He might be referring to the Fidelity HYSA earlier mentioned. It's just leaving your money in your account to earn a higher sum.

Well said, Pa Emma. Sir, a lot of people have also refused to broaden their horizon by remaining in their villages living in penury. And like someone rightly observed above, most of the places that commenters referred to as villages in their conversation are actually towns.

A word for the Newbies START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE AND WHERE YOU ARE
Investing is better done on a gradual note. There are many investment opportunities, trying to explore all at the same time with little resources may not yield the necessary positive effect.
It’s good to diversify and have different investment windows but wanting to have all at once will slow you down and will not allow you to start. If you have little, why not start with mutual funds and grow gradually, with time you add stocks, bonds, dollar dominated investments, real estate, foreign stocks etc. Most newbies in the quest to invest in all windows end up not investing because you keep seeing reasons why certain investment is better than others. Real estate for instance is a very good investment but why waste time trying to do real estate when you have just some few hundreds of thousands which you can easily grow with mutual funds and stock investment. Just start somewhere. If there is willingness and focus to invest you will get to your dreams. Reading investment books is good but if you don’t practice even the simplest principles in those books it’s same as the person not reading at all.
Start with what you have and where you are!

It is their life, it is their choice, it is their wish and all these must be respected. Especially when they are not asking us for handouts.

My aged mother-in-law business paid her grand children school fees in the US up to University levels, the sons get money from Naija to change their cars, reimbursement of mortgage payments and other expenses. Yet they can't come and manage the family business that is providing these financial aids running to tens of thousands of dollars every year. We all know how expensive it can be using Naira income for dollar expenses.

We all have different stories, challenges, dreams and realities all these will affect the type of adventures, innovations, resourcefulness, determination to better our lots. Bettering our lots can be done anywhere, it is not location specific but determined by us, our comparative advantages and absolute advantages.

Any account I can access is not a savings to me. The rate I spend money and give out to people makes me secure the money in Tbills as am definitely sure of not terminating before maturity for any reason. My regular savings account used to pay more than Tbills before rates were dropped. Accessibility is still my problem. Thanks

Guess you never heard the term internal advert.
Not all job go through interview session, grow small abeg. There are emergency replacement and any one that fit is drafted and there don't have to stop operation for the recruitment process to be complete. Why are you so pain, is it your story? God father's don't grow on trees, it's a feat to get one. Position yourself to get one as you need one in your life. The man that sent my CV when his company needed someone immediately to fill a position rather did the company a favour. Have seen that man once after my job because he personally request I never thank him but should only come if I have problem which I can never have. He was long posted out of naija within six months of my employment. My brother, of you are not qualify, godfather wouldn't send your name to even a bakery for employment. Before he did the godfather job, I was comfortable on the streets. Get something doing while you wait for godfather.
