Hummus is a dip mainly made from cooked mashed chickpeas. A Lebanese friend introduced it to me but I think it is eaten in several Arab countries.

Thank you

It's a habit really. Once you get used to it, it will become very easy. You will even do the shopping some certain way. And when you notice how good it makes you feel, fit and strong and less fatigued, you will never retreat from this 'life-style'. However, I have my cheat days too, once a week but not more than two. When I make jollof rice, I eat more than I should, same with egusi, I also love pizza and cakes and these things are food for the soul. smiley

...and light too.
You have a well-planned diet.

You don't like hummus? shocked Do you like guacamole?

There are many other dips though. I also like sour cream, feta dip, tomato-basil-dip, eggplant dip, greek yoghurt dip (with or without tuna and onions), smoked mackerel and watercress dip, chimmichurri (don't know if I spelled it correctly).

I think I know what I will make in the coming weeks. cheesy

I like everything on that list except hummus and tomato dip. I’ll eat both However I’ll chose others before them.

Thank you. You’re too kind.

Yes there are things I can’t cook. But if I’m interested in making them, I use YouTube as my guide. Once you have the interest, it comes easy.

And to think I used to be a bit picky.

My palate has broadened considerably.
I Used to hate mushrooms, hated cassava fufu(I’ve actually not tried it yet but I think I would if I saw it again), still iffy on snails but I will try them. Hated spinach. Hated Okra soup (I taught myself to like it when i started making it to my taste).
Still not very comfortable around ogbono soup but I’m open minded if I have no choice but to eat it.

Thank God I grew up grin

Did you put salt on the tomato? You can eat them with your sandwich. I never eat tomatoes without anything. The only exception could be cherry tomatoes but even then I prefer them with a sandwich.

I used to detest fry eggs so much as a kid. I would either have my egg boiled or not eat egg at all while others are taking their egg fried with bread.....I eat it now. But veggies raw as in raw....I doubt I will try it o

There’s only so much sliminess I can handle. When I’ve eaten it in the past, I always add okra for some texture and make sure I use uziza leaf to create the aroma I love (not very keen on the aroma of ogbono by itself)

The sliminess is what I have a problem with in the first place. undecided Don't let me tell you what it reminds me of. Nobody on this thread will ever eat it again. grin

Mine too did. I'm just someone that's not easily influenced right from a young age. I would rather not eat than eat what I don't fancy.

So many times I skipped meals because they wanted me to eat what I don't even though nutritious. I was later allowed to decide my meaps myself
