Sergioaguero:
Try to compare this chapter and verse from common jehova withness bible, you wont find this verse like this

1 John 5:7-8

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Have you too found that potion in the original manuscript from where the Bible was translated?

Maybe only a few of you who have not been totally taught still believe that Holy Spirit has left.

My praying in tongues is for my edification. Does it only have to be in the midst of people?

there was no time Jehovah witnesses said holy Spirit left. maybe you didn't understood what is being said.

is there any verse in the Bible that suggest one should speak in tongues for personal edification?

after speaking in tongues, can you really write down or understand what you said?

speaking in tongues was meant to serve a purpose and that is to help the apostles spread the good news to all sorts of people and languages.

I want you to read act 2:4-11. maybe you will figure out what it really meant to speak in tongues

Acts 2:4-11 New International Version (NIV)
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”

They don't pray twice a day or rather they pray only when going out .

A fellow pastor was narrated to me what transpired between his wife , himself and a Jehovah witness member

J. W ...... Good morning ma

WIFE .... Good morning ( how may I help you?)

J. W ...... (introduction ) I have come ma to speak to you about
about the gospel

(the J. W started preaching and the wife cuts in )

Wife,........ sorry , would I have preferred you pray before you
start preaching

J. W .... No madam , I have prayed before coming out

Wife ..... sorry pls ...... my faith requires I (we) pray in
everything and everytime

J.W ...... I can't do that madam ... I have prayed once

After some minutes of discussing whether to pray or not ( the husband come out to end the discussion

Husband ....... My wife said you should pray before preaching, that it negates her own faith...... pls if you can't pray before preaching , you can now take your leave .

THAT WAS THE END OF THE PREACHING

Before you share false gist, confirm if its true. It is not typical of witnesses to say "we are here to preach the gospel.". Gospel? Nah. That's not how we preach my friend. We use words like "share the good news about the kingdom of God". Get 1000 witnesses to preach to you and you will never hear them preach that way.

To the issue of prayer, the bible says "Pray without ceasing". Jehovah is the one who asks us to pray to him regularly, so why would we only pray once a day? I can't count the number of times i pray in a day.

People find pleasure in cooking stories about Witnesses just to fuel to widespread hate. Its wise to find out which is true and false before you believe

Can't refute any claims you say? What a shame, a young JW kid will convienently do that.
From experience, discussions like this on faceless forums achieve little or no result. Kindly find a JW in your area who would not only refute yours false claims to your face but will help you grasp the real truth that you have refused to see. Nobody will force you to this, it is yours to choose.
Shalom

So you can regurgitate some of the rebuttals you have been taught?
Start by doing a little detective work on jw by asking a little question: "what if Jehovah witness is a false religion?"

Pretend to investigate this question as a detective and see what you fine.

If you haven't questioned a believe from the other end, then you're just been brainwashed

It's so funny the way you always tend to ignore some bible passages. Please how do you explain 1 Corinthians 14:4 if you may? And how do you relate it to just using it as a tool to preach to others of other languages alone? If speaking in unknown tongues is just to speak to other people while using an interpreter, then what do you understand as using it as a means to communicate with God? Or you do not believe that?

And yes, the Holy Spirit gives me insight into the things I say.

Out of 12 apostles Jesus had, one turned out bad. He betrayed him. Were the remaining 11 apostles condemned because of the action of Judas? Was it their fault he went bad? Did the people then discredit the remaining apostles?

Everyone is responsible for their actions individually. The fact still remains that Jehovah's organisation does not condone any form of wrongdoing. Any wrongdoer is disciplined. The bible says "Everyone will carry his own load".
So, why do you discriminate other churches and their practice? Let them carry their load and also, leave their members for them. Stop going to their houses if you won't welcome them to yours. Don't give what you won't take.

