get the difference. Kenyans fought off the British in Mau Mau Uprising and are now seeking reparations of which a good percentage has been paid. No Kenyan Mau Mau fighter had his head cut off and sent to Europe and we never forked out a penny to sooth their ruthlessness.
Ghana paid the Brits to stave off colonization and were still colonized (thats double tragedy). One Ghanaian chief had his head sent to Europe as a trophy. Not on the same league broh grin
Kenyans tried fighting the Brits and lost miserably and all Mau Mau men were castrated.

Mau Mau were butchered and worse
Castrated.

The Brits wanted the Golden stool of the Asante kingdom and were refused
The stool is worth more than 75 billion dollars.
paying Britain 75 billion dollars in gold for an end to a 200 years war was a meagre sum in the worth of Asante kingdom.

No Ghanaian was castrated like the disgrace of Kenya.
grin grin grin

the Brits were defeated in the second war and had their governor beheaded.
lame Mau Mau people couldn't even break the first line of defence of the Brits.

If not for the advocacy of Ghana and a few other states criticising Britain at governmental levels,
You guys would still be slaves to Britain as a colony today.

2020 prediction... Nigeria will struggle to grow at best 2% and at worst go back into recession as US shale shakes the oil export market. Kenya will grow by 6% recovering from interest rate capping as private lending resume. As for IMF colony going into elections with 13% currency depreciation..IMF will be back as early as last Q of 2020.Tanzania will continue to slide into dictatorship with economic growth less than Kenya

More realistic prediction Nigeria's economy moves to grow at 3.4% as the manufacturing, agriculture and finance sector boom whilst oil would be down FDI would increase to 5 billion dollars with all the SEZs popping up around the country and with the completion of the Lagos-ibadan railway the ports in Lagos would be decongested saving companies more money

Inflation would likely decrease to 11% and we would keep the borders closed to help with our agricultural and manufacturing reforms happening in the country

Nigeria economy can be summarized by one word OIL.EIA forecasts a drop in oil prices in 2020 with US bringing in nearly 1M barrels per day more oil - so you don't expect growth rate of 2% (less than pop growth rate of 2.5%) to miraculously start growing at 3.4%.

We are diversifying the economy our manufacturing sector is seriously increasing we are bringing in longrich one of the largest cosmetics brands in the world and they are spending 550 million dollars to enter the African market through Nigeria and at least 75 more companies have bought their plots of land in the Lekki free trade zone and will start construction so as I said manufacturing sector is expanding infact it expanded by 80% last quarter, there is also textiles were coming for you we have started making textiles and clothes for Chinese company and soon by 2025 at least 4 million people will be employed in the textiles sector and it will generate 15 billion dollars

Agriculture we have stopped the importation of rice saving us money added to that we are finally going to stop importing palm oil and start exporting 750 million dollar of palm oil rather next year than Russia is going to develop our wheat farming system and make us the largest producer of it in Africa, there are many other examples with tomatoes, pineapple, coffee, tea, chocolate, Shea, sorghum, Barley etc we are trying to be able to be self sufficient with the current food staples and that is happening

Than in technology the government signed a contract with China which will be completed in 5 years to build over 200 000km of broadband cables around the country added to that the contract also includes setting up 5G and teaching 50 Nigerian students how to build and maintain the 5G telecom service

So when is say we are leaving oil and that our economy is growing my guy just don’t try and Shawn e completely depend on oil we are very quickly diversifying and soon we will make it to the 1 trillion dollar economy mark most likely we’ll be the first in Africa

Talk is cheap.
1) No manufacturing can happen in an environment where basic electricity is still rocket science - and where infrastructure has nearly totally collapsed. Once you fix electricity - you can talk about manufacturing. For now all those wet dreams about Longrich, Lekki and textiles are just tall tales

2) Agriculture - .Beyond the rosy make-believe stats - the real proof of the Nigerian pudding is in eating them. Food inflation has risen to nearly 15% - thanks to borde closure - because the rice scam run by your CBN doesn't translate to real production.

3) Your gov is BROKE - BANKRUPT. The federal gov of Nigeria is spending SHOCKING 75% of it's revenues to service debts. It has to borrow locally to pay salaries and pension. A broke gov cannot build infrastructure (capita expenditure) when it cannot meet recurrent expenditure. That is why your gov has resorted to asking Dangote to build roads for them.

