Name one thing that igbo has done to Nigeria. Only brainless and illiterate person can ask this question.

Igbos fought for Nigeria's independence and won it
Igbos ceded power for a northern Prime Minister to keep the young nation united
Igbos developed Nigeria's educational curriculum as well as human capital development
Igbos helped Nigeria create a huge entrepreneurial base that is still cornerstone of the economy
Igboland is base to 75% of the country's main resource - OIL

The Igbos Lost the Civil war. Rather than slaughter them, Obasanjo arranged Exile for Ojukwu, brought POWS to Gowon. GOWON decleared No Victor No Vanquish in their favor. Awolowo, not El Rufai, protected all their Assets in Lagos and preserved them for them.
Elections are won by votes, not by Rigging. To compensate for that, Ekweme was VP to Shagari. Madam Peace was FIRST LADY. IHEJIRIKA couldn't cope with Bokoharam. The Foreign Secretary now is Ibo. The Labor Minister is Ibo. There are IBOS in Lagos, KADUNA etc Legislatures. You want one favor done for IBOS? Above are many favors done to accommodate Igbos avarice.

What I wrote is pretty straightforward. It is more sensible to ask what ibos have done for Nigeria rather than what Nigeria has done for ibos. That would have given some people the opportunity to respond and educate us. I did not imply anything else.
Now, the question of why Nigeria fought a war to keep Biafra part of Nigeria is a totally different one. The former eastern region was not occupied by ibos alone.
So what has other parts done to deserve all they are getting?
There was a war in Nigeria which was obviously from a good reason (progrom) and no rehabilitation after, now the NE brought BH on themselves and since 2011 there has been rehabilitation programs running into billions of dollars yearly.
Now to what the Igbos have done; the major revenue source for Nigeria is oil and Abia and Imo state contribute to this.
Aside the SS, can you explain what other regions contribute to Nigeria?

Okay here goes...

1. Free access to two huge markets; the North and the West, which they would not easily have accessed otherwise.

2. Cheaper agricuultural produce.

3. Economic resources spent on infrastructure development; from oil and non oil sectors.

4. Opportunity to have a say as part of the biggest economy in Africa; rather than as an insignificantly small landlocked nation similar in size to Lesotho or Swaziland.

5. Unhindered access to sea ports and major international airports.

6. Unhindered access to more extensive job opportunities which the Igbo region alone could never have handled.

I'll post others (and there are many) when I have time.

Ur no.1 is baseless...the people found routes to market the traded with..govt is not involved....if for example govt created good railway system on the route already discovered by the traders, then you will say govt. Did something.

2. By virtue of being on a land nd all ur money exchanged for 20pounce, u turn next to agro...thats ur decision not the govt. DT u bought it from the north I'd exchanged for ur hard earned money....govt didnt intervene by subsidizing it cuz ur from war torn region or provide u cheaper means if t- fare...meaning,they did nothing

3. U HV not com to the east, hence u write as dou there are roads, rail, hospitals or housing.....

The ppl built half their inner town roads, the govt roads(F.G) are mostly dilapidated...but one can't deny the fact,it has once been done by d FG....but infrastructure in d southeast is the least in the federation

4. Did I hear u hv a say,wen everyone treats u like second class citizen..

Only major ethnic group not to lead the nation, FG keep mum, when Igbo's businesses are attacked all over the country.especially Lagos. Kemi adeosun was heard in a leaked tape degrading an entire already marginalized ethnic group, nd FG did nothing...which say do they HV when recently leaked project plans for next 30 years were released nd no south east zone....

Ur 5 nd 6 are baselesd, cuz the firms are not of FG nd no special intervention to Mk the Igbo's get jobs specially was made. The job relationship was mutual.....

So think well nd answer again. The OP meant what specifically has the FG done for them...

Like building almajiri skls specifically for the northern youths nd no where else, creating a 13% derivation fund for Niger delta nd no where else...

