disappointment as she carried Zino and held Chris by the hand. She managed to close the door and walked to the bed with the toddler and infant in tow.
The twins jumped onto their mother's bed and she embraced them till they couldn’t breathe. He released them and looked at them. Temi’s hair was Fuller and styled into a punk. He wore a blue and red plaid shirt and light blue jean knickerbockers. Tóminí's dark virgin hair was sectioned, gelled and twisted. She was wearing a a floral patterned short dress with jean shorts. She kissed them and they laughed. She collected Chris and hugged him- the carbon copy of his father. He was dressed in the same attire as his older brother but his shirt was made of blue and white plaid. He said “Mummy, I miss you” and she teared up. He was still babbling and barely pronouncing words right when she last saw him.
“I missed you too. I missed you all.”, she said and kissed all of them again. She noticed the healing chicken pox scars on the three of them. “You had chicken pox?”
“Yes. Daniel brought it to school and gave everyone in the class.”, Tóminí babbled scowling. “They asked us to go home and Uncle Illiya brought us home. Aunty AJ rubbed caladine lotion on us.”
“Calamine lotion.”, Temi corrected.
“Calamine lotion.”, Tóminí corrected herself. “And mummy, Temi will be using glasses now.”
“Not yet. He complained he couldn’t see the board clearly from his seat when I went for their open day. I asked his class teacher to change his seat but he still complained. I took him for a test. The doctor asked us to include food rich in vitamin A in his diet. So I told the school. We’ll wait and see if his eyesight get better.”, Ajiri explained.
“Are you okay, my love?.”, Tinu asked and touched her son’s cheeks. He smiled and nodded. Tinu turned to her friend and held her hands. “Ajiri, thank you so much for taking care of my children. God bless you and Illiya. Thank you so much.”
“Psst.”, Ajiri scoffed. “What are you talking about? You would have done the same for me. So why are you thanking me? Besides, they’re good children, obedient and they don’t stress.”
“Still. You didn’t have to but you did. Thank you. Tell Illiya I said thank you.”, Tinu continued.
“Abeg, mama. Don’t you know where we’re coming from? I will now turn my back on you now? Illiya already knows that you were my first husband and I cannot let anything happen to you and yours. If you want to thank anybody, thank Grace. One of your former maids. She said she will stay to take care of the children. So don’t think I’m one Mary Poppins. I had a lot of help.”, Ajiri said smiling and yanked her hands out of Tinu’s hold.
Tinu smiled and was thankful for making friends with Ajiri in primary one. There had been fights and quarrels but they always came back together.
“How’s Tega?”, Tinu asked.
“He’s fine. He still wants to be doing Mummy’s baby at seven. He doesn’t want to accept that he is no longer the baby of the house and the only child.”, Ajiri complained as she walked to take a seat on the nearest sofa. She unstrapped her baby from the carrier in front of her and placed the girl on the sofa to sleep gently.
“How’s Illiya? And how is the business going?”, Tinu asked.
“He’s fine. He’s at accounting with Dele and his mum trying to sort out the bill. He’s going to launch a line of wedding dresses in two months. I hope everything goes according to plan.”, Ajiri said.
“Dele is around with his mum?”, Tinu asked as she rocked a sleepy Chris.

“The woman heard what happened and wanted to see you. And Délé’s been worried sick about you and the baby.”, Ajiri informed. Tinu nodded.
The twins noticing the conversation between the adults was over jabbered on and on about their friends and peculiar children in school. Tinu listened with rapt attention to their anecdotes about Gbenga the boy who always went back to sleep even after their hall mistress woke them up in the morning, Fisayo the girl who never did her assignments and Dapo, the boy who consoled Tóminí when she cried in school.

