EliteBiz: Well done Sir, you were speaking sense until when you came to the solution and then you mentioned prayer and spiritual help. You are wrong Sir, prayer is important but not in this respect. What we need is the change of attitude and values. Countries that do not even believe in God are having better citizens than us. Prayer comes in after we change our attitude. 2 Likes |

Carlyboi: I personally find it sadening when Nigerians at home type this way. You guys find a way to blame the victims instead of aggressively attacking the offenders. You always start with "in as much as I don't support crime, .....", etc. All those statements only aid victim blaming and that's why the western world thinks we are all criminals or, at least, crime apologists. Fact is, there's no type of security you can put in place to keep away anyone who has already obtained the security details from the actual account owners or someone who's played on the psych of the unsuspecting victims to follow their biddings. Really? You think the American banking system is targeted cause it is the most porous? You think African and Asian countries are not victimized cause thiers is better? Or you think most of these fraudsters actually write scripts to bypass the security infrastructure of the banks? No, the rely on the fact that these people in the western world are not exposed to scams are much as Nigerians are and therefore aren't as security conscious; they trust faster and they're are easily moved emotionally. These guys are just taking advantage of thier nature. Take a look at the people involved, some of them just play the love interest role. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

You are wrong. have you not heard that poverty is the mother of crime. see eh! if nigeria goverment do not honestly invest in boosting our economy and youth development. if the united state like let them make the punishment of cyber crime life in prisionment, hungry nigeria youth will still persist in cyber crime. |

etrange: Read my piece again bro....especially to the last word when I say America’s banking and financial institutions are weak and somewhat porous I have my reasons and if you’ve any idea on the different tricks and scheme used in perpetrating these crimes you’d agree...and in terms of support there’s no part in my piece where I supported internet fraud or these scammers I only said something bout the American system making it way easy for most of them and btw is wasn’t talking bout romance scam here. |

Breaking up is not the way... It only creates a cloud of mayhem that covers the growing rot in the system(s) albeit very temporarily. This rot accelerates, combusting as there are no recognised structures in place. Repetitive fracturing sets in and puts the entire region (West Africa) on edge. Cc smartpolician Zindalati . |

mosegifted: Stop being in denial. Cybercrime is endemic in Nigeria. Go to several Nigerian cities - Lagos, Asaba, Ibadan, Enugu, Awka, Warri, Benin etc - most of the youths engage in this despicable act. Too bad for the nation's image. Nigerians cannot access several international financial platforms because of this. 1 Like |

[quote author=EliteBiz post=90745807]Firstly - Cyber crime (yahoo yahoo) can't stop in Nigeria, obviously. Secondly - There will gradually be more restrictions and harsh treatment on Nigerians all over the world. Thirdly - Nigeria as a country is currently at the edge of collapse (Economy, Security, Terrorism infact everything...... Everything about Nigeria is going backwards on a fast speed). I would have given your comment a perfect 10 but it will be limited to 6/10. Where you goof is that "aspect of prayer". Bros, if you count the number of religious centres or measure the amount of prayer Nigerians have been praying for many decades, it's enough to rescue the country but you need to know something is wrong somewhere (I won't tell you. You find it out yourself). What we need is a thinking mindset, reasonability with actions coupled with good leadership (Mind you, everything starts from the top where good examples should be followed). 1 Like |

EliteBiz: No I don’t. I know every man has the capacity to be very greedy. The Arabs, Americans, Russians even Asians all started scams b4 Nigerians. They also once had scam networks and systematic corruption like what we have here. What happened is they fixed the problem by building stronger SYSTEMS and nipping it in the bud with decisive actions and effective policies and alternatives for people to survive. The day power was out for just like 7hrs in a city in the US guess what?? Americans started vandalising and looting shops cos they know they can get away with it cos of no power backup for cameras. That’s when I realized how it works. Poverty and failed systems and institutions are playing their own negative part in our crime rate. 2 Likes |
