Rio Ferdinand: "To keep on absolutely pounding him [Pogba] with blame and bringing his name into the conversation right now in such a negative way. He's played seven [Premier League] games this season."

Rio Ferdinand: "He's [Pogba] the focal point as to why Manchester United aren't doing so well. How does that happen, how is he to blame?"

Would you say Stam was better than Vidic?

Probably.

3 years at United. 3 EPL titles. 3 PFA Team of the Year. 2 UEFA Club Defender of the Year. 1 champions league.

For that 3 year span Stam was the most feared and toughest defender in Europe. Vidic played for longer, and played with better keepers and a better defensive partner.
The major reason we didn't win a 4th consecutive league title in 2001/2002 was because Fergie replaced Stam with an ageing Laurent Blanc.

I didn't really watch Stam that much though I know he was massive.

Why did Fergie drop Stam?

Why did Fergie drop Stam?

Most people believe it was linked to his autobiography in which he revealed that Fergie had tapped him from PSV before getting permission from the club to speak to him. The view most have is that this made Fergie sell him in a fit of anger.

Recently Stam and Fergie have claimed it was because he was recovering from a serious injury and Fergie mistakenly thought he would become a liability as he entered his 30s due to loss of pace.

I call B.S on that because his replacement was Blanc who was a million times slower and older. Sounds a bit like revisionist history to me.

IMO it was mainly due to that book which i vividly recall caused ripples in the news when it came out.

Fergie has his favorites sha. If ‘‘twas Scholes he probably won’t oust him out of the club.

What's your Assessment of Ayodeji Sotona. To me he seems pacy, strong and skillful. I think he has future at United.

From Sanchos perspective: I think its too early for him as the expectations at Man utd might be too much for him to handle, I feel he needs another 2 seasons at Dortmund where he can develop before going to a club like Man Utd

Man Utd perspective: These days with fewer talents in the market, clubs are gambling on players early cos by the time you wait for them to mature they would cost a arm and a leg, Bayerns 2 wingers currently are Gnabry and Coman, whom we gambled on when they were young for a low fee, if we want to buy them at current market, we might not even be able to afford them

that's fair.
I actually asked because I was on some conference call with a few people today and discussions eventually got to football. a couple were conc Bayern fans and they all opposed the idea of Sancho moving to United for no reason. I naturally felt they also want him in their team, he must be quite good.
the others who were EPL rivals felt Ole has been following some good coordinates in the market, and of course no rival wants that. the consensus seem to be of a positive tone. I hope we manage to pull it off.

I have only seen him once in the UCL.
I just needed to hear your view based on having an assessment of him first hand as a direct rival in the league.

I havent heard much of a Bayern interest in Sancho. Bayern is looking at Sane. The plan is to have Sane(left) and Gnabry(right) 2 Germans on both wings with Coman and likely Perisic as their backup.

We also are interested in Kai Harvetz so to let Coutinho go, get rid of Tolliso to give more time to Goretzka and Harvetz also watch Sule and Hernandez if they will return to full fitness if not we might start considering some other CBs

He definitely has those qualities you mentioned however his finishing is inconsistent and his footballing IQ is suspect.

I need to watch him a bit more before I really give an assessment, but i think Shoretire has the greater potential (if he can avoid the Angel Gomes small man problem).

For me Mejbri is the outstanding talent in the under 18s so far. However talent does not always equate to ability or achievement.

Solskjær has made plans for Pogba to be a key part of Manchester United future. He wants Pogba to build a midfield partnership with Bruno Fernandes. The Frenchman has been told he will be straight back in the team when games resume.

“I remember watching Ravel Morrison thinking he had everything required for a player in his position. He nutmegged Nemanja Vidic three times in the space of a minute in one training game.

“But he struggled with lifestyle and his environment which was sad for him — because I saw Paul Pogba come through, Jesse Lingard, all these players and Ravel was better than any of them by a country mile.”

It’s either injuries or a lot of money that always creates obstacles for them..

Januzaj’s own was just bad timing, he would have done better under this current setup.
