out of some vagary, i tried to be HONEST, which means i renounced my foreigner prerogative by sitting in the cabin my lowest class ticket designated me to sit in, instead of as usual jumping on a higher class cabin and playing dumb and facing off the officious conductor, or just paying the upgrading fee.

today, i sat 12 hours. HELL was loose ! so harsh, so painful ! the seat, the noise, the sweat, the crowdedness.

people even jibed me when i kept saying sorry looking for a way to go and back from the toilet. they mocked my tone of saying sorry. i had to be LOCKED in the toilet for 20 minutes, they would not allow me to come back before the next station.......exhausted....indian grassroots....

his wife was abetting him to ask me for "gift" . i gave him 1 US dollar. he wanted more. but he looked friendly though. i preferred to think everything was out of curiosity.he looked super sincere. he even invited me to have beer with himself ALONE in his house. beer was something expensive and rare in india. they could only be found among expat community . my alarm was beeping, but i accepted his address and phone number. i just did not believe i would be so easy to be cheated and robbed. but i did not show up in his house, i had to catch my train.
