Let's hope this is the case.

We've heard this story before. It brought Nigeria into a further dilapidated state that we see today in this year 2020.

That's something we as Naijirians need to stop, that's our oil, tax and money for schools, hospitals and many other things. So, at the end of the day it's up to the masses to hold those accountable who steal.

The masses have ZERO LEVERAGE. You cannot strong-arm yourself to victory, if you do not have a strong-arm relative to your opponent. A new approach is required, because otherwise, this "wait and hope for the sake of the Christian God" will be ongoing and fruitless.

Amaechi knows that he can say that because Nigerians still will not stone politicians after that. Seven years have passed since that article was written, and Nigerians are even more complacent now than they were before. On top of that, it is a small matter for Nigerian army to just come and plant itself within a community because the system is still overly-centralized. At the end of the day, all that is left is wait and look, if we don't come up with something different.

Much better. I've been waiting for you to destroy that Chinenye woman. Clearly, she loves history but, her agenda in Igboland must not be allowed to go on. Chino abeg handle her without mercy because she is beginning to provoke everybody here. Look at the nonsense language she has been writing here since.

Lol. I am even commending your for growing maybe an ounce in your understanding over the past decade.

ChinenyeN , Eri doesn’t have to inspire you but as long as you consider yourself an Igbo then you can’t deny the overreacting influence of Eri and his descendants. I applaud you for standing up for your clan but all fingers are not equal. You can’t disman the revered place of Nri culture and even in your own immediate family. Let’s start with your name...it’s Anambra inspired. You even mentioned how you didn’t like the name some years back and I thought you woulda changed it. We have been on this for over a decade and you haven’t created Ngwa name of the week. You are beating a dead horse. Nri culture is the face of Igbo culture which Ngwa is under its umbrella. Daalu

During the French Revolution strong arm tactics were used to rid the country of the corrupt politicians and monarchs of the day. So there's a time and a place for that.

However, other methods can be used as well. In either event, once the people realize they have the power, the action they take is their decision.

Either way, the people have the responsilty to hold their leaders accountable.

There it is! The bolded part is my concern. I look at fellow Nigerians and I do not see people with power. I see people who have given up. I see people are constantly begging for scraps from FG. I see people who are not being fed. I see complacency. Nigerians have not yet reached the point where they will revolt, and I do not have much reason to believe that they will reach it anytime soon if things continue as they are.

Perhaps you should learn more about Igbo history, culture and the general ethnolinguistic region. The hegemony of that uninspiring Eri and his descendants was not all-inclusive. Don't try to paint a picture of influence that did not exist. Otherwise, you make yourself look stupid, because we can all easily verify the limits of Eri's people and how so many of us neither recognize nor acknowledge them.

As for my name, I have not changed it out of respect for my mother who named me. I still do not like the name. It's bland. It's Christian. It's a chi-name for the sake of the gods. Chi-names are uninspired. However, in Ngwa, there is the culture of a person adopting a new name for themselves later in life. I've long since done that, but it isn't something that you are privy to. After all, you are neither my friend, nor are you my family.

Perhaps , you should stop living in denial and accept the status quo. I have read Igbo culture long enough to make simple identification based on Nri influence. It could be that your definition of influence is different from what we know. We know for sure that Ngwa bears the name Nwanze which means son of a noble. So, let’s stop the theatrics and face the truth. The four market days were Omanbala invention and if not for that you wouldn’t know the name of the days of the week. Indeed, Eri didn’t just inspire you but helped in moulding your culture.

It is not news that Eri and his group were taught the culture by the locals. That should show you just how much was already in place before their arrival. You want to mention aspects of language and culture that predate all the sound shifts and all the identity shifts for the past six millennia and attribute it to Eri. If I am to be straightforward and honest, Idennaa, I truly encourage you to study more about the actual limitations of Eri and his descendants' hegemony, and about Igbo history, culture, language and identity in general. There is much to learn, and I sincerely and earnestly encourage you to learn it.

I never said Eri masterminded the creation of Igbo culture but Nze na Ozo, Ikenga etc. is particularly an Nri creation. However, what we know about Omanbala/Nri culture was a fusion of the culture of the aboriginals and the Eri and his descendants that settled primarily in the Omanbala country. However, Nri leadership and spiritual direction was critical in all of these, hence , the vast prominence of the Nri in most aspect of Igbo culture. There is a very good reason why the Eze Nri was crowned and venerated across the Omanbala area.

IS IT TOO LATE FOR SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS TO HONOR TD JAKES.

WE NEED TO START A PROPERTY BOOM IN SOUTH EAST ONCE THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AT ENUGU IS COMPLETE.

IN FACT SOUTH EAST GOV SHOULD SPEND THE NEXT 8 YEARS INVESTING IN CARGO AND PASSENGER AIRPORT.

I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT SOUTH EAST ECONOMY STANDS TO BENEFIT FROM INWARD INVESTORS FROM AMERICA.

THEY SHOULD INVOLVE EZE ERI.

Roads constructed by Etiaba over 8 yrs ago up till now has no scratch.

Let govt employ standard in their operation.
