Booksmart was really underrated even by me when i saw it way back in the year, it looked like another coming of age movie but i later realize it was a gem..kudos to Olivia Wilde....

Am seeing Good boys in several list and i am wondering if i saw a different good boys...it was feel good and all but i am not sure it's a movie i can call best of the best...imo tho.

Nice list btw.

There's a saying that goes thus "When The Desirable is Not Available, The Available Becomes Desirable". In relation to that quote, as regards the Good Boys, I'll gladly rate it's as one of the best comedies i saw this year. Analysing the flick side by side with other flicks in it's genre, one would notice that it really did stand out from the rest of the lot. Good Boys unlike other comedies was part hilarious and thoughtful at the same time. The storyline was funny, endearing & relatable, the cast was good, so was the acting. Though it wasn't an outstanding flick so to speak, but since we had very few good comedy flicks this year, Good Boys technically assumes the status of a one eyed king in the country of the blind..

From micro-thrillers to big budget blockbusters, it has been a wild, weird and momentous year for movies. Without further ado, I hereby present MY top 10 movies of 2019.

- 10. Midsommar: A horror movie that linger in the viewers' minds long after the film ends.
- 9. Ready or Not: Perhaps it's sadistic, but seeing a bunch of super rich people get horrifically killed, felt super satisfying. Anyway, it was a lot of fun. Loved the horror-comedy combo.
- 8. Uncut Gems: That was legitimately the most stressful movie I've ever seen this year. The constant chaos in this guys life, and his terrible decision making gave me extreme anxiety. Really liked the film.
- 7. The Irishman: Al Pacino, De Niro, Pesci were as good as you'd expect. The CGI de-aging was revolutionary. Dialogue was seamless. The 3.5 hour runtime was heavily felt, but thoroughly worth it. Classic Scorsese.
- 6. Marriage Story: Hands down one of the best movies I’ve seen all year. Brilliant acting from Adam Driver & ScarJo. I ended up tearing up twice, once during the argument, and again while Charlie was reading Nicole’s note. I've rewatched the argument scene a couple of times just to process everything. One of the most well made movies of the year imho.

And now, my top 5...

- 5. Parasite:  It's one of those films that's lulls you into a mendacious sense of security, and then when you're just getting comfortable, hits you with a bitch-slap that packs a wallop. Makes you feel conflicted with how the plot twists were actually plot twists. It ain't a happy story, but easily one of the year's best movies.
- 4. Avengers: Endgame: It won't win any serious awards, but as unsaturated entertainment goes, it was great.
- 3. Joker: A cautionary tale, and the nihilistic perspective of a psychopath forged by a negative society. This was one of the most depressing movies I've seen all year. Also one of the best.
- 2. Hotel Mumbai: I haven't felt this tense from a movie in a long time. My heart was racing, and I caught myself clenching my teeth a few times. And that's how I know that they did a good job with this film. I felt like like I was one of the people trapped in the hotel the entire time.
- 1. Knives Out: This felt like an Agatha Christie novel, so well written and acted. Pretty damn good. Loved the ending. Daniel Craig A+.

Honorable Mentions...

- Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood.
- John Wick: Parabellum
- Ford vs Ferrari
- Toy Story 4
- The Farewell

I do watch his films occasionally... when they are good... which is not often. He's obviously talented, but too damn lazy. Uncut Gem was his most challenging role since he started acting. He aced the role too, and might get an Oscar nomination out of it.

And no, nothing has changed. I remain a non-fan of Adam Sandler, like I have always been, and will always be... forevermore, Amen.

Lol, that's how it is these days. Funny, how I thought this holiday period was going to free up more than enough time to catch up with good movie or series, but alas I was wrong. grin grin. Imagine, I used 6 days to complete The Witcher premiere season.

The socializing with peeps, mingling and also the planning and visiting of tourist sites for the Xmas and New Year holidays has eaten up one's time for movies. cheesy

Yea, it's unlike the first but it's pretty enjoyable.
The addition of James McAvoy, Bill Hader and the redhead was refreshing.
Prolly the best horror I've watched this year dated 2019.

I'm not a sentimental guy, but I teared up when Charlie broke down after saying he wished Nicole would die. It was a powerful scene, and particularly resonates with me, because I had once upon a time been in that sort of situation. Not exactly like theirs ofc, but relatable.

Everything in that scene was brilliant. It’s one of those rare times in a movie I really felt what a character was feeling.

Eyes Wide Shut-

The opening scene with a _naked woman presenting her well formed buttocks to the camera was a foreshadowing of things to come. This movie is sexual. When I got tired of fast forwarding and zooming past the sex scenes, I gritted my teeth and kukuma endured because these scenes are inextricably linked with the plot.

A very engaging movie, with some very creepy undertones. When you deeply examine the dark underbelly of society, you'd be shocked at what is revealed. The ending is lovely because it open ended. We just have to guess if the major events were truly a charade and it's aftermath, mere coincidence. I have my own interpretation.

8/10. I would have given it a higher score but the excessive depiction of sexual acts kind of turned me off. It's an erotic thriller, mind you, but that doesn't mean I have to like all the fvckery that went on there. Pun intended.

Any idea where I can find it
