Check for Leakages Bro, if you there is no leakage, then you would need to bring out your radiator and blow it, ensuring that it is not blocked, after doing that, you want to ensure that your water pump is in good condition. If you have done all these and you are still over heating, My brother your engine block has issues.

Nairaland Car Gurus please help me find permanent solution to my golf 3 car(America spec) doing overheating barely every day

I started experiencing this over heating after the change of fuel pump and speedometer censor was changed by a recommended Rewire

I'm using this golf for commercial business, nothing give me any issue in the car than this over heating, is becoming embarrassing when I carry passengers and it started. the car is clean and engine is working fine

it's relay today, it's the water in the radiator boiling tomorrow, I'm becoming sick of this. my mechanic told me when it started this night that my gasket is damaged in the process. I put water in the radiator everyday because of this over heating

please what do you guys suggest as the permanent solution to this over heating gazzuzz Sienna royallord1 and others and I wouldn't mind a recommendation of good Rewire. I reside in Lagos.

My good bro. Check the pictures below

is there any need to wash the radiator. I just want a Permanent solution to this

changing the thermostats and reconnecting the fans back to factory settings will stop this overheating permanently right?

THERMOSTAT IN THIS GOLF WATERPUMP MAKES THE CAR OVERHEAT, IF THERE'S ALREADY THERMOSTAT
REMOVE IT.
DID YOU BUY A NEW WATERPUMP?

Change the thermostat. Ensure there's a thermostat there. Reconnect the fans back to factory settings.

Get a lower temperature rating thermostat. And reinstall back...then revert your fans to factory settings.... This is the picture of the thermostat... 87°C rating.... There's 71°C settings

Hmmm

I'm very sure the Kazeem rewire must have deliberately disconnected your thermostat as is usual with them with their " e no mean anything or you no need am for naija" nonsense.

May God heal your car.

removed mine too, but what's the bad implications if using the car without thermostat?? if any?

My fan is reconnected to work anytime ignition is on though.
Re: Help Me Find A Permanent Solution To My Overheating Car by Aguogba(m): 6:43pm On Aug 16, 2020
Bros, my candid advice to you is to sell the car. If your car dey suffer overheating, e go be like say na village people dey follow you. As your temperature gauge dey rise, na so your BP go dey rise.
And apart from EOD ball joint, nothing else disgrace person pass overheating. The water no dey boil except for places like 3rd mainland bridge, in front of Mr Biggs, front of your estate entrance gate, near army barrack gate.

I had a VW Passat 2004 that had exactly the same problem. It wrecked my economy during that period. I even changed my engine, radiator, and water pump. Yet it persisted. Na so I take sell my fine Passat for 350K. But the peace my 2006 Toyota Corolla (Europe- bank type) gave me afterwards compensated for my months of VW wahala.

As you said you top water every morning, meaning either your WATERPUMP, radiator, or any of the joining hoses are leaky.
Try to ascertain where the leak is from, and fight from there.
2. Check if your radiator is dirty and need to be washed as clogs sometimes block the circulation and it causes overheating too.
Also make sure your fan is working properly.

I think Volkswagen recalled Cars during a given year period due to Manufacturing error, maybe you can check online, perhaps your car inclusive

Oga MI there's no need for a thermostat as it causes overheat if it's still there.
You can ask your mechanic too.

Thermostat is for people in the really cold and snowy regions, it's facilitates warm-up immediately an ignition is turned on.
You can ask your mechanic or better still ask Google what a Thermostat does in a WATERPUMP.

Thermostat in the water pump.... Picture please?

This is exactly what it looks like in most Volkswagen models.
And it's been removed once a WATERPUMP is bought.
It's the cause of overheating if not removed and the Purpose of it is to warm up the engine in the morning in very cold and snowy countries as cars refuse to start when in real cold/snow for a long time.
