I remember when I was trying to get a tourist visa and I had to comb through this thread to gather as much info as I could. Great to say it ended up being easier than I thought cos' I already had a rough idea of what to expect.

However, I am now a resident in UAE and I was able to get the residency visa myself without any help from an agent. I have summarised the process on this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/5842085/how-got-uae-residence-permit.

Updated: Topic removed maybe because there's a general thread. You can see the video below:

You can also check it out if you want to have an average idea of how to get a residence visa in UAE all by yourself.

Thanks to everyone that has dropped useful information on this thread in the past, only God can reward you.

Nice work on your YouTube channel. I went through the same process and also got mine as well.

The process is straightforward in as much as you have money and meet the requirements.

Hello house am asking on behalf of someone......

A friend who has the desire to travel to UAE after the covid pandemic, wants to know if $500 a month salary without rent or transportation is a good idea?

Is this idea a good one?

That's like 2000aed without rent or transport. It depends on many factors. Like how much the person was earning before. How many hours work will it be. Is this 2000aed with overtime and no off duty. Will he have to pay anything for Emirates ID and how much and how. Can he leave the company after 6months without cost. What kind of physical activity is involved and can he cope. What can he do with savings and personal enhancement so that he finds the "sacrifice" worthwhile. And so forth, but these are basic questions to answer. In UAE, those earning $500 and less literally work for the money. It doesn't just drop on the laps.

Tiller Job is not a good job. The Sun will deal with you.
Don't trust him.
You might not even see the job he is even promising you.

Hello guys. What skills are in demand in UAE? I plan to move there soon
Re: QATAR AND UAE GENERAL VISA ENQUIRIES Part 3 by charliesyndrom: 12:57am On May 13, 2020

None.

Every other menial jobs like cleaners, maid, waiter/waitress, packers, construction assistants etc pay between 750 to 1200 Dirhams monthly since they are likely going to give you accommodation. But if accommodation is not given, the salary might increase a bit.

Few technical jobs like drivers, tillers, mechanics, sales attendants etc can earn between 1000 to 2500 Dirhams monthly.

Graduates who have authenticated their certificates like Admin officer, Teachers, Assistant HR, Accountants, Nurses etc can earn between 2500 and 4000 Dirhams monthly. It could be a little bit higher or lesser depending on experience and the type of organisation you work with.

Hello gurus, how long does it take to authenticate certificates and how much? Is it a day thing? Would they do actual verification from the school? Also, my school has not done any convocation since 2016 I graduated so I don't have the cert yet, I v been using Statement of Result since graduation.... Can statement of result be authenticated in the place of certificate ?

None to be precise.

It is better to plan your way to Europe or America, but if you still want to come be prepared for the challenges ahead.

Thanks.

Hello gurus I need your advice, I work with a security company in Nigeria as an Administrator of a software which is used in creating the rosters and time sheets that security officers use in working in their various sites. it's an Intl company with one of its branches in UAE. I'm thinking of either speaking to my HR if a transfer would be possible or going to UAE with a tourist visa and locating the company. I believe that asking for a transfer from my HR can only work out if there is a similar vacancy in my line of duty in their branch in UAE. What would u guys advise? Though I don't know if the company's branch in UAE wound welcome a transfer because I wont say my job is an expatriate job which is sought after or in demand, although, most vacant openings for the position usually require previous knowledge on the software. I have a year and half experience on the job. I am single, a Bsc holder in Banking and finance, 2nd class, but with the poor pay I receive in Nigeria I have to opt for better opportunities. I have applied for so many jobs but probably cos I don't have anybody pulling strings for me I've not gotten any. I'm fed up and that's y I am considering moving out. I dont have the funds to chase Canada, America or Europe and that's y I'm choosing UAE. Advice please

I don't know too much about this. But I think anything related to security work, you have to do SIRA training. There are different ones but the entry one used to be 1700aed. Others are more expensive. So keep it in mind.

Will that be working in a plastic factory? If that is the case, this might not suit you since you don't like stress. It might involve working long hours with very little pay.

All visa violators will be exempt from fines thanks to a new order by the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, an official said on Wednesday.

People with entry or residency permits that expired before March 1, 2020, will not have to pay fines, it was announced in a media briefing.

@uaegov
Brigadier General Al Kaabi: As per the directives of UAE President,His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, holders of both residency and visit visas that expired in early March are exempted from fines. They have a three-month grace period to depart UAE starting May 18th.

Brigadier Khamis Al Kaabi, spokesperson of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, added that the presidential order includes full waiver of fines for people with expired entry or residency permits willing to leave the country after May 18 - this grace period will last for another three months.

"The order includes waiver of fines on expired Emirates ID and work permits," Brig Al Kaabi said.

forget about coming to uae this year, infact traveling abroad to seek greener pasture generally. The whole world is messed up economically, chances of getting a job was 70/30 before the pandemic now I’ll put it at 95/5 so if you wanna take 5% chance of getting a job and 95% chance of returning home empty handed you can give it a try