Nd delebrate infrastructure upliftment of the south west

Lowest revenue for the FG, very correct. Let's analyse.
Currently, Ogun state generates heavily only cos of proximity to Lagos.
Now Lagos generates revenue cos of the concentration of FG's facilities there in the instance of airports, seaports, movement of the capital from Calabar to Lagos.
Now, imagine seaports are built in all viable seafront across Nigeria but no you hear of dry ports elsewhere.
(Before you claim I'm jealous of Lagos, Bros Lagos is trying and I want my state to emulate it in certain areas and may GOD BLESS Lagos state and the Yoruba nation who owns it) but the truth is that Lagos was made this rich by FG's nepotism.
Imagine that MM1 is about the only viable & most preferred airport in Nigeria cos of FG's acts.
So, no matter where you're from the South you must board a flight from Lagos, arrive and lodge in a hotel, book taxi, and even a foreign person will most likely spend time there(revenue in tax).
There are other seaports but govt will prefer that Apapa & Tincan is flooded making citizens pay demurrage on goods.
Does it make sense to you?
Same thing applies to Abuja.
The FG strategically drives revenue generation too.
Imagine the current loan request and there's no single project for the SE & tomorrow you'll rush to ask what?
Infrastructure drives development and industrialisation.

Ur no.1 is baseless...the people found routes to market the traded with..govt is not involved....if for example govt created good railway system on the route already discovered by the traders, then you will say govt. Did something.

But without open borders within a single entity, Igbo traders would have been immigrants, and there would have bewn taxes and tariffs on all their goods and services. It is not only about roads.

bigpicture001:

Again, most agricultural produce consumed in the Igbo regions is produced outside it. Without the presence of the Federation, Igbos would have had to import all their food.

bigpicture001:

I have been to the East; only it was a long time ago to be honest. The problem is not with the Central government but with the regional government. Federal allocatiins are adequate and commensurate with what other states are receiving, but to be sincere, the level of mismanagement of funds though endemic nationwide; seems to be much higher in the Igbo regions. I am sincerely no tribalist, and if you were sincere, I am sure you would acknowledge this to be true.

bigpicture001:

Igbos are the ones who marginalize themselves. They are open about their hatred of every other tribe in Nigeria; sometimes they even hate each other when there is jo one else to diss. You will see Mbaise man talking about Abakaliki man, and Imo woman talking about Anambra woman. Self-pity and self-victimization are not endearing characteristics anywhere. Yet the Igbos still have a strong showing in all parts of the decision making process, from the Senate to the Judiciary and the Ministries.

bigpicture001:

Ur 5 nd 6 are baselesd, cuz the firms are not of FG nd no special intervention to Mk the Igbo's get jobs specially was made. The job relationship was mutual.....

But the national body as a whole does permit movement of all citizens within the Federation. The Igbos are the most prevalent of all the Nigerian tribes within other communities. Their region alone could not have supported all their population at this standard of living. In the avsence of the Federation, the Igbos would have been immigrants in Kano, Port Harcourt, Lagos or Abuja where most of the jobs are.

bigpicture001:

So think well nd answer again. The OP meant what specifically has the FG done for them...

Like building almajiri skls specifically for the northern youths nd no where else, creating a 13% derivation fund for Niger delta nd no where else...

Nd delebrate infrastructure upliftment of the south west

Ok. Now I understand the specific meaning. Initially, the op attached his question to the other more common question of Igbo autonomy. So I based my response on the issue of being part of the Federation.

To answer your renewed premise, the projects you named in other regions are specific problems of those regions. For example, the Almajiri schools were primarily a response to the insecurity faced by the whole nation; not a specific favour to the North alone. The 13% derivation fund is as it states, derived from the resources in the South South and is necessary to address the resultant pollution and vocational loss. As for infrastructure projects in the Western regions, they are essential due to the greater presence of industry in those regions; and it is these industries that contribute to the nation's wealth making those projects economically profitable. Those are issues that directly affect the whole nation and not those specific regions. The Igbo regions have self inflicted issues that make them less attractive to investment; even the average Igbo man would rather invest in the West or the North; so they are not targets of viable FG infrastructure projects. Also, as is the case in all regions, allocations are made to the respective Igbo States for their internal development and very little has been done with these allocations. Are your State roads/schools/hospitals better than the Federal roads/schools/hospitals in yout region? The region's officials seem to be more interested in lining their pockets than uplifting their region, and instead of the Igbo people to hold them to task, they'd rather place the blame on 'Afonjas' or 'Abokis' as the source of their problems.

It is time for the Igbos to put away their carried over resentment from the now expired and historical civil war and work with others to move forward. Then they will have a viable case to present. Trust and friendship are not gained by force.

Please can someone Name one thing Nigeria has done for the igbos which if left alone the igbos would not have been able to do for themselves either in an independent country or as a confederate state.

Please discuss intelligently

Go and ask your state governors how much they collect as Federal allocation each month + security votes + revenue shared among governors from excess crude account + bail out funds when necessary.

If your governors embezzle the money, don't blame Nigeria. Blame yourselves.
