For lovers of military movies; The Outpost which was released this year is very interesting, it's based on a true life story of US forces in a small outpost in an isolated region in Afghanistan. It's in the mould of Black hawk down, 13 hours in Benghazi.
Pure unadulterated violence, it also give one an idea of what attack on military bases looks like.
I just downloaded it now, will settle down tonight to watch it.

Bro i'm not discouraging anyone, i also want to join but my point is making noise about it that you want to fight boko haram isn't something u should be boasting about, a lot have tried and we saw how it ended. My own is stay lowkey, no need to cast yourself. My cousin just died, he shot himself, we dont no what the poor boy must have been passing through, he is a US Army officer.
Another thing you said they leave a peaceful life, if only you know what's happening to them behind the scene, i don't know if you heard about PTSD, research about it. Even retired boxers, wrestlers and the likes face it and we know how dangerous it can be. The so cause mighty united states that got lots of psychologist but still ptsd is there talk less of Nigeria my country that they don't regard any instead u go to your pastor or imam and pray. God decides everyone's fact but if its not Gods plan for you, everything will die down.
I don't have any issue with anyone joining the army, let your work do that talking simple. You don't know who and who is here, positive speech is the best. No one wish to go to war, anyone that loves fighting war is a psychopaths and a maniac and needs to be checked. Like i said talk less, let your work speak for you.
People die everyday by accident and the likes i accept, do you think the military will disclose the number of people that die?? I laugh again you, they will never say anything. A military man can die lets say last year june and they can just announce it this year so don't rely on that fact you just said. Na person way dey the field na him no what's up
Very apt, nice words.

That's why i said its easy to talk from outside but when you inside, you will know what's up. I can bet my money any day any time, no soldier will ever tell you he or she is enjoying. Funny part is do you know how many people that have tendered resignation letter but its still pending till date? See ehn its not easy, till date the Biafra's are still having the effect back then, Hiroshima is never the same, i'm very sure borno, Maiduguri can never be the same. One soldiers wife i know, she never see her husband for a year, this same man got shot but the bullet tampered with one of his eye, guess what? He was still sent back to continue. If you not a commissioned officer lets say colonel or so, no chilling i might be wrong talk less of been a recruit. Its when you are old, you will understand better. The first person you kill thats the hardest, after that you turn to a cold killer, u no send anybody. Assuming Nigeria my country really have regards for their soldiers, no one would complain. Most of our soldiers are broken and need a therapist but our greedy seniors won't allow that. The weakest link in capturing a soldier is taking any of his family that's when you will see the true emotion of a soldier. I can't count how many times have seen some soldiers running away.
One funny thing about this life is when you tend to ginger a lot to get something, when that thing finally comes, u get tired. Been in the war zone or a dangerous place you stand a chance of dying 93%, while if you not there the chances of you dying is lesser apart from natural cause like sickness, accident, robbery etc.
This life sweet gan, a woman losing her husband in the war front that's when you will see senior officers sleeping with the widows which is terrible. Lets be mindful of our speech honestly and hope for the best. Life is too short to die at your peak. May God see us through

See what he said below.

Looking at the real life events from which the movie "the outpost" was culled from, it was observed that it was a bad idea to build the military outpost surrounded by mountains which were shelters to a lot of hostiles. In fact on further investigation, it was revealed that the outpost (camp Keating as it was called) was kinda cut off from sister units and the only air support they had had an ETA of approx 45 mins. These and many more are the reasons for the casualties they sustained when the outpost was attacked

Why you ask these military guys some kind intricate questions, they seem to be speaking in parables even those you are close to; is it that they don't trust you with the information, or are they scared you'll sniff out the fear in them? I as a person can't blame them if they are scared because though they are rugged but they are still flesh and blood.