We shall check with Thais and Indians if Benin and Cameroon are still importing the parboiled rice they don't typical consume and see if the border closure has been effective or not.

Thai Rice Exporters still show Benin as the biggest rice importer...you know if Nigeria rice 'revolution of lies' is a success the pain will be felt in Asia.

one thing you dont know is, West Africa does not have a problem with eating what they produce.
Infact, in Nigeria, you cant afford to provide food services without using Nigerian rice.
Everyone that comes to buy will ask you if it is Nigerian rice.

smiley . Kindly enrol in Econ 101 in nearest Kantanka Institute of Economics. Basic demand and supply. The more US raise it oil production - the harder for OPEC to play with oil prices. US will add another 1M barrels per day (about half the size of Nigeria oil). Nigeria in fact was first casualty of US shale because the US no longer buy Nigeria oil. That supply side. The demand side will depend on appetite of the China and global economy for oil. The interplay of demand and supply will set the price - we already knows US will add more - so price will naturally drop.

you are clinically dumb

producing oil by fracking is very expensive
Infact, fracking companies in the US are going bankrupt as their line of credits dry up.

They need oil to be prices above 70 dollars and even at that, they are still struggling to make profit.
Infact, the frackers are folding up and production is dwindling.

the US only play politics by using it reserves to leverage the market
The US is not the only buyer of Nigerian oil
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp20182: 9:49am On Jan 01, 2020
US shale production is expected to rise by 1M barrels by day. The details about fracking although mildly interesting are irrelevant here.

What is relevant - US OIL PRODUCTION Keep rising. More supply. Lower prices. So GHANA & Tullow woes are far from over - prepare the red carpet for IMF shafters and get well moisten - for another drilling or fracking.

Exhibit 1:

The U.S. Energy Information Administration projected U.S. crude output will rise to 12.3 million b/d in 2019 from a record 11.0 million barrels per day in 2018. It forecasts that U.S. crude oil production will rise by 0.9 million b/d in 2020 to an annual average of 13.2 million b/d.Nov 11, 2019

Exhibit 2:
of U.S. shale in 2020 is going to be a key factor for oil prices, with multiple sources unsure on how much production will slow down ..

Reasons Why Kenya Would Remain
Underdeveloped

(3)SMALL SIZE OF ECONOMY
The Kenya economy is too small in comparison to its population. At just $60bn the country lacks the financial muscle to embark on big projects that can lift the country up. The sgr is the largest project since independence in 1963. And the sgr has proven to be a pit of expense. Unlike Nigeria where the dangote oil refinery is the largest in Africa and is going to be a gamechanger in West Africa. Kenya needs to grow its small economy to lift the country out of its present quagmire. Ethiopia, its neighbor has already powered past Kenya GDP wise and Kenyans are not taking this well at all--- just like when the Ethiopian runner Gebrehaille Selassie went past the controversial and envious Little Indian runner, Machuka at the 1992 Olympics. Machuka was so mad and envious he hit the Ethiopian as he went past him. grin I think envy is a Kenyan thing. Idk how this lion vs hyena story began but here's a similar take. Over 15 years in the arid semi arid former N E province, our Somali territory those Anorexic poo magnets told a strange episode.
Can't remember where exactly but it was one of those tiny 5 or 6 shop towns near the border. Apparently lion prides had formed an unusual habit a complete mystery to the many trained animal behaviourists .
At dusk for the previous 3 weeks they'd invade the tiny town in at least 3 large prides of roughly 20 and just roar and ROAR and ROAR.
Everyone was stumped at this most unlion behaviour. They'd long learned not to Bleep with humans when guns were common in the 60s and 70s thanks to the Shifta war and the later generations were similarly we'll disposed to humans and their livestock.
Anyway, everyone from the KWS, Provincial Admin, elders and Intel were consulted and the truth as usual was revealed.
Those skinny mofos were stealing cubs, smuggling them to European zoos and their families knew who was responsible and wanted their offspring back !?
True story.

So sad

Benin is only a larger importer because Nigerians are taking advantage of it free port policy.

Yes there are great manufacturing taking place in Nigeria.
from Steel to Microchips to semiconductors.

Would you shut up there
The manufacturing economy of Nigeria is Bigger than the Kenyan economy.

Like i said Nigeria is not collecting taxes from most sectors of it economy
Nigeria can deside today, not to use revenues generated from the Oil sector and the taxes they will rake in from their manufacturing and service sectors alone will be twice or thrice as much as they receive from oil.
