Influence and dominance are the same thing. The difference is the degree. Tanzania is merely influential in SADC, SA is dominant. Tz has always had an issue with a dominant country in any economic bloc. Your examples make sense but not relevant.

Dominance and Influence are two different things. France has dominance in West Africa and most West African countries can't do shit without Frances blessing on the other hand China, UK and the US have influence in East and Southern Africa, they can push us to do something but we can always say no and do other wise.
That my good friend is a simple real life difference between dominance and influence.

SA is the third largest exporter to Tanzania, with a market share of 9.63 percent. They sell you about R 3.5 billion while you sell them a measly R464 million.
