really appreciate those who bought Avenir hot pepper seedlings from us.

God bless you

We've also successfully got 1500 Avenir pepper stand doing well, hoping to complete the other phase in some days

what you need is one roll 1 inch hose and stepped down to another roll of 3/4 pipe it will cover the farm, but make sure you have a reliable power source and a strong worker because he will stand for not less than 4-5 hrs before an acre will be irrigated,it only needs guts to dare,we currently have 12,000 crops at 3 weeks we used hose for irrigation every other day.

if you must use hose then you will plan to use the hole system for good water retention,1 inch hose #11,000 naira,3/4 hose #9,000 k,you must have generator in case power fails, fuel #1,000 to water one acre at a time, make available contingency money in case borehole pump fails.

Really. Is setting up irrigation system for an acre this cheap. Or am I missing something that's a total of #19,000 excluding fuel.
I need more clarification
Thanks

How effective is Lara force contact insecticide and Zforce fungicide.
Thanks
.
They're all effective if u use them well. Generally, u don't just make use of 1 pesticide over and over. Use at least 2 or 3 with different MOA (modes of action). That way, pests and diseases won't get use to them. Laraforce is a pyrethroid insecticides. Other members of that family includes cypermethrin, deltamethrin, tefluthrin etc. See a huge list of insecticide moa here: https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pi121

It is better to combine Zforce with a systemic fungicide like hexaconazole, strobilurin etc. Zforce is just a protectant fungicide - it protects uninfected leaves.

Please I'd like to ask a question, from your experience in growing okro, does it attract disease to other plants if intercroped? I'm asking because I planted okro on a plot and later added some ugu, the ugu are showing signs of fungal and bacteria diseases all over their leaves, while the okro are still fine after an early stage attack from aphids, someone said the diseases on the ugu is as a result of intercropping with Okro, how true is this I don't know, hence the need for my questions, experts in the house kindly help

4. Spray insecticides under leaves
(with this mtd, u can use lower concentration and still get good result)
5. Overhead irrigation (sprinklers) have been known to reduce whitefly population because they knock off immature stages of whiteflies and other pests. They also knock off spidermites. to avoid foliar diseases, irrigate only in the morning or afternoon to allow time for moisture on leaves to dry out. Whiteflies dealt with my cuke and okra because I was using furrow irrigation and I did not fertilize well.

6. Planting coriander close to your crop will chase whiteflies away. I have not used this yet.

There are many other ways but I believe these ones here will work fine. So far there is no whiteflies on my peppers. But they don't like peppers as they like cucumbers and okra. So I will confirm their effectiveness if I plant these 2 crops again.

You can but I don't think it is the best. The cans will rust with time and making drain holes will be harder. Why not sow on a nursery bed and later transplant to single grow bags or even pure water satchets.

Hi,

Is there a reason to transplant to grow bags first instead of directly to soil?

Thanks for your advice... The issue is I have already planted on nursery bed and they are four weeks old now.. So I have been thinking if should transfer them to cans as medium for single grow since nursery bags isn't readily available here in my area and I have am t of cans. Is it still good if I transfer them to the cans ?

the clarification you need is planning your farm from the beginning to work with hose and pump,if the land needs ridges then the holes must be done on top of the ridges but if the soil is a well draining type then it can be done straight on the ground without any further preamble, this are the pics of two farms we have now ,the grown one is on one acre while the smaller ones are on half acre all irrigated with hose.
