Is it possible for a 45years person with the 491 visa to get a permanent resident in Australia? |

Hello, please I have a question, I pulled the below quote from someone that put together a guide for applying for the PR visa: "Some occupations are invited on pro-rata basis, these occupations are allocated a certain number of invite every draw. So this means people in less popular occupations will get invited faster and also with lesser points. Eg. A valuer can apply with 65 points today and get an invite next month while a software developer with 75 points will have to wait longer. Think of this as every occupation having a separate queue and people getting attended to faster than the other based on the length of the queue. " So my question is this, - Is this information still valid, because I know that Australia sometimes change their requirements. - I'm a Landscape Architect, does this mean that if my occupation is less popular and I have a score of 75(my stimulated score) I will get invited even though my score is not up to 90(the current score). Thanks. |

readandwrite: At the moment, it is not valid for 189 as only applicants with 90 and above have been invited in recent times however this theory works for 190/491. A cabinet maker with 75 points may get an ITA before an Engineer with 95 point. 1 Like |

@omoluabiade, on a second thought, id advise you use your Bsc and MSc only for assessment with Vetassess. Add your PhD when you are lodging EOI. Save your stress Vetassess inconsistencies in that aspect. |

ajayidebo: Thanks for this. I am grateful. I was scared that my both schools may not be on the VETASSESS AQF list. However, can 75 points get me ITA, once I complete my assessment with VETASSESS? Secondly, will being married be of any advantage in my case? Thanks. |

Well, before the Covid19 outbreak, with 75points you would have been able to apply for nomination with Northern Territory. That's pretty much the situation with your occupation/projected point. However, these things are subject to change and we are hoping for a more accessible requirements in the New financial year. For couples, maximum of 10points is there for the taking. Read these for further information and requirements. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-independent-189/points-table for further information. Canadahome: |

Okay. Thanks for this. Is it possible to include a degree without assessing it? Or is VETASSESS only to assess qualification against work experience? Is it also possible to assess just the highest qualification (MSc)? tunlex01: |

ajayidebo: Thank you so much for taking out time to answer my questions. From what I read, I could add extra 5 points if I am married and my partner makes up to 6across all bands in Ielts. This would bring my total point to 80. Well, I am planning to get married before the end of the year. I think this 80 is a good point depending on the situation after the pandemic. I have been on Canada immigration and I am waiting for WES to release my evaluation report. Because of this pandemic, I am trying to have a plan B in case the scores becomes high after the whole crisis. Since, I stand a good chance, I would have to see how to start my assessment with Vetassess after the lockdown while I observe how things are going on the Canada stuff. Finally, am I suppose to have money in my account when applying for 491? If yes, how much, please. I didn't see anything like that. |

You did your research really well and right on the 6 in a bands for partner points. Proof of Funds is not a requirement for all states. In most cases, they'll ask you to declare. When you get to that point, I'm sure you'll get all the guidance needed. Good luck with your Canada process. Canadahome: 1 Like |

Anzscosearch.com/search Find an occupation that is closely related to any of the below mentioned. Also, these Occupations are Skill Level 1, your BSc have to be from a Tier 1 university or 5 years program. If not, unless you find an occupation under skill level 2, I'm afraid you'll have to look for other alternatives. gladysene89: |

@tunlex01 I need a clarification on @omoluabiade last question. If HND alone is enough for assessment for occupation under Skill Level 2 without including ND, shouldn't the same apply for MSc and BSc? @omoluabiade, if you're not going to provide transcript and certificate for a degree, don't include them on the application. Just to add, even if you include them on the application from onset, you can always send a mail/instruction to Vetassess not to assess that particular degree. omoluabiade: |

ajayidebo: I am sorry if I am asking to many questions. In respect to the above quote, how do I know where my both universities fall into? Tier 1? Bsc in Public Administration (4years) from Ebonyi state university. Msc in HRM (2years) from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. In addition, I noticed that in NT and NSW one need a job offer to stand a chance for nomination under 491. Correct me if I am wrong please. Is there anyone who has been nominated under Human Resource Advisor (491). Please, help a brother. |

Good day everyone. I hope we are good and keeping safe. I received a scanned assessment result letter from AIMS this morning, they had earlier sent the original copy which got stuck in God knows country due to COVID19 pandemics. The outcome of my assessment fetched me 10 years 2 months experience as a Lab technician. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions on this platform, most especially @tunlex01 and @Bellong, God bless you, I appreciate it. I will need a lot of clarifications and guidance during the course of this journey, I hope you guys will be there to put me through. My questions now are as follows: 1.To anyone who sat for AIMS exam, was it really worth it, or I should just maintain Lab technician? 2. I have an overlap in the start&end dates of employment at two places of work. I used my terminal leave at workplace A to resume at workplace B giving an overlap of days, how do I justify this during application? Best regards |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by ajayidebo: 7:46am On Apr 16, 2020 |
MSc is a highly qualification than BSc, so it doesn't matter what University. What they required for a Skill Level 1 occupation is BSc or equivalent or higher qualifications. In this case, your MSc is higher. How do I know where my both universities fall into? -I don't know them by heart. I'd advise you'll go through the thread. It was discussed a while ago. NT does not require job offer for your occupation. NSW on the other hand requires either a job offer or 5 year work experience. Canadahome: |

omoluabiade:Yes, for PhD as long as the minimum requirements is satisfied which include Trade test, Bachelor's degree or Master's (for lecturers) Vetassess or any assessing body assess both the qualification and experience. You can submit just the MSc only. |

Canadahome: You will not get the extra 10 points for single if you get married. That means for you to get 10 points as a married person, you spouse must have a positive skill assessment and at least 6 in IEltS |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 1:06pm On Apr 16, 2020 |
ajayidebo:it applies. Just the Msc is fine. if Vetassess wants more, they will send the request to you. |

Ayooluwa18: You are right on track. Please keep rewriting the Pte till you get your 20 points. 80 points is still low for family sponsored visa. No other region is available, even NSW requires 5 years experience which you don't have. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 1:15pm On Apr 16, 2020 |
Mamabigboy: Congratulations on your positive assessment. 1. Best you do it when you land. Just stick to the MLT for now but if you have enough money, you can go for it. 2. Just write a letter of explanation when you apply for visa. As long as you have offer letter and other documents. |
