Please store Mercury to do what?

SQLmastar:
Take the 5M and discharge!
Rent a house with 500k, furnish it with 100k
Rent a store with 200k, stock it with Mercury (3M worth).

He'll will break even in 6months... then continue expanding until you become richer than Dangote.

Then join politicks and contest for House of reps...

5m is like giving u a free 5year pay advance on ur 100k job bt this time without working a day for 5years for it. U have a 5year head start to get ur life sorted.

Why wud i work and wait 5years on a 100k job to get same 5m? Unless I don't know what to do with the funds and will squander it.

It's a simple maths, veryyy simple,

COLLECT THE 5M, INVEST IT, THEN LOOK FOR A JOB THAT PAYS 100K or even more.
ABI NA ONLY THE COMPANY DE OFFER JOB FOR NIGERIA?
Re: N5 Million Cash Or A 100k Job? Help Him Decide by VillageHead: 12:23am On May 11, 2020
The Village Head will advise you accept the 5 million naira.

Take a chunk of it (500k) and buy yourself a decent Federal Job. Don't pay out rightly till your appointment letter has been handed over to you.

Put the remaining 4.5k in a bank and strategise on what to do with it.

With this pandemic, you might be laid of from that 100k job your late brother's company is promising you within 6 months to a year. We all know that government jobs have security.

I pray you are wise!

God bless you

Use d remaining 1.5 million to get an uber standard ride, register with uber, make your money and flex the remaining 1M. I think FIRS is presently issuing appointment letters try ur luck there. Its a cool place to work.

This is a no brianer! #5m.
Take the #5M and become your own boss.

Buy a Camry of #2m and use for Uber.

Do only two trips of 3k everyday for each month and your take home would be around 100k

Cash is king.
With benefit of hindsight, 20 to 24 years ago, a couple of friends had same choice, fast money was being made, some boys had a couple of thousands and even millions in their account, you also had within these friends those that desired to get jobs in eg civil service ie faan, police, ministries etc even proper companies. Fast forward till today. Those working class guys are now top people in their organisation's. Apart from salaries, we all know the Nigerian way. Most are multi millionaires now with pension, multiple properties around the world. On the other hand the fast guys that went into business, a lower percentage made it today.
Taking risk also needs luck.
If you do not have an existing trade to invest 5m into, you better take the job, there is a possibility you will grow in the company, get some experience and make some money there or raise finance to start your own business based on what you learnt at that company.
5m might seem a lot of money, but my dear it is not. In 1 year you could loose it all going into business you know nothing about.
Letf to me, my candid advice if your friend is young with age in his side along with necessary education is to process Canadian immigration with the 5m and start life elseware.

sure scam go dey but he can meet a staff who can confide in him and tell him the situation of things and how to go about it. No. Staff will want to lose his job for a cheap scam. If he is not a graduate, even with an SSCE in some very good govt organization take cool pays plus he has his uber car as double assurance. He just needs to be very smart about the whole thing.

Even a fool knows 5 million naira is the right option

with 5 million naira I will buy 2 Toyota Corrola and put it on uber / taxify and I will register with Jumia delivery partners like AIG logistic, i'll drive one and get a driver to drive the other one .. I bet you my monthly earning from jumia delivery + Uber + Taxify would exceed 500k a month after cost of vehicle depreciation, salary and vehicle mentainance, and every 6 months I would expand my fleet , and with a good comprehensive insurance premium of 80k-120k per anum, my investment are fvcking safe.. infact I might be tempted to pray for an accident or for the car to get stolen as I would get the cost of my car back as claims

but 100k running someones business where you don't have executive decisions or business decision is like cowardly placing your life In the hands of the company directors that can fire you at anytime

.

I will advise you take the cash, there is no job security anywhere.
If you have been in business previously, you can use to money to upgrade your business.
If you were not into any kind of business, I will advise you look around for what you have passion for, collect the cash, make a #4.5m fixed deposit in the bank.
Use from the #500,000 for training and testing the water. You will need a lot of discipline especially if you have not handled such amount before.
#5,000,000 takes several yes to save but it can be mismanage within a week. Be wise and deliver yourself from "I wish I knew".

My final word:

Poverty have been around several million years before you were born, so don't think with #5M you can eliminate poverty by using the money to solve family and friends problem.

I swear. The vast contrast between the two options makes me doubt the question is genuine to begin with.

I agree with you. Why will anybody be given a choice between N5million and a salary of N100k? You can get an instant treasury interest of N600k from N5m for a single year investment. Your N5M will still be intact. He can use the money(600K) as error and trial business. If the business failed, he can still get another 600K interest from his N5M to try another business until he finally succeed. If he wants to grow his money without looking at any business or taking risk, he can divide the interest into halves and add one half of 300k to the N5M investment. The following year he can get 640K interest while his capital would be N5.6million in one year with an interest of 620k. With N5m, your money can work for you risk-free.

NO BANK will pay you that much per month here in Nigeria on fixed deposit.

I would have said the whole world but I am just being cautious

True. No bank will pay that all over the world. 250k will be the amount he will get in one full year at 5% rate fixed deposit. He can't earn more than 25k per month on N5m. In western part of the world, fixed deposit rate is 2-3%. It is least risk-free investment any investor would do.

5m in this period can buy lots of things...
Collect the money. Na only person who never work before will advise him to go for the job offer.
Take 5m if u don't know what to do, fix it for monthly return with a micorfinance or cooperative society.

Or better still start applying for Germany or Canada visa

Leave that applying cos street boys will collect it if not careful.

I will advice that you collect the money to start retail business. Then you can also offer to work with the company partner with no salary if they would need you do so. I guest something great may be attached to the job yet undisclosed to you.
Be wise to choose.

enterpreneurs are BORN.
If the person in question is not an enterpreneur,it's better for him or her to stick with 100k per month
So no one can learn to be an entrepreneur or those that learn from their masters and later become their own bosses were also born with it?

There are businesses that do not require all the rigours of entrepreneurship as you may think. Anybody could actually do them.
