You are looking at football from one perspective the Spanish style of football. Things have moved on you are being too nostalgic.

A style that sees only two teams dominate in thier league consistently. But two teams with the best 2 players in the world.

Take out Messi from Barcelona and l tell you they will not have the same over riding dominance. Look at Real M.since Ronaldo left and they are not the same.

Most top quality teams are not entirely reliant on just one player.

Now to mitigate against the technical possession game of Barcelona. You simply bring in pace, more physicality and go more direct. And don't worry about possession.

Chelsea did it with Drogba.

Football has moved on and spending time on the ball with possession only is no longer the killer tactic. Pep has evolved the system with what he has done at Bayern and Man city.

Liverpool did it and gave Barcelona a football lesson with a crazy defeat right in thier backyard.

If it worked Carzola would still be in Arsenal but he has dropped to insignificance in Villareal.

The system also requires that everyone plays the same way.

Look at Seria A and see what the combination of speed, technical ability with physicality has done for Lukaku at Inter. Although for me irrespective of the league Lukaku is a proven tested World class striker.

Paul Scholes would not find it easy now the game has changed. Midfielder are box to box and they score goals.

Even with that you are still very wrong and not being balanced with regards to English players. Let's look at the current young English midfielder who are killing it.

Mason Mount, Maddison, Winks, Grealish, Ruben Loftus, Barkley, Bamidele Alli, Todd Cantwell, etc to name just a few. These players will walk into any top club in Europe.

So again you seem to be out of touch with times the game has changed. Look at Liverpool where the Wing backs are recording more assists and even goals than top midfielders in the top leagues.

You need to drink the new wine, you are still drinking old Wine.

De Bruyne does not waist time doing skills and never ending possession football. But is arguably the best attacking midfielder in the world, look at his END PRODUCT assists and goals.

You are very wrong claiming Paul Scholes would not find it easy in this era. He would be a legend. When we have the likes of Silva dominating the EPL for over a decade.

Manchester City have still maintained their possession football to the end. I wonder how you can try to change the fact that possessive teams have dominated football for ages.

Is Thiago Alcantara not a legend in Bayern. Has he not dominated English teams? So how can you come up with an idea like Scholes would not dominate. That is far from reality. That is like saying Xavi would not dominate.

Spurs has been on the top 4 for a while now, what do you mean Mr? they have the most average players with the least pay but can pull weights compared to arsenal and even United. The only influence La Liga has is the El clasico and the ability to buy any player (even lower than the asking price). Don't do this thing again I earn you, the last time the English league was made fun of the dominated both the UCL and the Europa.

Spurs that were taught a lesson by the 3rd best team in Germany(or even less)

Dominated keh

After how many years in the wilderness?

Your English teams, where are they now in the champions league?

Liverpool is Out

Chelsea should thank their stars for the break else they would have being humiliated

Man city is the only shining light

All this Mount and Alli and Cantwell you are calling, with all due respect are crap and can no where be compared in tactical ability to the likes of Modric, Thiago and Isco. These guys you are calling are babies now.

You do not even understand for you to list these babies.

they have done extremely well where money meant less

give la liga clubs the kind of money epl clubs have and watch epl sink

epl is the richest football league in the world yet struggling to win the international trophies with less funded leagues

my point still remain that none of the top five leagues is the most competitive!

Does Xabi Alonso and Silva waste time doing skills? Who is talking about skills here. I am talking about brilliant tactical plays. Watch the Oliver Torres video I posted and see the point. The kid was not pulling off skills but playing in a way similar to Scholes.

Was Scholes pulling off skills? He was using intricate passes to unlock midfields. You did not even get the point.

England is yet to produce a high grade tactical master. Henderson has showed promise but Foden looks a possibility. He needs to adapt fast.

You are joking..

Can you swear that you could have predicted that Leicester would in the top4 this season or that Arsenal would be outside the top10?

While the EPL has produced 5 winners in the last 20 years, laliga has produced 4. More than half of which have been won by one club...

You can stake your entire life savings that Barca and Madrid will make the top 4 in la liga next season, but can you do the same for the EPL?

The point is that I said they are on par. Not that the La Liga is ahead. However, on a tactical perspective, the Spaniards got it locked.

I am pointing out that the EPL will not walkover the Spanish side as insinuated. The Spaniards may not have a glory list of names but with their tactical acumen, they will cause lots of top English sides problems.
