Yes I believe it uses CVT , I import my oils from transmission to engine oil .. The civic transmission needs special fluid, so make sure you use the recommended .

Picture below ....... And also any issues you might have with your civic , take it to a mechanic in ladipo that does Honda cars alone.. The guy is very, very ok and make sure you use the recommended engine oil ....

That's not CVT.

Good day fellow nlanders, happy quarantine, i wish this pandemic ends soon let our normal hustle continues. I need advice and suggestions from the gurus in the house. Am planning to partner with uber/bolt with at least 3 tokunbo vehicles. The issue am having is whether to choose between rentals or HP for this business. On rental basis, I want to put it on 25k weekly, 20k security deposit in case of default, then sell off as savage after 2 years. Or HP with 250k down payment . pls house which of these options will be suitable for this business , I need ideas and suggestion before I make decision pls. Guide me through the advantage/disadvantage of rentals / HP, and which is more preferred. Your criticism, suggestion and advice are welcomed. Thank you house.

Pls, the common Honda Civics from North America in our market does NOT use a CVT. CVTs in civics are more common with the the L-series engine, mostly found in Asia. North American civcs use the D series (pre 2006) and the R series (06-11 models) engines. Both are mated to a normal automatic transmission and not a CVT. The oil Dru23 first posted (Honda DW-1) is the appropriate transmission fluid for that vehicle and not a CVT oil, at least for the models readily found in Nigeria.

Good evening house, a friend wants to go into uber or bolt after this lock down issue is done but is not sure of the car to use. I am not into the biz so will like some recommendations.
I told him I have hear of accent, elantra, civic, city, corolla, cerato, etc
So please which is the best car to use ie fuel economy as well as maintenance.

Well, it is the oil required by the manufacturers for their car. "Expensive" is a relative term. It is available locally too, although you have a lot of counterfeits. If you have a steady source of getting the original at a cheap price, stick to it, your transmission will thank you for it.

Depending whom you buy it from. 1 liter of it can cost between 4k naira to 7k naira ... we have genuine sellers on nairaland ask around. I don't stock it at all, and you will need 4liters of it ....

And if you get less than the price I quoted , make sure it is not fake , good things don't come too cheap,

The only advice I will give you, if you are not ready to be hands on sell the cars .. If you are not ready to do all the maintenance 100% by yourself, sell the cars. If you are not ready for drivers to disappoint sell the cars.....

This is a tough business, know what you are getting yourself into .. Most drivers will disappoint you, and damage your cars and move on to the next victim.. And rental of 25k is very low , it shows you have no clue on what you are about to get yourself into .. At this rate you will not have enough put aside money for repairs ...Take it from me ,have been in the business for years ... A word is enough for the wise .......

Conclusion:: If you are not ready to do the things I mentioned above .. You are fooling yourself, and even if you are ready to do those things I mentioned above. You still face tough challenges...... Good luck
