Expand your business, structure your business that the business can afford to grow in your absence.

Diversify into assets that can give passive income eg real estate, bonds, money market funds, Treasury Bills and the stock market.
Passive income will continue to generate income in your absence, when you are sick, incapacitated and dead.

Good day Bosses,

With all the uncertainty caused by this pandemic, I realize the need to be careful of committing funds to any long term investments; however I can't just leave my $ funds lying in the bank (due to bank charges; I'm a freelancer), please I need suggestions on any safe $ investments I can leave my funds for the time being pending further improvements. My goal here is preservation of my capital.

My Tbills is to expire first week in July. With the current trends, would it be wise to terminate investment now and buy dollars to keep in a dom account? I’m very much interested in preserving the spending power of my little savings. Which bank is preferable for dom acct opening and maintenance? If I deposit $5k would I be able to withdraw everything when I need it?

Opening any account with GTB is without money I.e Zero balance . Dorm accounts inclusive. Though you will still be advised to fund the account when open but that will be totally at your discretion. Also, I don't think there are maintenance charges with their dorm account.

The charges you are likely to get will be transfer charges and the likes..

412 right now. I think dollar will hit 500 this year before dropping but won’t drop less than 400. If you have anything you need the money for currently you can change but if not just continue monitoring the rates every day

If you can supervise/monitor your business for a minimum of 80%, then go to business section and start reading those threads that arouse your interest. Pls beware of scammers! You will get some clues on how to start establishing your own business empires. You can start small btw.

You can check out car washing( good location), real estate (start buying not-so-expensive lands and developing them to reasonable level if there can be land grabbers), farming, transport business/higher purchase and etc.

Remember also that global recession is coming and it's important to be careful in choosing business to venture into at this period.

That is really low. Its just that I don't really have a lot of ideas on how to invest my money. Please can u tell me other ways of investing my money that will be really profitable and genuine so I can read it up. How is govt bond at this time? Thank you.

Controversial human being... grin you don go Banana Island before? If you go there, you go see sey dem no born 1 million Boys Brigade to near there. Na shoot at sight ooo.

On a more serious note, bro, you should let go of some of your proclivities so that you can harness the wealth of knowledge and experience this thread possess.

Also, endeavour to make contributions with the intentions of learning more, rather than wanting to impose your ideologies and contrary opinions. It is not a challenge.

Your account is new, so it is safe to assume that you just discovered Nairaland, unless you have been a guest all along or you have multiple monikers. This thread has survived this long because of the constructive contributions anchored on continuous knowledge sharing. We hardly hoard information here. All you have to do is keep asking.

Some months ago, someone gave a detailed exposition about how he started his lending business during his Banking Graduate Trainee days and grew his capital base to tens of millions presently. It was a rude eye-opener for me! If i wanted to tow that line, i could have just sent him a PM and, if he could divulge so much here, i am sure he could have also walked me through privately as well

Late last year too, just when NTB started its decline, you needed to see the discussions that went down here about techniques to be profitable in real estate. It was really really enlightening for me. If i were to venture into real estate today, i am sure i would avoid the pitfalls most of our elders here made when they started out earlier.

Shares and Stocks nko, Elder Emma has taken us through salient tips one should know about Shares. From choosing a broker to even recommending stocks one can immediately buy into, everything was laid bare here.

Most times, when these discussions are about to begin, it doesnt start with the headline "This is a secret". No! But you will definitely spot secrets our formal education and street knowledge couldnt provide. Only practice and experience afforded it.

Capitalism dont exist here, bro. We share information freely, and just like someone pointed out earlier, the sky in here can accomodate all the birds.
You are right bro. I learnt alot from this thread. God bless you all.

I've gotten quotes for 420 and 423.5. what's your source for the 410? Or are you mistaking buy side for sell side?

Now that oil prices have crashed and keep crashing. What effect does it have on Tb on the long rum?

States are worried that there won't be salary again in next 3 months. Does it mean that govt will borrow more naira locally?

Is the future of tb safe?

What is the treasury bills market going to look like in the next 6 to 12 months; seeing the crash in oil price and shortfall in revenue available to the Nigeria government to finance its expenses

Between the third and fourth quarter of this year, some people who invested in most of these High Yield Investments will realize that they have invested in a Ponzi scheme by then the bubbles would have bursted

The promoters need funds from new speculators in order to pay existing speculators, their fund raising exercises are endless until when the bubbles burst.

They will find it difficult to get new funds going forward due to the current recession in the country, hence the bubbles will burst earlier than expected.
