1. are you using a combination of solid and hollow blocks in the building?
2. if yes, then what part of the building do you use solid blocks and what part do you use hollow blocks?

Let me correct you. What we have here is half Hollow half solid. That's the type of block we have in this place.

So am not using solid and Hollow separately.
This is just the way the blocks in this area are.

Did you make any special provisions to insulate the security office section from the generator section in terms of vibration?

For health and safety considerations, you'd typically use a 'discontinued foundation', with foam padding in between.

We did that correctly.
In fact we equally used 9 inches blocks to separate the security house from Gen house.

Moreso, we are insulating it during plastering stage when the time comes.

All these factors are considered and duly observed.

Well done for this, this kind of insulation helps to keep the starch in ur mix in the decking and makes it more regid, less leakage

We successfully completed the laying of the membrane today. And we are set for site concrete tomorrow. Day 7

Good question.
You know we are in rainy reason.
However, it helps retain water that may try to sip through after decking works and concrete is done. Thereby making the decking even much stronger because the cement mixtures and components remains in place throughout the duration it stays there

We finally leveled the security and Gen house.
Next is concrete facial then roofing. But that would be on our next return after decking of the main building.

The introduction of ground beam was as a result of historical background of the place. However, once it's ascertained that the land is good enough without ground movement and fast settlement, you may not need ground beam. Example of this was a two story we did in Uratta Owerri. There was no need for ground beam then because the soil was strong.

The foundation still remains pad and strip. The only new thing is the beam.

Here's something I'm curious about: by what means will the pool be drained when needed, since there's no drainage channels in the area?
