I don't understand how getting a decent picture of the ARA MRAP on the front lines seems so difficult angry

I think when the numbers increase, we would be able to get clear pics.

If it was bought by the Air Force, it would have been a different story.

Really? That freeboard looks way too small.

[url][www.britannica.com/technology/freeboard-navigationurl]

An 85 m OPV like the BAM can handle up to sea state 5. Can the SDM or barge deal with SS3?

Look at that larger ship fighting the sea. Observe.

I clearly stated they won't be able to handle rough seas.

They won't sail to South-Africa, they have however sailed to Ghana.

Ideally it needs own 14.5 mm or .50 BMG to combine direct fire capability not just self defence.

I agree.

Short Documentary on the Ezugwu MRAP.

Very close range firing with AK-47.

It can resist 12KG mine. Same as ARA II from Proforce.

I clearly recognise the location were this vehicle are tested.

I've been avoiding this exchange: also months of testing before even a live missile fire involving different sensor systems, sub systems, different OEMs with their individual products, field tests, trial and error incorporating extant radar and fire control system may take up to a year if rushed,2 is the norm.

Smh. ... I think many of us are very one-sided. pardon me, I made this same point earlier. And it is very sad.

the guy @fineman87, said clearly that- missiles could be fitted within hours in adverse conditions. ... He was very clear that 'in adverse conditions' i.e, under threats of war or with war looming. He was not talking about peacetime where you have all the time. He gave examples of the Biafran inventions which were achieved in shortest times. Yet, some of you continue talking about- months of testing, live fire, sensor systems, fire controls, and rubbish. Absolutely pointless comments that don't relate to the adverse situation he mentioned. The Ogbunigwe was very effective and killed many Nigerian troops. In fact troops were scared of it. ... Did the Biafrans do the months of testing and live fire before using their bombs? Or did they develop systems.

Simple 'adverse condition', some people were deaf to.

It's very sad, but the young man was right. It is on record that during WW2, ships were built in days. The Liberty class of ships were built completely within 5 days and earlier 150 days. Yes, that is a 10,000 tons ship built in 5days in adverse conditions like the guy @fineman87 was talking about. I attach a link for doubting fellows. War is a national effort and the whole country pulls every damn resource and expertise to achieve any objective. See the link below, please.

http://www.usmm.org/peary.html

That is a full ocean going ship built from start to finish in 5days and deployed to war. So yes, assuming the Navy has missiles in storage and competent weapons engineers, they could fit the missiles on ships as soon as possible, in adverse conditions. It doesn't call for argument or mockery. He was very right.

Many of us are just too dogmatic and unreasonable. And it's a shame.

I'm aware of liberty boats. The US had the infrastructure, the yards, the steel mills producing thousands of tons of special mild naval steel, the cadre of experienced workers, the money to mobilise for the entire project and more importantly the national will.
Assuming Naij had the cash do they have at present the cadre to construct VL systems? Do they have guys qualified for through-deck fitting the project would entail? Do extant ships have the requisite internal volume and/or deckspace ?
Mach 2.5 Ashms like the Brahmos start at 4 mn USD a piece IIRC,fyi. The combat radar system is a whole 'nother cost.
.
The latest missile for the Aegis system, the SM-3 Block IIA, jointly developed by Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (7011.T) and Raytheon, cost about $30 million each.

The dangers of women leadership are very very real!

Kabe1 was right. And their "woman prime minister was right" too.

Look at the map and see where New Zealand is, they don't need fighter jets. Australia is a sister nation and is never a threat.

Other countries would need aircraft carriers to send fighter jets to New Zealand and sustain the fighter jets. So, threat assessment means NZ does not need fighter jets. SAM are sufficient.