Illiya looked from Dele to his mother as he spoke. The guy wasn’t the seventeen horned beast AJ painted him out to be. Maybe he had made a few mistakes but he genuinely cared about Tinu and their children. The elderly woman had come all the way from Lagos to Abuja to help Tinu. People were simply grey- like yin and yang. Every good person could make mistakes.
“So what exactly do you need me to do?”, Illiya said.
“I just want to inform you about the plan. I don’t want it to seem like the custody issue. And the fewer the people that know about it, the better.”, Dele said.
“Ok. That’s cool with me.”, his phone vibrated and brought it out of his pocket. He checked the message he got from Ajiri. “Sorry, are we through? Zino's awake and her bottle is with me.”, he stated.
“Of course.”, Dele said.
“Please, I’ll go with you to Tinu’s ward.”, Délé’s mother said.
“Ok, ma.”, Illiya said and led the way with Délé’s mother in tow.
Dele brought out his phone. He had been calling the head paediatrician for days but the man didn’t pick his calls. He sighed and unlocked his phone. He saw a missed call from an unknown number. He was dialling the number to return the call when he heard an “Excuse me.” He turned around and saw his father.
“Yes?”, he asked snidely.
“Youre Elsa’s son, aren’t you?”, the man asked with an air of importance.
Elsa’s son.
The remark uppercut Dele. The man didn’t see him as his son even after all these years. He didn’t want to be accepted but it still hurt.
“What’s it to you?”, Dele fired stoic. He watched in satisfaction as the man’s nostrils flared at the rude question.
“Youre Bamidele?”, the man asked.
“Do you know of another son of Elsa Daramola? Oh wait, you couldn’t possibly know.”, Dele said.
“Do you have manners at all?”, the man asked, irked by Délé’s flagrant impertinence.
“Look sir, I don’t have time for this. I…”
“Bamidele, I think I left the things I bought for the children in the car.”, his mother called causing Dele to turn. He instinctively stood in front of the man to obstruct his mother from seeing the man that had caused her pain and misery.
“Ok. I’ll get them. Go back to Tinu.”, he said hastily.
“Are you okay?”, she asked.
“Elsa?”, the man asked peering out from behind his son.
Watching the color siphoned out of his mother’s face made him want to strangle his father. The elderly woman shook her head in disbelief.
“Mum, let’s go back to the ward. Please.”, he said and walked to his mother. He pulled softly on her arm but she stayed rooted to that spot. He watched a tear fall from her eyes. He didn’t want this. He couldn’t stand to see her cry for a man that didn’t deserve it. He didn’t want her to feel miserable because of a man beneath her.
“Jola?”, his mother whispered.
She couldn’t believe her eyes. She thought she would never see him again. She thought she’d face death first before she came face to face with the man that pierced her through with many sorrows. The only man she had loved in her sixty plus years. Her tears fell faster.
“H-h- how are you? Can I talk to you?”, the man stuttered and walked towards her.
“Sir, I will suggest you stay where you are and far away from my mother. I won’t hesitate to beat up and old man if you don’t respect yourself.”, Dele threatened. She knew her tears had caused Dele to see red and brought out the beast in him. She wiped her tears and held his hand.
“I want to talk to him.”, Elsa stated. Dele turned to look at her in shock.
“Mum, you don’t have to. He isn’t worth your time and tears.”, he said cupping her face and wiping her tears with his thumbs. “Mum, he doesn’t deserve your time. Please, don’t let him hurt you.”, he begged and caressed her face. “Lets ignore him. Let’s go back to the ward. I can go and get the gifts for the kids later.”
She leaned into his hands and smiled. He was her consolation. He was the only good thing she got out of their divorce. She couldn’t imagine what her life would have been like if he had accepted Dele as his and divorced her. She would have died. She kissed his arms and pulled him down for a hug.
“Dele, thank you for being my son. I love you so much. Thank you for protecting me. I’m old but I need closure.”, she whispered in his ears.
“I don’t want him to hurt you.”, he whined.
“He can’t possibly hurt me anymore than he already has. Plus, I have you. He doesn’t.”, she whispered back. She let him go and walked towards her ex-husband.
“Hurt her and I will show you just how manner less I am.”, Dele threatened.

Jaiye walked into his boss’ office and shut the door behind him. He stood before the older lawyer and waited for him to end his call. The man gestured at the seats I front of his table. Jaiye unbuttoned his jacket and took a seat. He crossed his legs and linked his fingers together waiting patiently. The man got off the phone and faced him.
“Jaiye.”
“Sir?”
“I got a very disturbing message from the director of the women’s prison. He told me you sent him a letter commanding him to release an inmate from solitary confinement. Is there truth in that?”, the man asked and reclined in his chair.
“To some extent.”, Jaiye said.
“Elucidate me on the extent of the truth, then.”
“I asked him to either investigate the facts surrounding the offence he claimed the inmate committed and release her or to make sure the conditions of her confinement were up to par with the other inmates. Failure to do either would result in the office of the attorney general suing him for human rights violations and gross negligence.”, Jaiye explained.
The man shook his head chuckling. “I heard about the rape case you started and the arrest of three prison guards for the rape of the same inmate. Is she related to you, somehow?”
“Not exactly. My wife met her during her prison evangelism with our church evangelism team. She saw the degrading treatment the woman suffered and told me about it. I decided to take the matter up after having had some investigations done.”
“ I must commend your vigilance and magnanimity, Jaiye. But be careful. This is federal government. I can assure you protection within the ministry but outside of it? Jaiye, we are dealing with sharks and big dogs here. You might not want to make enemies here so soon. You have a promising future. Be careful.”
“Yes, sir.”, he stated. “Sir, what about the case the Attorney General of Gombe state filed against the government?”, Jaiye said with excitement dancing in his eyes.
“You want to handle it, don’t you?”, the man said smiling.
“If you permit me. My paralegal and I are intrigued by the facts and particulars of the case. And…”
He was interrupted by the sudden jarring of the door. The attorney general's secretary ran in after the gatecrasher.
“Sir, im sorry. I told him to wait but he didn’t listen to me.”, the secretary explained.
“Its ok. Jaiye, we will continue later.”, the attorney general said. Jaiye nodded and left with the secretary. When the door was shut, the attorney general stood and faced his brother. “Brother or not, I don’t like people barging into my office.”
His brother walked up to him and punched him square on the jaw.

His brother walked up to him and punched him square on the jaw.
“What is wrong with you, Jola?”, the man shouted in shock only to be punched again. He fell into his chair from the impact. He watched his brother come around the table and he saw his brother’s eyes -crimson. He held his jaw as his brother gripped him by the lapels of his jacket.
“I can have you arrested for this.”, Fola threatened in fear. He had only seen his brother this angry twice. Once, when a boy had snatched their mother’s handbag in the market. He chased the boy down and beat him till his face was bloody. The other time was when he caught him in bed with Elsa.
“Go ahead and while you’re at it, fill out your charge sheet for raping my wife.”, Jola said.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”, Fola said. Jola punched him again and gripped him harder. “She showed me the scars on her back. Scars from when you raped her on the broken glass from the picture frame. Look into my eyes and deny it, Olufolajimi.”
“I don’t know what came over me then.”, Fola whimpered.
“God!”, Jola gasped and released his grip on his brother. He held his head in his hands. “God!”, he gasped again. “God!”, he screamed. “Fola, I believed you. I trusted that you would never betray me like that. She was my wife! My wife! The mother of my son! My only son! And you betrayed me. Fola, you raped my wife!”
“Im sorry.”, Fola apologized.
“Sorry doesn’t fix it. It doesn’t give me back the thirty-two years I lost with my son and Elsa.”, he fired. “Fola, you’re dead to me. Forget you have a brother.”, he said and left the office.