Christian speak in tongue to God and it meant for God and speaking in tongues his through the power of the holy Spirit and not by the speaker himself and let it stick to your ear that never is it used to talk to man but only a man by Power of the Holy Spirit communicate the supplication of his heart to the ear of God alone who hears and answer

Ask yourself what actually is the meaning of "speak in tongues"

1 corrithians 12:10
Jesus spoke in tongue at the cross of Calvary and people are saying blasphemy speaking in tongues doesn't actually means speaking out of this world but using a language the mind of the speaker or anyone one close to him know at that moment 1 corrithians 12:10 made you feel to understand for one speaketh without understanding the meaning of the language he spoke with another through the spirit interpret and might later find out the language the speaker spoke in

A Yoruba man whom leave in a Yoruba community among Yoruba people might start mixing language uncommon to him and his community during prayer, probably Dutch, french, Arabic at the same time during an intercessory prayer

This also reminds guy of the purpose of mankind to him, everybody is one to God

I think I will create another thread for this

Having gone through this post severally, I'm yet to come to terms with your views, is there any way you can make it clearer please?

no one is judging the idol worshippers. there is a difference between preaching and judging. or did anyone forced you to listen?
You're contradicting yourself. You're judging other churches by saying they worship idols and pictures, and you're trying to preach to them to join you because you feel you're doing the right thing. Me too I don't want to listen, don't come knocking.

This religion has destroyed countless homes and families. This religion is the proverbial sheep in wolf covering.
They harbor child molesters, refusing to report them to the authorities, and victims of child molestation who choose to leave the religion because of injustice meted to them are shunned forever by loved ones, unless they return to the group.
Jws will not even report to the authorities one who confesses to killing people.
It's a one way street, and thier love is conditional. They love bomb you when you become thier member; but once you uncover thier false doctrines and head for the exit, they accuse of leaving Jehovah and then withdraw all thier conditional love. They tell everyone of thier members, your members who are Jws inclusive to shun you, never to even say a greeting to you.If you live with your parent at the time of making this decision, then you must leave the home, and your parents must never speak with you again unless you return back to the group.

Bottom line is this, although Jws regard as worldly and a Babylonian anyone not a member of thier cult, you're better off never joining the religion. If you ever join the religion, you must never leave. If you do, you'll loose everything and everyone you've ever known and had as friend or family.

They are a deadly cult.

Doubt me, go to the internet, read, watch and hear the stories of survivors of this Abusive religion.

We cannot stop because it was a command given to all Christians by Jesus in Matthew 24:14. Its a God-given command we must obey. Meanwhile, we do not force people to listen but rather respect people's wish if they don't want to listen.

Yeah, majority. By idol worshipers, I mean "non members" of your church as stated by your member in previous post. If you think it's a lie, create a new thread, ask the question and move it to front page. We'll use that as our data.

Why don't you guys marry outside your church but your members have sexual intercourse with non members.

We, Jehovah's witnesses respect the sanity of marriage and work hard to marry those who share our faiths, believes and traditions. We're not imperfect minds, who do all our utmost to keep relationship with our creator.

Why don't you guys accept other churches books and listen to their preaching but you go around knocking on people's doors.

As commanded by our leader, Jesus Christ, we heed to the call to preach to everyone who cares to listen to the good news we bring. We're not at People's doorsteps to do trade by barter.

Why don't you guys enter other churches if invited to weddings or anniversaries, which I know you do celebrate.

Why? Thanks for the observation and gestures made about us. We do enjoy social occasions and gatherings with our neighbours.

Jehovah's Witnesses are not in Saturn. Visit our kingdom hall with an open mind, attend and see for yourself, not internet stories. Even Jesus had false stories spread about him. So who are we not to be lied against?

If you were once a Witness who was disfellowshipped for wrongdoing then i understand why you might be bitter. But one thing is for sure... Jehovah's Witnesses DO NOT shield anyone from wrongdoing. If you commit an offence punishable by the law, no one will hide you away from your sin.
