Hello Ralfudoh, Thank you for all your analysis and perceptions. I think you should let this discussion be if you are reading to understand and not respond. Both you and my long time Nairalander @niajaforeigner made some valid points. Everywhere in the world we have corruption and canada is not an exception. We tend to communicate & discuss bad news faster than the good (judging by the way everyone has chipped into this discussion). Most NIGERIANS here are doing all we can to make better life for ourselves even though the fees are sometimes a worry (which is the same for other foreigners) Your points about fake documents and all is valid but this a very general statement that also apply to other countries which Naijaforeigner has mentioned. While the process might look unfair since applicant pay process fees, we something complicate matters with the kind of documents we submit. Yes the documents are real but the applicant makes the correlation between all documents submitted impossible when vetting by VO. The world is evolving and there are new learnings everyday about study Visa application. While each application is unique, Applicants must learn to submit straight forward documents in a way that document A will relate well with B without doubts.. Sometimes the SOP is where all the flaws in one's application comes out, I know Frank (very good man) has helped vetted alot of SOPs here, but let us all make sure that what we are saying in our SOPs correlate with the documents we are submitting. Back in the 2017, I am not sure we submitted the kind of documents been submitted now (maybe I am being bais). But please never give up on your dreams cz of bad news or rejections. Everything good in life starts with a sacrifice and ends with a smile and lots of experience. For those that wants to refire, please do! For those about applying, please carry on with your process. Remember that every application is unique and treated unique.. It will end in praise. ralfudoh: 5 Likes 1 Share |

iloveutd:not all institutions do refunds. Did you inquire if they do refunds before you sent it? That's why it's advisable not to pay upfront unless the embassy ask or you make inquiry about refund policy. I truly hope you get your money back Try looking up the number for the Departmental advisor for international students....call them!!! |

How did you pay & how much did you pay? So I can advise better. The daughter of my friend recently got a refund from the same college which she is using to pay her tuition for Ireland. iloveutd: 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Nobody: 7:04pm On May 17, 2020 |
I don’t know about check deposit or online banking. She used Flywire. She wrote to the university but did not get reply initially, so she called the International Student Office 519-748-5220 number before she got a response. She was told to send a copy of her refusal letter for them to start the refund processing. She was charged approximately $800CAD for administrative costs according to them and refunded her the remaining deposit she paid. It took about 3 working days for the college to complete the refund and 5 working days to get it from Flywire. I will say call the college instead of email and here what they say. Maybe your email is going to their junk box or they’re deliberately ignoring it. iloveutd: |

The first deposit for me was via fly wire ...so while I was waiting for my visa , the deadline for the balance deposit was approaching , so I made the second deposit via draft , my friend over there did it for me Wunaarroon69: |

Chocolateblessi: lol chill, you have lots of options. There are many factors involved in getting denied. you could do a masters in a related field, doing a PGD when you already got a masters seems rather far fetched lol, just do a run through of a good uni with low tuition. that should help. A Phd would look good too tho, since you already working.like I said you have options don't fret. Let's know your decision when you pick any..so we know how to proceed from there |

@adesam....which school did you pick..not all canadian institutions require english proficiency test. check out the website of the school your interested in...their requirements are there. Nobody will penalize you for toefl or ielts if its not required. it's up to you tho..Having toefl or ielts helps boost your bonafidability. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Yads97: 8:21pm On May 17, 2020 |
adesam91: This is specifically for the Nigerian Student Express Pilot which hasn’t been launched yet. So if your institution of choice doesn’t require an English test result, you do not need to write IELTS for a visa application. |

Hello people, Please who knows what the situation is at the Lagos Vfs office regarding biometrics and the covid issue? I have been sent the biometrics letter which says I need an appointment. I tried to book an appointment on the website but there seems to be no available dates; i even tried up to August. Has anyone gone for biometrics recently or is it on hold for now? Maybe I should call instead? School resumes in September so I have limited time. Thanks |

Please whoever is the admin of this forum should call some people to order, we are deviating from the course of this forum. When I first joined this forum I got a lot of helpful information that aided me in applying for my study permit, thanks to u all. But now there are newbies here asking questions and getting very minimal response because you people are busy complaining of how unfair the Canadian immigration system is and whether Nigerians are corrupt or not. As I said earlier, if u feel u have been denied your right or unjustly denied visa u can quietly take it up with IRCC in court. Their are immigration lawyers that will be happy to represent you. The one thing I understand here is: 1. Canadian Immigration has quotas for issuing student visas. They may not publish them or even admit to having them but believe me when I say that, even though you have met all of the requirements, **the Canadian Government owes you nothing.** There are many people from many countries that view a Canadian education with great value. The Canadian Government is very aware of this. It’s therefore a sellers market. It is also well known that a Canadian education attained with a student visa is one of the more secure paths to being granted Permanent Residency in Canada, especially if you have managed to secure some part time work in your intended field. The number of people applying to go to Canada now are not the same as the number of people that were applying in 2016. I had a cousin who went to Canada to do his undergraduate in 2011 and came back because it was too cold. Fast forward now he applied for post graduate and got denied. Then Canada was not what it is now, so situations have changed. They get millions of qualified applicants every day but somehow they will have to filter. If you still want to study in Canada, try again and again till u get it. It all depends on how badly u want it. Coming here to complain everyday will not give u the visa. If my visa gets refused I will keep trying till I get it cos God knows how badly I want it. Can we please help others with their applications, and if complaining is so important to us we can create another forum for that. Thanks. 7 Likes |

legit90: Thanks bro, really appreciate. I did mistake by applying then. I didn’t know how it goes then. Everything was based on advice and conviction from people who applied and got it before, according to my uncle. The application was done before I was told the content in my application. So I had no idea before hand. Please I really do need more suggestions. |
