Yeah, but in reality is it 24V, 100AH grin

You have reservations about it? Tell us more...

same with lead carbon I believe.

But you get much lower cycle with those, you can try it out and share your experience who knows some of us may ditch Lithium for that. I like the fact that you don't need a BMS for lead carbon but one can't trade that for longer cycle that you get from lithium

Hi guys,

I currently have a setup with 2 200AH 12V each Zedix battery

I wanna add extra 2 200AH 12 v each Quanta batteries for more lasting and longer backup

Can it fly ?

You can check their documentation at their website below. A few differences:
GK: Batteryless, and high Voc, 3KVA has 80amps charge controller, support 4000W panel
MK: Parallel support, zero switching delay, low VOC, 3kva has 60amps charge controller, support 1500w panel

Sorry to take you back to this old post. I'm actually in the market shopping for Inverters and I'm trying to pick between the GK and MK series of the MPP solar inverters

The GK sure tops with all the newer features but I do need clarity on two things

1) What does the 'transfer time' mean. I noticed it's not zero like the MK?

2) Is it noisy because I read on Will Prowse review that the fan of the MPP is quite noisy?

Thanks in anticipation

No troubles.

It means the time it takes to switch power source, for the normal household appliances you won't notice the difference as all your equipment will still be on. As to noise yes MPP fan does makes some noise when on full spin, but it's bearable. I have my MPP indoor and it's not loud enough to wake my sound sensitive madam.

Good evening guys
I stumbled upon this thread and I really need help

So, dad's trying to switch to solar energy and I kinda need a breakdown of the suitable energy capacity to buy
Load is (2 standing fans, a tv, freezer, pumping machine, energy saving bulbs and 4 laptops).

Thanks in anticipation

We reside in Ekiti(Ado to be specific)

I may be able to help, since we reside in same location. For a start you need to be more specific on your consumption by checking actual rating of each load, a TV can consume 450w while another TV can consume less than 50w.

So I should wait till the Zedix dies out completely before I can start using the Quanta

Or set up the quanta separately...that may be complex and cumbersome sha...
But I think there is a way to switch from one battery bank to another...

Now it's even too late to mix it with same Zedix. Mixing it with another battery type will even make for a very shorter failure time.

You can manage it if it's like below two months and same make. In six months, especially in Nigeria, the battery must've experienced so many cycles that it won't be fair to connect a brand new battery with difference resistance and number of cycles to it. I guess you just have to use the Zedix till it's dead, then get four fresh new batteries.

I need me one of this. It's cheap compared to other lithum products.

Someone just said the actual capacity is half of the declared capacity, you still wanna get you one?

That lead carbon is sold for approximately the same amount of lithium but I won't put my money on it.

Yes the carbon layer gives it an edge over the regular lead battery in terms of sulphation which the latter is quick to degrade to. But from experience narrated by a user, it doesn't tolerate partial SoC and deep discharge like its brother.

So while it has the same weakness of sulphation as its brother, the difference is that the problem takes a much longer time to set in than that of ordinary lead, basically because if the carbon layer.

Yeah. You just reminded me. There's an accredited seller that advertised himself on NL. I hink he has a thread sef.

Edited: Sorry, it's a JBL accredited guy that has thread on NL, not Anker.

No it can't fly. not advisable. Rather sell the Zedix, add money, pick 2 quanta and install d 4pcs. Thank me later

Pls house what is your take on this charger? Is it better than famicare charger.

Better in terms of longetivity? I'll say yes, this is Huawei 48VDC 50A rectifier, commonly used by the telecom firms to supply power to antennas. This one is actually reconstructed to supply 12V instead of the default 48v. Yes, it is more rugged than the filmsy Famicare charger and I think it pushes more Amps than Famicare charger too.

Solar Panels That Work at Night
Jeremy Munday, a professor in the electrical and computer engineering department of the University of California, Davis, recently appeared in the news for discovering a way to generate electricity from solar panels even after the sun has set. The professor and researcher have been working on a solar panel prototype which in its current phase of R & D can produce 50 watts of electricity per square meter, which is about a quarter of what traditional solar panels can generate during a bright sunny day...https://www.itsmysun.com/solar-panels-which-can-generate-electricity-at-night/

Thanks for the response. Pls does it overcharge and how will i know if it has fully charged my battery. Thanks.

Apologies I missed this question, I am obliged to give a very general answer here in the interests of business protection.

For small volume purchases, anywhere between 400K and 700K per unit of US2000 (48v 50Ah).

This would be the landed cost of the item to Lagos and may or may not cover ongoing support and standard 5 year warranty at the lower end of the cost profile.

With the current trend in NGN to USD exchange rates and global lockdown on trade and movement, all bets are off what the final pricing will settle at now.

Jamzig1:

For a strictly day time use, I would rather go the AC coupled way.
Please can you give an estimate of how much you got the Pylons for?
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by NiyiOmoIyunade(m): 6:49pm On Mar 27, 2020
This is not a charger but rather a power supply unit predominantly used in Telecomms

Nigerians have repurposed it as a lead acid battery charger especially because of the very cheap price and high current capability.

Unfortunately, this charger in its default state can only 'float charge' a battery - the max voltage it can do is approximately 13.38v per 12v - this is insufficient to charge a lead acid battery properly but can quickly get you through the bulk charge stage.

I dimly recall that KieKie and one other source told me once that the techs at Oshodi could mod the PSU to put out higher voltages up to the 14v range per 12v battery - if this could be done reliably, it would make an excellent battery charger indeed.
