VT4 Main Battle Tank is one of the world's best and most modern Battle Tank.

This Tank won against the T-90s from Russia and M1 Abrams Tank in the Thailand army main battle tank tender.

This is a real beast.

To win a contract is not only about the quality . it deppend on many things . the price ( thailand had a limited budget) , the version and options offered , transfer of thechnology ,maintnance terms (Beijing offered to build a major maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Khon Kaen, Thailand ) , the politic relations also .

Add that only thailand bought them in small numbers . so even if its a very good tank , we cant compare with the export succes of the T90 and Abrams

One prayer is it doesn't fall into BHT hands or eventually gets destroyed in Airstrike..
We were able to keep the ara MRAP in good hands we thank God..
Now the army should go for more ARA MRAP.its battle tested
More Ezugwu

While the air Force should produce more tsaigumi UAV I haven't heard anything from that bird since..
that tank should be operated by solely special forces and its gotta be guided by not less than 1000 troops per operation

Man, it's not an Armata T-14 Tank but it is currently one of the best in the world.

This is a netcentric Tank. One Tank can see a target, then send that information to a second tank that is another location to engage it.
Lol i know nothing about tanks, thanks.

The VT4 MBT (35 vehicles initial orders) of Nigeria Army has landed. What we should emphasize is the inclusion of APFSDS (SABOT) rounds (2nd pix, 2nd munition right of front row)and AT-11 ATGM (2nd pix, 1st missile left of front row) in munitions purchase

That doesn't make any sense.

Either they owe is the money or not and there are official channels for it be sent back to us

99% of guys here now are new comers, during the dark days where SiriusBlack was in the N.E frontline, then we got most of the gist from is thread before it was taken down. Then I was just deployed to the north east for the second time, bomb blast was the order of the day and constant attack on military formations.

The NA was totally humiliated, @samuelanyawu who is saying BHT is roaming freely now in the N.E, way back during the dark days Monguno where his currently working now was totally in control of BHT likewise other L.G.A then.
Much has to be done and can be done, I can beat my chest that things are far better now.

I am not new.

I have chosen to keep quite.

Because l have friends and family in the Nigerian armed forces.

And it's very frustrating to watch things unfolding and not being able to do anything about it.

Wrong decision in a corporate business entity result in a loss of profits. However, wrong decisions in the corporate entity of the NA albeit the business of war results in the irreplaceable loss of lives.

But why are you talking like NA doesn't give responses after comprehensive losses too?

As for this whole matter, I'm among those that believe we don't have leaders both in khakis and agbadas ready to see this through.

It would help when you respond to give comprehensive examples.

Maybe l am wrong but l have never heard of a Chadian army base been over run, taken over for days, multiple soldiers killed and weapons carted off and or destroyed.

This is the first time it seems to have happened to the Chadians please correct me factually if I'm wrong.

Boko have been literally uprooted comprehensively wiped out from Chad in the space of a week.

In Comparison how long have Boko made Sambisa thier operating home base without being uprooted ❓ What has been the comprehensive response by the NA.

How many Nigerian armed forces bases have been over run by BOKO and sometimes they Boko have done a rerun and come back . In the past 10 years❓

Wait. You think 1500 troops will be in one staging area or what is this that I'm reading?

I made an informed deduction from the facts presented by General Adeniyi.

General Adeniyi had standing right beside him two other Generals and explained they were the sector commanders for two different Battalions.

All three of them were in the forward position with the three MRAP's. A Battalion will have at the very minimum 500 troops, that equates to 1500 troops in that sector.

How three Battalions have 3 MRAP's between them for a frontal assault is very shocking to me.

For people interested, NA has taken delivery of Chinese ST1 light tanks and VT4 MBTs

https://dailytimes.ng/insurgency-army-takes-delivery-of-sophisticated-armaments-from-china/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/04/08/insurgency-army-takes-delivery-of-armoured-tanks-artillery-trucks/

Is this good news❓ l simply do not know.

Without establishing the number, quality and the amount of money used to procure them. I really can not say it's good news.

If you have a fire in your house and you then use a small car fire extinguisher to attack the fire you are simply waiting your time.

When we talk about changing the tide of battle it's about allocation of resources for cheap best outcome delivery.

For instance, I would rather buy from Ukraine 100 T64 upgraded refurbished tanks than 20 Chinese ones. Obviously the 100 T64 will have far greater impact on the whole battlefield management and delivery.

Guy can't u be grateful for ones
You are always *I'll rather this and that*
What is now wrong if they buy new VT-4.
I'm sure if they had bought refurbished tanks you'll say they sold Nigeria repaired scraps from junkyards...
It's a 154million dollar deal...
The amount of machines dropped yesterday was 17

Although I advocated this VT4 as far back as 2017 or so... IMHO we don't need it. Factor in training and competency time and how little an MBT will have on the battlefield, you just want to slap the red out of a General's collar!

Get the boys some bloody IFVs! Refurbished BMP2s could be landing in Nigeria in tens and twentys by April ending!

Back to the question of best value.

To make a difference you need to be able to deploy sufficient number of assistance to give yourself over riding advantage.

BMP 2 are dirt cheap have some issues with the fuel tanks in the rear doors. But they can still be very effective.

How much do they cost used from multiple suppliers in the former Eastern block. Probably about $40k per unit. Effectively less than a Toyota Land cruiser gun truck. I speculated not substantiated that we probably pay $45k for each Toyota gun truck we buy. Anybody know what we pay.

In this regard we shouldn't be buying anything less that 200 units, that will completely change the dynamics on the ground.

I am not a great fan of the BTR 80, think the Ukrainian BTR3 are better. Again easily procured with RWS and some basic FLIR. Between $35- 120K depending if you want to retrofit and do the upgrades yourself.

In this regard we should procure at least 500, stop our troops going in the back of Big yellow dumpster trucks and soft skinned pick ups.
