Killing Shekau is not the solution. Afterall, Mohammed Yusuf was killed and the other leader before Shekau was killed as well; yet this did not bring to an end the activities of the terrorists. You don't cut a tree from the head by plucking its fruits and leaves while ignoring its ability to reproduce new leaves and fruits. You cut it from the root.

If the United States want to help, we need them to expose the sponsors, local and international. Once the sponsors are exposed and prosecuted, Shekau is just an inconsequential nonentity, who cannot fund a terrorist group. Lacking a source of funding, Boko Haram would be exterminated.

Why has the state not questioned Ali Modu Sherrif yet?

I agree with some point you raised. But shekaru will waste anyone trying anything stupid. That is why they have two factions. Even shekaru not trust himself not to talk on someone else.
