andrewbaba44: the term used these days is "top 6" ...I already told u that sometime ago. Because Chelsea, spurs, arsenal and man utd are going through a rough phase doesn't make them any less a top team in England. the likes of Leicester, Everton,Sheffield and wolves don't have what it takes to sustain their good form in the premier league. the season after Leicester won the league, they were battling relegation.. Even clubs like Newcastle and Blackburn have at some point given the big boys in the league a run for their money but they are all back to default... 10 years ago,Liverpool was battling relegation and was on the brink of going into administration.. but today they are back to their rightful place.. everybody know who the big teams in the league are abeg... the rest are just pretenders.... |

once a club finishes 2nd,3rd or 4th every season andrew and his likes tags them big teams immediately without putting into consideration the club's fan base and follower-ship,revenue,marketability,financial strength, history and traditions do you know in epl many years ago the likes of leeds united, newcastle, aston villa and blackburn gave the likes of man united and arsenal who were the top dogs in english football then a run for their money? do you know that liverpool which is one of Britain most successful clubs both in the home front and Europe almost went into administration and was once a laughing stock? becoming a great club goes beyond finishing 2nd or 3rd in a season or 2 but sustainability, strong financial base, marketability and follower-ship. i doubt you have an idea of how much man united makes from asia which is the biggest market in the world annually and why even at it's current state is still regarded among the top 5 riches football clubs in the world few months ago the heir to the saudi throne was interested in purchasing united for over a billion pounds which was turned down immediately by the glazers, that is to show you that the owners of the team are making mad fortunes annually andrewbaba44: |

AFRICAN ALL STARS Nigeria's Oghiabekhva named Belarusian Women's League Best Player of the Year 2019 Her awe-impressive form saw the Nigeria star beat the league's best to the player of the season accolade Minsk striker Emuidzhi Oghiabekhva has been named the Belarusian Women's Premier League Best Player of the Year 2019. The Nigerian forward claimed the coveted award at the recently held Belarus Football Awards Gala at the end of the season-closing ceremony organised by the Belarusian Football Federation. Oghiabekhva netted 44 goals in 26 outings for her club, including 10 in seven Women's Champions League matches as they reached the Round of 16 before bowing out to Barcelona. The 29-year-old, who was ranked fourth in Nigeria's Best Player of 2019, scored five braces and two hat-tricks and a record seven goals in a match during the just-concluded league season. Her brilliance guided her Belarusian Women's Premier League outfit to a domestic treble in 2019 and qualification for Women's Champions League as the country's sole representative next year. Following her fantastic season, the striker was rewarded with a contract extension which keeps her in the Belarus capital till September 2020, wading off interests from top European sides. Having put pen to paper, Oghiabekhva will focus on improving her achievements with Minsk and also earn an international call-up for Nigeria campaign at the 2020 African Women's Cup of Nations. https://www.goal.com/en/news/nigerias-oghiabekhva-named-belarusian-womens-league-best/15kpnqn97wiwq17g7ra2ze59j9 1 Like

Super Eagles star Samuel Kalu has emerged as a doubt for Bordeaux's first match of 2020 against Le Mans amid speculation over his future. The former Gent and AS Trencin star has been linked with a departure from Bordeaux when the transfer window opens for business next month, with Real Betis and Hertha Berlin mentioned as possible destinations. According to regional newspaper Sud Ouest, Kalu did not participate in training on Monday morning, the third consecutive day he has not been involved in the workout. It has been suggested that the Nigeria international is still recovering from an undisclosed illness. The future of Kalu at Bordeaux has been covered in mist after losing his place in the starting line-up, making only four starts in their last ten games before the break. On a positive note, another Bordeaux player attracting interest from abroad, Josh Maja has returned to full training after he was left out of the traveling party to Rennes due to fitness issues. The Bordeaux vs Le Mans Coupe de France match will hold at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique (Bordeaux) on January 3, starting from 2055 hours. |

minfelix:Talk is cheap brother. What is going to be his legacy for the said Super Eagles? A legacy of no succession to the present crop of players on parade? My opinion is premised on the poor performance of the Super Eagles feeder teams in Chan Eagles, U23, U20, U17 While not also forgetting the female counterpart of the Super Eagles-The National Super Falcons with the associated dismal outing of the U23 and U20 1 Like |

