The Premier League is scheduling a tentative plan for games to start after 1 June, allowing the season to be finished within six weeks and the 2020-21 campaign to begin on August 8.

Over 600 people died in Italy last Friday and someone is still thinking about football at this time.

Under what conditions and circumstances will it be safe to resume football in Europe

Papa really vex me. I heard he locked his churches in US, but chose to disobey Nigerian Govt.

He even said locking up the church is like locking a hospital in today's service.

Now those of us staying in Ota and its environs should be more worried now.

Only one infected person that came to the church from Lagos can infect the whole Ota.

If not that a protest would increase the spread of virus, I would've advised residents of that area to stage a protest and demand for the man's arrest.

His action is more like someone bringing death close to home for all residents of that area. It just takes one person to start spreading it.

That man with that one service he held just thrashed all the effort of the state and federal Govt to contain the virus

Fingers crossed. It's even worse for the lower league teams who cannot survive without football.

Let's hope there is possibility for the season to end conclusively. I am all for extending it for as long as it takes. Last last they just jump straight into the next season after all by June it would be 4 months everybody has been sitting at home so the issue of resting again is completely out of it.

Italy just reported 793 deaths in one day and we haven't even gotten to it's peak. Just imagine for a moment any event that would cause that many deaths. Either a massive terrorist attack in a football stadium Or 2 full civilian planes colliding together. Thunder will punish all those Chinese for eating frogs and bats. This is beyond insanity.
More than 600 of those deaths come from the region of Lombardi. The north of Italy is bleeped up. Most people are still saying it's just the ordinary flu which is overhyped by the media. They maybe right because 20k people die from the ordinary flu every year just in U.S alone.

Even the common malaria as well killed an estimated 405,000 people Worldwide in 2018 and 416,000 people in 2017. The panic worldwide is making the disease look more deadly than it is.

Corona will kill that number in one country alone if left unchecked.

This is nothing like Malaria or Flu. Those diseases do not send such a large number of people into intensive care, overwhelming the whole health sector.

To put in demostrative terms, Flu kills those have exhausted 99% of their life juice ie 90 year olds, acute Cancer patients, AIDs patients etc. Corona kills people who have exhausted only 70% of their life juice eg 50 year olds and 60 year olds, as well as picking up some 20-40 year olds along the way.

This man was living in a rented apartment, two blocks away from my flat in Trans ekulu, when i served in Enugu. Less than 10yrs after, he became a governor. Life is unpredictable.

Meanwhile, as a Phd holder, he should do better.

700 dead in Italy in 1 day, if it goes on at the current rate, how many people do you think will die globally in 1 yr

After everyone is healed wont they need another 3 weeks of team training and how do you ensure the players don't go home and bring infections again

Apart from the fact that the Coronavirus is contagious and airborne, the biggest problem right now is the fact that there is not yet a vaccine or cure for it.
And the longer, the delay in getting good immunization or vaccinations against it, the virus has the potential to mutate eventually and become deadlier just like the Spanish flu.

Most of the 700 deaths reported on Italy died at home and it may not be of Coronavirus. Quote from a report out of Italy: "The mayor of the most badly affected city, Bergamo in the affluent northern region of Lombardy, said

"Many of the elderly are dying in their houses or in old people's homes, without anyone testing them either before or after they die," Giorgio Gori told the Huffington Post.

He added that a dozen mayors of other cities had confirmed the same thing to him as well

People with extreme conditions due to other diseases can't get medical treatment in time and passed away, not related to COVID-19, so total death toll could be higher due to the pandemic, not necessarily due to direct virus infection.  It will also get to its peak which means cases will start decreasing.

26,283 people die of Cancer everyday

24,641 people die of Heart Disease everyday

4,300 people die of Diabetes everyday

Not to be insensitive but 700death a day is nothing.

Swissh:

Italy has not reached it's peak. If a country records 6,500 new cases today and tomorrow its 6,400 and the next day 6000 cases and so forth gets lower then we’ll know it is the peak. When new cases start decreasing daily then it has reached it's peak.
