NaijirianKing:

This is true... in fact, there is no Africa because we didn't have such a name in any language of any group on the continent.

So you're right, there is nothing like Igbo, Nigerians, or even Africans. It's all fake, it's a western creation, we are merely just existing waiting for Europeans to leave Europe and name us.

Even Anambra is fake as there was nothing like it before the Naijirian State created it, so never tell anyone you're from Anambra because according to your logic, "there's nothing like Anambra, just people who resided in an area that was captured through the State Creation Commission of Naijiria." Please do the needful and change your name.

This is how you're reasoning. I hope you've learned something today. You've been dismissed from class.
Definitely Anambra is also artificial, afterall they've been people like Enugu and parts of Ebonyi who once upon a time , say in the 70s were also called ndi Anambra...right now I don't tell anyone I'm from Anambra, I tell them I'm from Nnewi and an Nnewi supremacist for that matter

The guys here are very funny..you have been told there is nothing like Igbo or Eri heritage..Igbo is just a group of people who live within same geographic area and decided to form a common identy...not that they came from the same place, .and again there is nothing like Igbo
[/s]

Chef2000, the worst is that you are from the cursed Abia state, so igbos have rejected your state because it is the worst state in Nigeria.
Re: . by TEDHorsePower: 8:05pm On Feb 04, 2020
Totally true

IDENNAA:

Perhaps , you should stop living in denial and accept the status quo. I have read Igbo culture long enough to make simple identification based on Nri influence. It could be that your definition of influence is different from what we know. We know for sure that Ngwa bears the name Nwanze which means son of a noble. So, let’s stop the theatrics and face the truth. The four market days were Omanbala invention and if not for that you wouldn’t know the name of the days of the week. Indeed, Eri didn’t just inspire you but helped in moulding your culture.
Re: . by TEDHorsePower: 8:06pm On Feb 04, 2020
IDENNAA:

I never said Eri masterminded the creation of Igbo culture but Nze na Ozo, Ikenga etc. is particularly an Nri creation. However, what we know about Omanbala/Nri culture was a fusion of the culture of the aboriginals and the Eri and his descendants that settled primarily in the Omanbala country. However, Nri leadership and spiritual direction was critical in all of these, hence , the vast prominence of the Nri in most aspect of Igbo culture. There is a very good reason why the Eze Nri was crowned and venerated across the Omanbala area.

Fact
Re: . by ChinenyeN(m): 8:25pm On Feb 04, 2020
Again, Idennaa, I encourage you to do some studying.

IDENNAA:
I never said Eri masterminded the creation of Igbo culture but Nze na Ozo, Ikenga etc. is particularly an Nri creation.
You just mentioned cultural practices that do not apply to large swathes of the Igbo ethnolinguistic region. Are you actually familiar/knowledgeable about the various peoples and cultures that make up this region?

IDENNAA:
However, what we know about Omanbala/Nri culture was a fusion of the culture of the aboriginals and the Eri and his descendants that settled primarily in the Omanbala country.
At least a modicum of truth here from you. That is good.

IDENNAA:
However, Nri leadership and spiritual direction was critical in all of these, hence , the vast prominence of the Nri in most aspect of Igbo culture. There is a very good reason why the Eze Nri was crowned and venerated across the Omanbala area.
And here we reach the crux of it. There is an entire four-thirds if not more of "Igboland" that has no recognized affiliation with the Omambala area and as such does not even recognize the seat of office that Nri sits on. There is an entire four-thirds if not more of "Igboland" that did not offer and still do not offer tributes to the seat of office that Nri sits on. There is an entire four-thirds if not more of "Igboland" that does not acknowledge or celebrate the lunar cycle that the office of Nri is in control of, but maintain entirely different calendars and lunar practices from that of the Nri seat of office.

Long story short, there is little to no ground for continuing to peddle Nri/Eri as a central figure in the narrative of the entire Igbo ethnolinguistic region. I truly encourage you to study more about Igbo people in general. There is a wealth of things to learn, and I encourage you to learn them.

Well, out of your abundant wisdom and knowledge why don’t you feed us on the origin of the four market days. Onuku Igala, you think you are dealing with mere mortal. Bring your facts and tell me how the four market days developed into day....smh.

This is the reason why Anambra must lead Igbo nation else you cultureless bunch will drag us through the mud. You have nothing to be proud of , hence you are bent on ruining mine.

There is nothing like Igbo..If you don't know..why do you think 'Igbos' are always divided and can't achieve anything on the national stage..u saw when Obi was nominated as VP in last election and Ekweremmadu and Umahi revolted, that's to tell u there is nothing like Igbo and hence the division will continue..rule your family first , no one cares about something not existing...times are gone when people will want to claim being Igbo..

ChinenyeN, we can agree that not all Igbo groups had a direct Nri influence but traditions were passed down through association and interaction. There is no way Nri could have invented all the Igbo traditions because there were other groups and very influential ones , who live in the region and contributed immensely. For instance, Ofala/Ovala was an Onicha invention.

Don’t get me wrong , I understand that you are unfamiliar with some of our traditions , yet , Ngwa men like Abaribe literally dresses like an Ozo man and even share Nze handshake with Anambra men like Chidoka. I respect your cultural identity but as it stands you have nothing to fight with. Eventually, your sub culture will be swallowed.

The same way we wear Isiagu, even though it is agreed that Isiagu is not an original pan-Igbo attire? Idennnaa, you are talking about the merging of cultures. Today, I see Anambra people doing anyantolukwnu dance that is not originally part of your culture but was part of the southern Igbo (Uratta, Ikwerre, Ngwa, etc) style of dancing. This is how cultural convergence occurs. We now do three tap forearm handshake. This is how cultural convergence occurs and a new identity is born and propagated. This is nothing new.

However, it is one thing to talk about this modern convergence and another to state Nri's central influence in the face of overwhelming contradiction throughout the entire Igbo ethnolinguistic region.

FORGET THAT WE ARE STILL BUILDING, WE STILL HAVE STATE HOUSE THAT ARE USED TO HOST PRESIDENT.

TD JAKES IS AN ASSET THAT COMES ONCE IN 500 YEARS, NDIIGBO MIGHT NOT GET ANOTHER ONE IN AMERICA ANYTIME SOON, SO LET BRING HIM ON BOARD.

ONCE THAT ENUGU AIRPORT IS COMPLETED HE SHOULD BE THE FIRST IN AND THE VISITING SHOULD BE ACROSS THE 5 CORE IGBO STATES EACH. (7 DAYS TRIP)

EZE ERI MUST BE PRESENT.

LET OKOWA AND RIVERS INVITE HIM IF THEY ARE INTERESTED.

AFTERALL, WE INVITED HIM.