Nigeria: Why Nigerian Football Is Not Growing - Pinnick 30 DECEMBER 2019 Daily Trust (Abuja) The President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has blamed the domestic football leagues for the dwindling fortunes of the round leather game in the country. Speaking during a media parley in Lagos, Pinnick said football cannot grow until the leagues are revamped. The former CAF 1st vice-president blamed the parlous state of Nigeria's leagues on a lack of TV coverage and attendant revenues but said the Federation is working to "remedy the situation". "Every league depends on money accruing from television rights for survival. Ours cannot be different. "We will look at where we got it wrong and see how we can remedy the situation. Our football cannot grow to our potential if we don't get the local league right," he added. It will be recalled the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) recently signed a multi-year TV deal with China's Next TV details of which are yet to be fully revealed. Similarly, Pinnick said the sports minister, Sunday Dare has every right to speak on the performance as the head of sports in the country. "Don't forget the minister is the chief sports officer of the country. We don't feel bad he spoke his mind on the state of football in Nigeria. "We believe his intervention is bound to be a wakeup call for us and the players," he said. He also revealed that preparations were in top gear with Nike to commence the design of new kits, starting with the 2022 World Cup qualifying matches in March. "We're launching a new set of kits for the World Cup qualifiers in March," Amaju disclosed. https://allafrica.com/stories/201912300297.html

Who are the scouts of Nigeria's Super Falcons team that a 29 years old Emuidzhi Oghiabekhva is still waiting for her first call up? Imagine that and some people wants Rohr that is bringing her counterparts from everywhere out of Nigeria and the super eagles For a player that has played 80 club games with a staggering 106 goals, 72 starts and 8 substitute appearance erring 4 times on yellow card to her credit since 2009 is more than decent enough for the super Falcons indeed 3 Likes

Ex-Schalke striker and Netherlands international Youri Mulder believes Bayern Munich wonderkid of Nigerian descent Joshua Zirkzee could be rewarded with a call-up to the Dutch senior squad ahead of the 2020 European Championship. Aged 18, Zirkzee came off the bench to score two match-winning goals in his first two appearances in the German Bundesliga - against Freiburg and Wolfsburg - with his first contact with the ball on both occasions. Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman is reportedly looking for offensive reinforcements following the injuries suffered by Lyon's Memphis Depay and PSV's Donyell Malen. Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Mulder said : "An incredible story for the boy personally, but also for us Dutch. "After the serious injuries of our top goalscorer Memphis Depay (cruciate ligament rupture) and Donyell Malen (knee injury), we are looking for strikers for the senior team. "And if Zirkzee continues to develop like this, he will definitely become a topic soon." Former Feyenoord youth-teamer Zirkzee has earned caps for Netherlands U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 national teams. |

Icon4s:Very competitive to some extent because it is ranked 19th ahead of countries like Poland, Sweden Serbia etc Modified: Meaning: The Belarusian league is better than the Nigerian female league that produces the bulk of our Super Falcons players and so she should be invited with immediate effect not minding the fact that she is 29 already. Atleast her team (Dynamo Minsk) lost to Barcelona females in the knock out which is not a small feat in Europe

Icon4s:That is where we got it wrong-Pepe's valuation. This is EPL. The best league in the world with it difficulty for adaptation Besides, 40% of his goals at Lille were penalties and Free kicks, so he wasn't particularly special but because the 72 million pounds was to be paid over a period of 4 years made it simpler and easier to accommodate by Arsenal. |
