Scott Adkins has been doing American accents for many years and I believe that he has improved greatly. Just watch IP man 4. He did a southern American accent well.

Scottish and Irish actors whose accents are very strong find it hard to do American accents.

Sean Connery is another example.

But English actors do very good American accents.

Americans can only do posh english accents. Many cant do Scottish or Irish or even inner london accents.

just hire a world class language coach and you're good to go.

stellan skygaard is a swedish actor but has been able to pull off american and english accents very well.

The American accent is the easiest to master in my opinion, the Brit and Aussie needs serious practice to learn

I know Bale is British but yeah I get your example. There's a lot of Brit actors with convincing American accents that aren't method actors. Also remember Practice makes perfect, so Adkins' accent could be better than the last time you heard it. It took Pattinson a while to shed the traces of his Brit accent, too.
