Babiala government A government that has neglected its biggest asset...human resource. Now we think that the way to economic Recovery is by taxation. Just imagine if every able-bodied individual was gainfully employed ... Income tax from their earnings VAT from their consumption Property tax from their houses Road tax when they drive their cars But no... rather than make sure we can raise productive people, we come up with easy taxes.. Stamp duty and taxing companies that created a product that people want! Next Level 2 Likes |

Omooba77:Ignorance overload, Mr man. You don't even understand the content of the thread you opened. All you're interested in is to have it on FP ![]() I hate this false display of humility. Why calling him sir? Omooba77:So they should pay in the US, Europe, Asia, but shouldn't pay in Nigeria? Which consumers are you talking about? The average social media user doesn't pay kobo to use any of these services, aside the small number of businesses or politicians who pay for advertisements. 9 Likes 1 Share |

RenaissanceGuy:Explain if you understand it. Facebook and co already pay tax to appropriate authority. Charging them again will be passed to consumers like you and I. It is like when you buy a sofrware, do you still pay for using the software? 2 Likes |

What a typical Nigerian don't know is that these companies are paying a huge amount of money to Nigeria government they never made it public.... Now they want to add tax to them on top the ones they are collecting before and may even be with a threat to shut them off Nigeria web space.... You all will find yourselves getting an item on eBay, amazon, alibaba etc cheaper if you choose a U.S or UK address than when your address is nigerian IF THEY UNRAVEL THE CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA....YOU MIGHT FAINT BEFORE THEY EVEN STARTED 4 Likes |

Is like FG is mad or high on something. I seriously don't know what gave them the nerves to come to such thinking … . like are they contributing to me sub? instead of them to work on the increase on all this cable providers and also on the network providers too. But hell NO, they decide not to hear the masses complaining about the needful. 2 Likes |

I'm not here to 'defend government' but let's be honest. Oil prices this last 6 months have generally not been favourable to Nigeria. Also, the whole covid19 thing has stymied international trade, which makes earning cash from non-oil sector even more problematic. Then there is the fact that our GDP-to-tax ratio is 5.8% (average in Africa is 28%) I know most of us are 'poor', but the harsh truth is, until oil goes up above $100 per barrel, taxes is going to be the way forward. Whether the government can control the looters on board is another issue. 5 Likes |

How many years did it take before Nigeria can partake of Netflix? This bastard government just want to destroy all the effort and the progress that took 20 years to bring this digital investors here. Kemi Adeosun is 10 trillion times better than this quota system product. But because of one useless NYSC certificate exemption error, foolish Nigerians rushed to crucify her, not knowing they were acting the script of the hegemonic herdsmen in the north, hope you guys are happy now with the devil substitute they don give una. later she will introduce tax for sleeping at night.
